  1. Thank you for sharing/posting Eric! Great communication.
  2. /agreed I had to quit that game... you didnt pay.. you lost... end of story.
  3. May have snipped a little much from the original comment... it wasn't snark... I'd like them to look at the issues reported of discussed on the forums and attempt that specific mission themselves.
  4. You may be onto something here... I'd like to see them complete the Raptus Healing Challenge Edit: My snipping of the Rafkins comments looks a bit out of place... he comment was about if the dev team can complete he'd sub for life. Some of the issues people have been commenting on especially with game play issues... (Underlurker cross (although seems better), Raptus Healing Challenge (still seems wrong), Walkers AOE (still seems a tad high for SM). I'd gladly watch the stream. If I'm wrong... fine... I'll head back and figure out what I am doing wrong... but if they get in here and go '***"... so much the better. So a few above posted they wanted to see them deal with what we deal with... I agree... those are streams I would tune in for... "Community Team takes on Raptus Healing Challenge, live at 9P PST". or Ops "Devs face HM Underlurker"
  5. Much appreciated response Tait... thank you!
  6. I hate to see good people go... I do hope you return with cards!
  7. Thank you Tait! Is there a list of issues slated to be in the 3.1 fix? I've seen a couple posts on issues I am having. Maybe an update to the known issues thread/sticky?
  8. In my line of work, I deal with angry customers... I am expected to respond to every email received from a customer within 24 hours of receipt. If I don't... I don't have a job. Additionally, if I am working on a project/issue... It is expected that I update every 3 days. If I do not... I do not have a job. Now, I am not expecting the community team to post in every single thread... but they need to have a larger presence on the forums. How about they start by updating the Known Issues List. - Nut updated since 12/9 Provide a full list of items they are looking to have in 3.1 (even if they don't all make it, and then those should have an explanation). (Hey can even kill 2 birds with one stone... at the end of the known issue... put in your feeling (Shooting for Fix with 3.1) . Provide their current standing on the Slot Machine. - Last comment 1/20 Provide their current standing/plan on the Exploiters. - Last comment : 1/13
  9. Completely missed this Icy... and completely agree.
  10. I don't think he was saying that it is the communities fault. The problem is,from a forums perspective, there has been no word here... on what they think about the new rates (Eric did comment during a Q&A At Pax on it... there is Cellphone video, and someone transcribed the comment.)...(Dont want to read; basic summary... They mad a big mistake with the drop rates, and needed to change them... the numbers as they are now are what they are comfortable with). However, nothing has been said or clarified HERE. Thats the issue I have, and the issue Arkerus was responding to. The communication from this Community Team is horrid. There is no other way to describe it. There are hot button issues going on that get no reply... no official word. Instead he wants to know what we think of revising the Live Streams... Lack of communication leaves us to fall upon eachother like a pack of wolves. Conjecture, Anecdotal Evidence, Crafters v Resource Gatherers, PVE v PVP, Casual v Hardcore. Couple simple posts (while it may not make everyone happy (impossible in this environment) would serve to start ending pages and pages of posts about the same subject. Slot Gate: "We have reviewed the metrics since the 1/21 patch, and the slot machine is now performing as originally intended. We will continue to monitor the numbers, but no change is planned at this time". Thats it... some people will be angry... may even unsub and leave the game... but its DONE. (Not directed at you Icy) The number of posts by the community manager is frankly unacceptable... No he need not respond to every thread, every issue... but when something blows up like RavengerGate and SlotGate.. you need to be in there talking.... I shouldn't have to get some clue as to what you are doing while you mumble distractedly playing the game.
  11. I think that RVan_'s idea was solid. Play with people from regular guilds. I also, however, agree with LordArtimis (maybe not his tone, but the intent of the post). Honestly Eric... I don't want to see you play the game as much as I want to see you more active in these forums. I am not saying you need to come down on every issue. Lets take the slots for example; other than your initial post... you haven't said a word... I am not rehashing the argument (nor looking to start this thread down that path. People on both sides would like you to come out and say... something. Anything. We get our news from cellphone video of a Q&A... rather than you coming forward with a post. Same can be said about the Ravengers Exploit (again, I am not looking to rehash the issue/argument here). Again, we have some mumbled words in a twitch/live stream... but no official post. Each and EVERY Q&A should be reposted by Bioware... not having players do your work by transcribing it for you. I'd like you to be more active here. If you want to twitch stream your game time... fantastic. But, that is not addressing the community concerns (regardless of which side of the argument you land on... ) I understand the forums can be toxic... I've added to the toxicity at times... but in the end... they become more toxic basically because it appears that issues are ignored...
  12. As much as I hate to admit it... you're right... I don't look at buying/farming mats, and queuing crafting missions fun either.... but to each their own I suppose. I personally couldnt do it... nor would I want to be a part of a guild that pushed the whole crafting thing. That being said; Some people enjoy the challenge of getting their guild name in lights... or at least from a guild perspective (speaking solely of my guild here), it is something to work towards as a group. (We have made the leader board exactly once). But, we do want to expand the ship... so we do what we do... Some craft as a means to make their personal goals... we also craft (and get some conquest points) for the Infantry Supplies needed for Dark Projects. We have chosen a mixed approach of Commander Hunting and some Crafting (Dark Projects) to expand... this wont have us hitting the leaderboard... but we have fun... and there is no pressue.
