  1. /signed. Totally agree on this. I've always wondered why cant old sets and weapons be permanently available, it could even be a credit sink if made properly. Also, anyone know where to get the E-313 Heavy Repeating Disruptor? You can see it here, for instance: https://torf.mmo-fashion.com/bralov-the-red-eclipse/ I really liked this look and i managed to copy it (except the helmet, different but similar enough). Still, i cant find the weapon anywhere, and it looks so good for Vanguards.
  2. I'm quite interested in this too. Anyone remembers if they did it last year? I wasnt playing by that time. I'm particularly interested in the Master Datacron and Equipment. I was planning on getting one, but if they will be further discounted, i'll hold off.
  3. SiegePro provided a lengthy explanation above, and i agree with most of the points. Still, the simpler answer in my case would be: Vanguard: it feels very mobile, and i enjoy hurling detonators to my enemies. Going around with a huge weapon like the blaster cannon seems clunky, and breaks my immersion a little bit, especially when he/she carries it on the back just as if it were nothing. Also, the Vanguard playstyle feels to me more agile, with more flow. Scoundrel: this is basically bc i think Han Solo is more a scoundrel than he is a gunslinger, and that's the type of character i'm pursuing. Also, both gunslinger and commando are like immobile blaster turrets, and i generally prefer a more dynamic combat style. Keep in mind this is for a solo story gameplay. The story is quite long from the starter planet all the way till Nathema conspiracy or Ossus, soon. I'll be doing all class missions, planetary arcs, some side missions, some fps, and all expansions, chapters, ziost, iokath, umbara, copero etc, just like i'm doing currently with my Sith Sorcerer (came back to the game a month ago and decided to replay my favorite class). I went with Madness bc i enjoy spamming Force Lightning, but for the most part that's the only ability i use. Therefore i dont want to feel so static in my next gameplay, that's why i chose those classes for a change of pace, and also bc i haven't seen their class stories yet, while i've played all the other stories several times over. Still, i'm anxiously reading all answers, thanks for taking the time to write them, specially the opinions regarding class stories. Keep em coming.
  4. Hey there, So, i still havent played 3 out of the 8 storylines, and those are the Consular, Trooper and Smuggler story. For some reason the Consular doesnt seem really attractive to me, so i thought i would now play either a Trooper or Smuggler. I'm gonna play it exclusively solo, so i want to primarily have fun and also feel engaged by the story. Therefore i'll be playing a Vanguard or a Scoundrel, as i think those will provide a funnier and more immersive gameplay than the other ACs. My main concerns are the fact that i've always believed (and still do) a non-force user doesnt fit in Kotfe/et at all, i really have trouble when i want to roleplay a bit (just a bit, very mild) and make my head canon. MAYBE i can come to terms with the notion of my Vanguard being a highly trained and skilled elite soldier who is used to giving orders and also, due to training and technological devices he could, hypothetically, he could defeat force users, and lead the alliance. BUT I just cant see my Scoundrel, an evasive crate-smuggling and mischievous pirate, leading the alliance. Anyway, the vanilla story is essential, and i believe it's the best part of the game. However, plenty of opinions on way, way too old threads i've digged out convey that the Trooper story is plain and simply bland. I truly enjoyed the Sith Inq and Warrior stories, and also the Agent one. I dont want bland stuff. Others seem to believe that the Smuggler story, while providing good lines and some plot twists, ends up turning the Smuggler into a Republic errand boy. I also dont want to be an errand boy ffs, that's not what being a smuggler is about. So, any opinion or advice on this will be really appreciated. PS: Swtorista if you by any chance see this, i just wanna tell you that i love your channel and your vids, and lately i'm enjoying a lot your "Wonders of SWTOR" series. I truly have a great time with your gameplay, and your voice and way of commenting, reading and narrating the whole thing is simply exquisite. Thanks
  5. Thank you so much for this explanation, i'll keep this in mind for the next time i reach that point. It triggers me because the bug happened to me on my main, out of my 26 toons, it was my main Sith Sorcerer the one that suffered the bug, and now i'll never be able to romance Lana on her anymore. Still, the paramount aspect imo is to finish chapters 3-9 in one go, and that's what i'll do from now on whenever i reach that point in the story.
