  1. I would much rather visit a community-owned site then a corporate-owned site any day. The only issue is that company products in this case generally always carry the bulk to traffic and the little guy (community site) has to fight to stay afloat. If there was some form of endorsement from Bioware with adverisement then it'd probably help the situation for the little guy but I just don't see that happening. It woud greatly increase marketing and advertisement for the game overall if Bioware was to, for example, place community-run ads on the forums here. Much like seen in a wide rage of other social and community forums these days. They help generae revenue and also further expand the community. For the time being I would rather see this MMO get individual server forums then getting treated like a 3rd rate citizen from a 3rd world country. It's no secret that Bioware support is non-existant, nearly takes a week to generate a response from them....even in the case of tickets. My company carries a 24-48 hour policey for general inquires, someone would be fired if they waited a week to respond. A little improvement in their communications would go a long way to foster this growing community.
  2. Yes, The bigger man admits defeat and/or when wrong. Bioware should be the bigger man in this case and simply admit to being wrong under initial decisions.
  3. Pre-launch had far less servers and players. The Guild Hall is a mess due to the over population problem and lack of organization. No matter how much moderation is done it's still a disaster when trying to sort through endless amounts of pages to locate the one for your server.
  4. I disagree. Very little info can be shared between servers. No matter how you look at things, every server is unique. Economies differ, guilds differ, players differ, PvP differs. No two servers are the same, and thus it makes no sense to group them together. Player "A" on in Guild "F" on Server "H" doesn't care nor do they want to be bothered with having to read topics regarding PvP, Looting, Farming, GTN prices, Guild Recruitments, etc. from Player "B", "C", and "D" from Guilds "R", "S", and "T" on server "E". Furthermore, we are not just talking about two servers here, we are talking about a handful since they are wanting to group in alphabeticall order. Just because you are tossing 5 PVE servers together in one forum doesn't mean it's more efficient, it simply means players on those servers have to be troubled with searching through endless pages of stuff that doesn't pertain to their server. The same problem exists right now in the Guild Hall forum section, just on a larger scale. All they are doing is taking a turd and polishing it more. The Guild Hall has failed in it's current state. They already acknowledged that in this thread. Additonally, they are correcting the matter by applying the same concept to server forums. That doesn't really make much sense to do now does it?
  5. Which is why we now see people running around with characters called "bigtits", "monkeyballs", "rapeape", "donkeydik", "carebear", "lawlz", "haxorz", etc etc etc etc And let's not forget silly guild names either. It's funny at times but really it's getting old.
  6. Good point there, Infact, most companies will hire a "Subject Matter Expert (SME)" when venturing down a path they have no knowledge of. In this case it appears they either A) Didn't hire a MMO SME or B) Hired a very poor MMO SME. In either case it's quite clear they have no idea what they are doing at the moment.
  7. Trust me, I understand your position. I run a handful of nation-wide forums that carry thousands of members and hold large annual events (in real life). But I think you may have missed the announcement where Bioware is giving server forums to us now, but in a very unorganized and lazy fashion. I am not trying to recoupe any funds for myself, I didn't start a server forum. I am looking out for all of you who did start a server forum, due to Bioware's lack there of and official statement that they are not providing server forums, only later to find that Bioware realized their mistake and decided to do the opposite. I know the challenges behind creating a community, I've created handfuls of them from scratch over the years. The problem here is in the very soul of the issue that Bioware created a burden on their customers and "should", in my opinion, compensate those customers who have racked up out-of-pocket expenses to fill the gap Bioware created. Am I saying Bioware has a legal obligationt to do this? Of course not, if you note my employment title in my profile you'll know I'm a little more savvy then that. What I am saying is it's simply piss poor business on Bioware's part for creating this mess, yes it is a mess. Several members on here have created sites to provide "all" server forums, which is fine and dandy until Bioware see's that they were indeed wrong in their decision and are now trying to make good. Those afore mentioned members/customers have spent anywhere from $25 to $300, and in some cases more. I think it's absolutely wrong of Bioware to ignore this fact and not compensate those customers. I will go out on a limb here and say that I don't expect Bioware to shell out hard-checks to everyone involved but it would be nice to see those upstanding customers receive some game-time credit.
