  1. Thats sounds very funny from someone who is flying almost exclusively GS. Stop blaming Reps, I believe that both sides have a lot of dedicated GS/Bomber pilots. From Rep point of view it seems that Imps are using much more GS/Bomber combo. But people tend to check more opposing side than their own, so it is probably a draw.
  2. Really great idea, but it seems nobody knows about that It would need some more promotion. Progenitor is fortunately not full of "pro" hardcore GSF pilots, but it makes any GSF event a little more difficult to spread. I have asked in two games if someone knows about that and after no respond I gave up.
  3. This sounds like a GS pilot crying. And to use your own insulting attempt - GS actually have to use brains to kill the any ship, can't just snipe ships from distance without situation awareness. Whats wrong with GS weaknes against Scouts at all? It´s rock, paper , scissor. Bombers are weak against GS so according your warped logic, next update should be a bomber with railgun? It is good to question sometimes yourself "Will this bring balance to the force...I mean GSF...or it is too much OP?"
  4. These are exactly my thoughts. Why for Sith sake GS need ability for dogfight? At the beginning had players still common sense and proposals for GS with ability to close fight were rejected because of balance. You have weapon with longest range (without any warning unlike guided missile) as an exchange for inability on close range. It is the essence of each class that it has advantages and disadvantages. Now it is welcomed as great thing, the poor oppressed GS has finaly some chance to defend itself. What about scout with bomber hull or Striker pooping mines? Or is this way how to create ultimate ballanced ship - fast and maneuvering as a scout (with its close range wweapons of course), durable as a bomber, long range weapons from GS and mines and probes of bomber. It is a little bit shame that it in fact need nothing from Strike, but it will be not forgotten (remain in the game name - GSF) Seems like a lot of people drowned in their own feeling of how awesome they are and universal answering "Learn to play". This way is GSF going to fall into the "all new ships must be a much better than old" spiral. Race to master each new ship and dominate battlefield till new update. Althought I must admit that it bring unintended element of the real war technological progress.
  5. Good that you mentioned Rogue squadron and X-Wing games. They were same in one important thing. They used things which were already in SW universe. No sniper ship or heavily armored minelayer. There are lots of different ships in the SW, it was no need to create weird hybrids of ship and FPS class. What about to add Borg cube with inpenetrable shield or some Japanese big robot (which would have pink explosions)? No bigger targets, your ship need to be bigger! GSF could be easily modified to GSC - Galactic StarCruiser. Ship model would be changed from fighters to cruisers and speed and maneuvering reduced. The surrounding environment proportionaly scaled down and instead farting mines you would release fighter squadron or boarding shuttles. Epic star battles are waiting
  6. It would be good to have BioWare statistic about development of GSF player base. If it still rising, then you are right and it is good to leave things as they are. But if it is stagnating or even declining, any attempt to change something (it may not necessarily apply to group/solo queue) would be good.
  7. Nothing is going change. I have already wrote that there is no way how to stop premades flying against solo. I just found their arguments against separate queues hilarious. Mainly because I think that nobody proposed to get rid of group queue, just separate them. Argue against that with statetements like "If I would not be able to play with friend, I will a) stop playing GSF b) sabotage matches etc." is then reasonless. Nobody is taking their toy. IMHO worse problem than any possible premade issue is great unbalance between Strike/Scouts and GS/Bombers. Stack Strikes or Scouts and nothing happens (maybe match will be more fun), stack GS/Bombers and one side will have real problem if it is not able to stack them too.
  8. So it is OK when solo queue are annoyed because they are overtaken in line by premade waiting as group queue? They can then sabotage match because of that? Please stop argumenting with "playing with friends". It is obviously fiction which you have already confirmed or is anyone who is incidentaly taken to group (and playing first match) immediately your friend? Matches where was never a challenge aren´t fun? So that´s reason why premade fly so often with GS and bombers against strikes and scouts. Because it is challenging
  9. Unfortunately there is really no way how to stop premade even with only SOLO queue. But these arguments are really amazing: Confession that for people playing as premade is sportmanship really unknown word or direct threat? Why annoyed groups? Because premade would be forced to play against another premade? Or because it could turn out that premades are on the most servers just minority annoying all other players? It is not dream of premades to play against challenging opponents and not bunch of newbies?