  6. Hey there! I'm really glad you're having fun, i've just restarted playing a few days ago and i'm having a lot of fun too, though i'll tell you something: i used to spacebar during dialogues unless i was particularly interested in the scene or cinematic, and i couldnt be more of a fool. Now i'm replaying the Sith Sorcerer story (my favorite) and i enjoy each and every line of dialogue, and every mission i feel like doing. The voice acting is awesome and i already forgot almost all of the stuff i played last time, bc i havent played in quite a long time, so it's nice to replay it all. I'm an altaholic, have like 24+ characters, but i decided to replay the one i played for the first time, the sorcerer. Probably after that i'll go for sniper, or maybe gunslinger/scoundrel. Well anyway, good luck, maybe we'll cross paths somewhere in a swamp or forest or suburb, the galaxy is huge and there are tons of stuff to do. Have fun
  7. I personally do, and i look for the last seller who truly decreased the price by a reasonable amount, no matter it takes me 15 seconds more to find it. Plenty of items i see, specially dyes and stuff like that, happen to be listed 50, 10 credits below or event 1 credit below than the previous seller. I know we all want to ammass every credit possible, but personally i think it's short of despicable, if you wanna undercut another seller so that your items are listed before, at least offer a larger discount. I know probably ppl dont even pay attention to that, but i always do, and i'd never buy that sort of items, i cant stand that sort of stingy behavior, seems like unfair to me, abusing the pricing system in such a way.
  8. Look op, i get what you say, i really do. But still, you gotta consider whether spending money in this game is worth it to you or not. For quite a lot of time, i was one of those players who repeatedly asked for direct sales. Lootboxes have always been a bad practice, specially in this game where they are absolute trash, at least in other games you get lootboxes for leveling, events etc and the rewards are often better, but in swtor they are obscenely overpriced and provide with just junk. When direct sales arrived, i was glad though. However, i think the prices for direct sales are way, way too high. For instance, i wanted to get an Unstable Peacemaker lightsaber, but the thing is 5100 CC, almost what you get for 35 euros LOL. 35 euros for a single lightsaber, absurd. With that money, i can get 2-3 AAA games in the Steam Halloween or Christmas sales, or a bunch of stuff in other online games. I got the saber only bc i had like 6k coins sitting there from my sub, and there is truly nothing else i want, considering i already own most armor sets, weapons, mounts, etc. So, consider carefully what you can get for that money, and if the CM item is not worth that much for you, dont buy it. Let others maintain the game.
  9. Totally agree. Even though i plan on replaying Kotfe/et on my new sorc, it is actually a bit of a pain in the rear, simply bc i cant play it with my favorite companions. Also, i hope the Lana romance doesnt glitch, ffs.
  10. Hello my dudes! So, after 1 year or so away, i just resubbed, and the first thing i do of course is come to the FORUMS! I resubbed because i'm liking the way the Ossus expac is looking, and also because nostalgia. My aim is to replay the whole game once more with my favorite class, a sorcerer. I'm going to play the game exclusively solo, but i really have no idea about the order in which i should play the expansions, fps and all that. As far as i know, it should be something like: 1-The levels 1-50 class story (no idea which fps have solo mode, and in which order i should play them). 2-The Ilum storyline. 3-Rise of the Hutt Cartel. 4-Shadow of Revan? 5-Kotfe/Kotet?? 6-Iokath/Umbara/Copero??? 7-???? 8-Ossus, once launched. So, a bit of help or some guide would be helpful here. Also any tips or advice are totally welcome. As of right now, i have unlocked the most "expensive" armor sets, mounts and weapons bc i enjoy when my toons look the way i like. I'm one of those players with 10 outfit tabs, and i change the looks of my toon regularly so as to not get bored lol. I'm heading to the character creator, it takes me a good while to create a new character, i'm an altaholic who has trouble coming up with new names so i'll need some time. Also, i wanna thank the devs for making almost "everything" directly purchasable. I wish they did it way, way sooner. Maybe we'll cross paths in some suburb, swamp, forest or desert in this huge galaxy. Thanks for your answers, in case there is any
  11. So you are defending the fact that a bunch of greedy lucky ppl who got the tunings in the packs can ask for absurd prices in the gtn and completely control the market. And not only that but you go as far as calling names. Classy. Well, your gtn prices can rot as far as i'm concerned. This allows me to have 1-2 tuning that i'm interested in and that have a ridiculous price in the gtn. It's about time they make more frequent and extensive direct sales so that regular ppl can have the items they want instead of having to cope with a small bunch of individuals who control the market at their will.
  12. I came back in December or so, after a few months break. In my case, i love the story and i'm replaying some classes, currently on Makeb with a new sith sorcerer i made, and i plan on replaying the Imperial Agent story, as well as playing for the first time the Trooper, Smuggler and Consular stories, the only ones i've never played. There's doom and gloom in the forums, every day. What opinion do i have? Well, i think the game will be alive for quite a while, maybe 2-3 years or so, but this is just my gut feeling though. As long as i'm having fun (and i am having fun) i'll keep playing. The server merges have made the game feel very much alive again, at least in the Darth Malgus server. I've tried a bit of pvp and fps here and there, and they pop reasonably fast. So, my advice is, if you feel like playing, go ahead. You never know when the game may shut down, but lets hope that day is still far away. Create a character, and enjoy the story, the voiceacting, the questing, get lost in suburbs, in forests, in swamps and deserts, and just enjoy this beautiful game, because even with the many flaws it may have, it is indeed a beautiful game. Play pvp and pve with others, experience the game and walk the galaxy once more, it is totally worth it imo.