  13. Given the recent issues with Harbinger (hardly a week goes by without hearing something in the forums)... I think this is a fair request.
  14. You're really grasping now... we knew (whether you choose to admit it or not), that the developer reserves the right to make ANY changes to the game, including any item in the game, etc. EULA and TOS that you agreed to. Eric (in that video) stated that he should have been more clear on what could have been changed. I do not excuse the oversight... nor do I excuse the fact that we have to learn this from a users Cell Phone video. This shouldn't have been communicated in a Q&A that only a very small percentage of players attended... it should be on their OFFICIAL site. But... enough is enough. I hope there is some room for a middleground solution on the scrap/parts/junk. Others have suggested some interesting compromises (2 that come to mind are LordArtimis's Univiersal Mat... the other (and forgive me I don't know the posters name idea that drop rates could be increased if they added a cooldown to prevent farming (and keeps other sources viable). How about supporting an idea, instead of stomping your feet and throwing a tantrum. You are not going to get your money back for gambling. Thats what the packs are... a gamble... you were guranteed NOTHING. Bioware delivered to you exactly what you bought... cartel packs that had the POTENTIAL of including a interactive slot machine decoration. Additionally, You knew that any item can be changed in the game at anytime at the sole discretion of BW... and yet you dumped money into getting the slot machine. A machine that if you didnt know there was going to be a nerf nuke based on initial reports... you were the person with their head in the sand. Now... if you want to support others idea on how to improve the slot machine... Great... I support a couple of the solutinos myself. You want to continue stomping you feet... well best of luck to you.
  15. Have to agree... the site is a woefully out of date. Its kinda sad that no one uses the official site for information. Players are directed to outside sites (Dulfy anyone)... or sent to new user forum threads here... which are maintained by the players.
  16. Yes and no... there is a business to run after all. Frankly, customers are the worst person to give you advice on doing business. They'll want it cheaper then you can afford to make it... If you listened to all your customers demands... you'd soon be out of business. I want a Mercedes for 15K ... funny how they aren't taking my suggestion and making it happen. Before we get into the thats real life, this is a game... except... the product is a game, true... but there is a real world business developing the game. They aren't "playing a game"... this is real world dollars and cents at play. While, I think there was room for a middleground solution on the Jawa Junk/Scrap/Parts... but the Cartel Certificates.. not so much... that impacted their bottom line, or could have. According to Eric... they were dropping as expected... my thought is that they didnt take into account that people would be wiling to sit at the machine 8+ hours straight.... I know I sure as heck couldn't. But thats exactly what happened. So when the realities of the numbers came in... they realized they were wrong... dead wrong... about the drop rates. So it required a nerf... and a big one. They made a huge mistake with these machines.. then followed with further mistakes not communicating (frankly I found it stupid that I had to learn that the rates are where they want them now from someone cellphone video).
  17. Seriously?.... you quote that in order to say it was annoying?
  18. He meant that the player generally will take a loss by playing the slots (like real ones)... generally speaking, mostly what drops are rep tokens... so its -Investment (Purchased Chips) + Winnings = Net Loss... Or basically you don't make back (typically) what you put into the machine... just like a real slot machine.
  19. I took what he said completely differently... they have access to the metrics (including EVERYONE here that posted new & old drop rates (their spins are included in the analysis that BW completed)... They did look at it... made the changes, and looked at it again... and now feel that they are dropping as they wanted... throughout that process... there would have been discussions. You can certainly continue to advocate for a re-look... I personally like the one persons suggestion to set a number of spins debuff (x spins a day)., and increase the drops rates. I do think, however, that those advocating for any change need to drop the insults, and rage...
  20. Trust me, I know where you are coming from.... I would have preferred a midleground answer myself (I craft mainly for guildies, not for resale). BUT... there is nothing stopping you from getting the mats yourself. Absolutely nothing. You do not need to spend "millions of credits" unless the only way you were willing to work towards decorating your stronghold was buying everything from the GTN.
  21. Sorry OP, can't agree... Frankly (from my perspective) the bugs are pretty minor annoyances anymore... there are a few that need to be looked at that effect game play (Still think the SM Walkers in TOS are OP)... but other than that... the game functions pretty well (at least for me, and what I do in game). People are going to want more content... not minor changes that they (speaking in general terms) a) wouldn't notice, or b) didn't know were a problem.
  22. Pre 3.0 I gave the edge to the Sage Seer... but with the decrease in the AOE heal... i give the edge to the commando at this point). That being said... all perform well in Raids... play what you like.
  23. I think they have addressed what they are going to address as far as "in-game" (They are not looking at making any further changes to the drop rates) (Link - Skip to Minute 21). They should post the final say on the forums however.
  24. Shhh... next thing you know people are going to want a breathalyzer tie in so they don't make those alcohol induced purchases.