  10. Actually even technology in the KOTOR is too much advanced. If you get a chance, try to get (or just read) a comics which first introduced that SW era, e.g. Tales of the Jedi: The Sith War. There are ships and weapons how they could be expected a few thousands years before EP 4. Totally different. Just be prepared that these comics are very old (there were not even EP 1-3 in that time) so they can seems a little odd nowadays. I guess that it was need to bring KOTOR technology closer to movies, so game will be better recognizable as SW. Where KOTOR still held back (like personal equipment), TOR went ahead and directly took things from Clone/Empire era. For MMORPG was probably even more important to give players a sense of being part of commonly know SW universe. Summarized, originally there was great difference in technologies which was gradually lost with games. Regarding movies it is better to not think about small things (like are touchscreens with detailed holograms everywhere in the EP 1-3 contrasting with low resolutions monitors in the EP 4-6).
  11. There is surprisingly reason for such expecting. SWTOR is in fact...wait for it...game based on the Star Wars. So some people like SW and want to enjoy its mechanisms. There is huge amount of shooting games everywhere on net, but only few are SW. If someone wants completly ordinary PvP (with classical snipers, engineers etc.), then he/she can pick up any online game. SW style is that what is supposed to differ GSF from other shooting games.
  12. It seems more like crying over how good some ships are, not how good some people are. People complained about OP scouts in the past, things changed and most people probably agree that it definitely helped a game. I would improve a little bit this statement, so it would sound more persuasively. GSF is MY game and it is not game for everyone! Obey my rules and I will maybe let you play (as cannon fodder of course, but you should be happy about that).
  13. Thank you for explaining. But you could save a couple of e-letters. Problem is not in DF itself, problem is in duration of that. Also that this strange behaviour appeared even on the GS. 1) GS with boost is know for ability to one shot strike, but can strike realy one shot another strike? I consider as one shot killing ship with full shield and hull. Already damaged ship can be hardly considered as one shot since it was obviously already hit. That´s a pretty big generalization, since no one here said that "every good pilot". I have experienced weird behaviour only in a very very small fraction of all played GSF games. So please don´t fall into "You just don´t understand game mechanics"
  14. Yes, I´m well aware that it would prolonged queue time. But that would be at least amazing experiment about how many people prefer pure dogfight and how many like more complex battles with GS and bombers. Because I believe that lots of veterans would gladly accept fights with only fighters and scouts. People complaining about to fly their precious GS or bomber is their right and they should be not forced to play with ship witch they don´t like. But if you are against 4x GS, what can you do? These 4 GS are forcing opposing team to use GS too (if they have luck and someone in team has GS). What if we revert standard declaration "Do not like flying with GS/bomber? That´s your problem, not mine." to "Do not like flying with striker/scout? That´s your problem, not mine" So I don´t consider premade as root of all evil. If premade would be good guys, I would even let them group queue in only strike/scout matches. For me is rotten part of GSF presence of GS (sniper plane - that does not fit even in to the SW world) and bombers (where almost all work is done by AI and upgrades are more important than skill). Side note to anyone who like to using enlightenment "Learn to fly!". I consider myself as slightly above average pilot and I can shot down GS and sometimes even bomber so it´s not just excusing for my inability. I agree with your two points. Better tutorial can be helpfull. For a start would be good if player can fly it with ship which actualy have avaiable and not just one default (with totaly different ship abilities). This can´t be hard to implement. Better matchmaking is need to, but I must admit that it could be very hard to evaluate which pilot is good. Surely there is no excuse for wargames with one team full of experienced pilot with 5 ships (without being all premade) against new guys with 2 ships. That´s just pure fail.
  15. My main reason for separate queues is to separate "advanced space battles" from normal dogfighting avaiable to all players, not completly get rid of premade groups. That´s not even possible. Why would be newbies punished more when solo queues? They would fly at least against same type of ship which they have, so they can learn some tricks Agree. There is no way how to stop premade and no reason to punish them. Removing of newbies to be farmed by GS or Bomber is not punishing or it is? This is what I dont understand. Most people say that premades dont have any advantage because they in fact dont communicate during game, do not focus on someone etc. So why they even gruping? If it is for overtake place of solo players in queues, then it is wrong. All should have same time. If it is for chat, there is no reason for group queue at all. You can chat without that.