  13. Such compelling, thought-provoking argument, i'm astonished. It sure took you long to come up with that. How can you go as far as judging whether or not someone is lazy or wants stuff handed to them? I guess you wanted the discussion handed to you, amirite? Seriously, the neo conservative crap is old already.
  14. Same here. I mean, i dont think the op had particularly bad manners or anything, if we stick to what he described, he actually didnt show any bad manners, just left. However, i've already seen my fair share of arrogance, elitism and also bad manners to cope with it anymore. It was the op's prerrogative to leave, as it is my prerrogative not to take part in group content in this game, never again. Dont come later crying bc not enough people does group content, though. Serves you ppl right.
  15. To me, it just seems a reference to Dead Space.
  16. It's usually during summer, when the Hutts celebrate this traditional and distinctive fiesta of non stop gambling.
  17. Darth Malgus player here (previously Red Eclipse), and i totally disagree with the population going down. I came back from my break in november too, playing up until now. I've seen consistently 2-3 instances in the starter planets and Dromund Kaas/Coruscant. The planets beyond Balmorra have usually 1-2 instances, with plenty of ppl. There's often 2-3 instances on the fleet, sometimes even 4, and usually 2 of those are totally full. That's not counting ppl who are in Wzs, fps and strongholds, which are plenty. I remember perfectly there were around 15-35 ppl on Belsavis before; i did Belsavis yesterday with my new Sorc and there were 50-60 ppl at all times. I even play at odd times such as 2-3 am, and even then i can see like 40-60 ppl in the fleet or starter planets, while previously you could only see like 20 ppl. The merges have made the game feel alive again, that's for sure. How long that will last though, we shall see.
  18. I said it long ago. The appreciation threads got so much out of hand that they just lost all value already. It's simply a joke.
  19. If this game dies, i'm done with EA for good. Also, here's hoping Anthem flops real hard. If there's no SWTOR, EA might as well dissappear, as far as i'm concerned.
  20. I just couldnt care less for Voss and its people. Balmorra comes as a close second, i've done it so many times it's just way too boring. Honorable mentions to Alderaan and Taris.
  21. The strongest one hands down is the Sith Inquisitor. The reasons are that both the Inquisitor and the Consular have an army to back them, but in the case of the inquisitor he binds several force spirits increasing his/her power beyond any limits. Also, such is the power he gains that he actually rebuilds his body, making it completely new in order for his body to contain all that power which otherwise could not be contained by any being whatsoever. Not only that, but he prolongs his life by an unknown amount of years while in Rishi. Yes non-force users are supposed to be outstanding combatants, truly impressive individuals with top notch equipment that makes them almost super humans (or super-anything). But we all know force users are way out of their league, no normal person would withstand being choked or electrified by lightning, that's all. All force using classes are superior in every way except for gadgets, but because they dont need them at all. And, among force users, the Inquisitor is no doubt the most powerful one for the reasons stated above, there's no more to it. If it werent for those force ghosts, all force users would be probably about the same powerlevel. But the Inquisitor's story makes it very clear that you are one of the most powerful beings in the galaxy.
  22. It was funny to me too. I wanted it but was not gonna pay for it or throw a tantrum like others did, it wasnt that big of a deal, for me at least. And now, i got it for free, lol. What a pranksters they are at BW
  23. Paradoxically, and if we are correctly interpreting the conditions, no you wont. If you subscribed then you will only get the armor set and the mount, if im not mistaken. All of us who were already subscribed and planned on staying subscribed wont get those 30 free days of sub. Imo, they should award a free month of sub for those subscribers that use the code, but hey im happy with what i got too. Besides, it seems to me like a huge slap in the face for those who spent millions buying something that now we get totally for free lol.
  24. The Dark Side classes have far superior animations to those of the Light Side. The Sorcerer simply shoots all types of lightning towards enemies, i mean, who doesnt want to do that? We've seen it in the movies repeatedly, it's awesome and gives you a true feeling of power. Also, the Warrior can push, saber throw and force choke. Really, Force Choke. So, you get to be a copy of the most famous villain of all times, Darth Vader. You choke ppl, throw them away and everything, simply fabulous. The knight and Consular? Well, you throw pebbles, pieces of rocks (pffft) and 'force stasis'. Riiight, force stasis is amazing in the movies too kappa... I mean, compare the abilities and how iconic they are. Lightning, choke>>>>>>>>>>pebbles, paralysis.