  8. I agree, this is so trivial and basic, we shouldn't have to ask. Additionally I'd like to note for everyone reading this that I got a warning earlier from the CommunitySupport for being rude to someone. Seriously? They give warnings for that? Where's the button for me to issue a warning to Bioware for not having server forums, and then issue them a infraction for giving us Server Group Forums that we didn't ask for?
  9. It appears to me that they are trying to create a work-around to hiring more employees (ie: grouping servers into forums).
  10. ISBoxer also increases SWTOR performance and also gets rid of the annoying "loading screen" when alt+tabbed
  11. And all the along the issue was Bioware put a really low population cap on all the servers, when infact they could have simply increased the cap instead of adding 100 more servers that are now completely empty.
  12. Bioware is infact being a stubborn old mule. They are treating us like used car shoppers at a used car lot and they are the salesmen. We show up to buy a car and then try to sell us a truck because they think they know best. We ask for a 4 door sedan and then they show us a double decker bus. It really is quite simple here, customers ask for "X", give them "X", not "Z". This is a industry standard feature. Even more so, it took them a month to further respond to this issue. 1 month? This was identified day 1 of early access and all we got then was (well, this is how we want it to be, so deal with it)

  14. Thanks for the link! I'm quite pleased to see the word is spreading all over, more and more customers are becoming aware of the situation. While Bioware is making a effort to correct the problem, it's still disappointing that they are reluctant to give the customers what they truly want and are asking for. As time goes on I'm confident that we'll get what we want so long as we continue to keep the fire on Bioware's feet. I don't work too far from EA's large office building in FL. Maybe I should just take a camera crew and go pay them a visit
  15. You misunderstood the analogy, completely You are trying to debate key points that have been disputed already in ( http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=3500 ) So, in your mind, if there's "empty servers", it's best to just toss them into the mix of things with servers that are not empty? Instead of just identifying the shortfall and then getting rid of it? It's no secret, everyone knows there's tons of empty servers. It's already embarrassing. Infact, it's embarrassing more so that Bioware doesn't have individual server forums....since...that's a industry standard. You'd rather have Bioware trying to cover up mistakes by hiding the facts from people....covering up empty wastes of space and possibly directing innocent new players to empty voids with no one home? Maybe, you're just star struck and still a fanboi of Bioware's doings. In that case I'll recommend you read my previous comments on page 9 ( http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=173672&page=9 ) To each their own but I'll warn you that the more you post this nonsense the more I question your motive and employment. I'm confident you understand that. I will also remind you that this isn't a "traffic" issue, there's nothing in the topic of discussion that originally pointed that out as a key factor. Might I once again recommend you read up on ( http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=3500 ) and pay close attention to all of the responses from Bioware RE: Server Forums. Understand that one of the key points made was that Bioware could not provide ample manpower for moderation, hence piss poor management and business development, as noted on page 9 here. At this point, I expect you've read up on the main (Server Forums?) thread to which I've linked several times, and noted all of the responses from Bioware. Now I will ask you, what is your response to:
  16. It is next to impossible to do it now
  17. Ah well yes in that sense you are right I will haze myself later
  18. Individual server forums would be a start ( http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=3500 )
  19. That's where you are wrong. Noted several pages deep in http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=3500 I cleary listed the exact steps in vBulletin (the forum software here) just how easy it is to make forum sections. 2 interns at Bioware could accomplish this in a few hours or less. It's really not that hard. To me, Bioware spent more time figuring out how to skirt around the community demand in ( http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=3500 ) then they actually did/will spend on creating the forum sections. I would love to see their whiteboard of madness where they all put their "best thing since sliced bread" ideas down for telling all of us what we really want.
  20. To put this simply, There's a lack of posting due to poor forum layout. I can say that the majority of my posts have all been in the low traffic section (Community) because I don't have to scroll through pages of threads to find stuff. The rest of the forum is worthless in it's current layout. My earlier analogy in the (server forums?) thread said it best, Taking 500 people and expecting them to stand inside a 30x30 room to communicate with eachother. What we infact have is not far from that, with 53 forum sections where (over a million?) customers have to communicate? Of course I don't know the total sales/customer numbers but it's still quite clear and evident that there's too many people and not enough space here. Hence the need for individual server forums. Additionally, as I laid out in my post/s on page 9, it would be a good thing for everyone to recognize the empty server, then they can be avoided and Bioware care get rid of them. Why horde 150 servers when only 90 are needed?