  16. As it was several times suggested in some threads, solution could be separate queues. One without limits and one allowing just basic ships (strikes and scouts) and just solo queue. YES, it would lead definitely to longer waiting time, but there are also advantages: For example most important for me would be more fun for ordinary players. GSF is mostly arcade game so lots of people enjoy just thrill of pure dogfight. I dont understant what is so much funny on sitting whole game on satelite and farting mines or shooting from safe distance, but this would not dissapear. People who like this type of game would still be able to do it, just with probably much smaller group of people who like it too. Common objection is that veterans still will be able to farm newbies. Yes, that´s true. But without bombers (Domination) and GS (Deathmatch) these veterans must fly in to the enemies and get their hands dirty. In terms of learning how to fly it is very different to be killed by mines or shot from far distance and to be outmaneuvered . Many people says that farming newbies is not fun and that they don´t like it. But any attempt to change current status is rejected with anger. It seems like some people in fact enjoy farming and just dont want to change anything.
  17. I agree that there are happening weird things in the GSF sometimes. The most interesting thing is ability of some ships to be unhitable for long time. Blaster fire and rockets hit the ship but do no damage. Since I have seen this ability mostly on Scouts and one GS, I would bet on some kind of abusing Distortion field. Like some game bug witch alows to use this ability for abnormaly long time. I have experienced one shot killing from scout or strike a few times during Deathmatch. It was very strange but I have credited it to extremely lucky combination of damage boost and critical hit. Funny part of this is that people which saying "There is definitely no way how could anyone cheat, that it is just skill" are sometimes convicted for cheating at the end.

  19. I have easy to implement solution for bomber problem in Dominion (I don´t care about bombers in TDM, since there can´t ruine game for everyone). Stop counting assists and kills made by mines in to the bombers final score It will not stop bomber stacking strategy itself, but they will be not awarded for circling around satelite at least. Seriously, every other ship in game requires some effort during game except bomber.
  20. Just two notes: 1. Using score from TDM where someone used Gunship (even without upgrades) against new players is supposed to be prove of what? Of course that experienced pilots will annihilate newbies no matter of used ship. 2. But this picture prove only Skill > No skill. Or do you think that oponents had fully upgraded ships?   21. That would be best change for GSF Bombers totally ruined Dominion games. Players who do nothing except sitting under satelite and dropping mines are most effective. Whole concept of ship where most of work is done by AI is nonsense. Scouts are fine as they are now, just BLC need some downgrade. It is really weird that such small ship has so much firepower. Strikers are also good as they are, just waiting for some balance tuning of other ships. Most enjoyable are games with only strikers and scouts. Gunships got what they deserved from the beginning. End of free shooting range with low risk. And for me is Denon worst map ever. Too much big given the arcade style of GSF. Lots of time spend by boosting to satelite. Background with fighting main ships is nice at first sight, but it is just background. You can´t participate and help to shot down some big ship
  22. Here is the reason why your whole post is incorrect: GSF is not war , it is a game. Games are supposed to be fair. That´s why people play games. Now we must just wait for someone, who will bring balance to the Force...I mean GSF.
  23. I would say try to go capture satelite, which is main point of Dominion type of game. You will not win with shooting drones and mines (or even bombers). You can even lead score board at the end, but your team will have score 0. Then you will maybe see the issue So all will take bombers because thats only way to do better. Surprisingly lots of people is alreading doing this. Therefore Dominion is not need to play anymore. Just count Bombers and team with more bombers is winner. It will be simply and fast
  24. I would say that its depending on the type of game. Dominion is becoming Bombers parade. Two games in row, two times were bombers half of whole adversary team suplemented with several gunships. All what they needed to do is fly to satelite, dump mines, drones and fly around. You can shot down one bomber (or Gunship), but it take some time. Meanwhile are all other satelites spammed with mines and drones. Entertaining way to victory and getting better score (if you are fan of camping and waiting for mines and drones to do your job). Deathmatch is still good for fighters and scouts, but chance to be shot by Gunship during dogfight is also quite large. And with more players which can afford gunship it will be even greater. Fortunately Deathmatch is not so friendly for Bomber camping (besides respawn camping). I wonder if this is direction which designers of GSF want to go - less dogfight, more camping. GSF is rapidly loosing FUN factor for me. It would be nice to know if this is intention, so I can stop hope for changes for the better.
  25. Actually you should use definition from real world, which is also used in GSF. As "ACE" is recognized anyone who shot down 5 enemy planes. That´s all. So probably almost each GSF player can rightfully use title Ace
