  1. Yes, I agree totally. I really thought when I went to bed that it would all be in one mega thread, as has been done before. I never imagined they would axe all the threads but one. Cannot say I'm super surprised though.
  2. You didn't think they were gonna leave them did you? When I went to bed at 2am pacific time, I went to quickly grab a torrent, and looked in and counted 12 front page topics about the same subject. Now I just thought they would merge them, but they did contain links (some of them) to data mined info, so it's not surprising.
  3. I could be wrong, but the general consensus on this is that we would pretty much all take slicing at 500, so they chose two and gave one for force users and one for tech users. Do I think it is right or a good thing? My opinion does not matter. It's the way they set it up. All we can ever hope is that our feedback is taken into account. Not to be that guy, but I've wanted to say this forever: They will get right on it. SOON
  4. As much as I wish Marr would live, his force ghost communing with Satele Shan on Odessen kind of makes me think it will not happen. Now if he was in carbonite like we were, could he project himself as a force entity all the way over to hang out at Satele's hobo camp? To answer that question we would have to get into a theoretical discussion of force powers, and Marr's power, and a force users abilities while frozen in carbonite. Still would be cool though. Also, I am in agreement with a poster above me about HK-55, in thinking we will be able to repair him at a later date. At least I hope so, I was sad to see him die, he was my favorite new companion.
  5. While I am of the opinion that the price for said set is a bit high, for my tastes anyway, I do find the fact that the set is there for direct purchase to be pretty neat. They did say that they were going to make previous gambling sets available for direct purchase sometimes and they are starting to do it. I think that in and of itself bodes well. IMO some of us I think would really like to see more stuff available for direct buy rather then the packs but I also know that the packs make them booku bucks. This may be the beginning of a good compromise.
  6. I am thinking that yes they were released with no custom options to get the game out in time, and I am also of the opinion that some of them may not be around at the last chapter so they didn't wanna waste the resources on companions that are gonna die anyway, even if its just a couple or one of them, since it would give it away if just companion a and b (that die) cannot be dressed but the rest can. Who knows though really, we are all just speculating at this point.
  7. Let me tell you the trick. I sent in a ticket yesterday morning and got an email from them just hours later with great help that solved my problem. First off, always click the general/other subject, I guess those are looked at by real people. Next, always be cordial, or cool with them. I always start out my tickets with something like " Hey CS, how are you guys today? I know you guys are probably slammed with work and I hate to take up your time, but I got something I need you guys to take a look at." Then list your problem clearly, and finish up with something like "Just wanna thank you guys for your time, any help you can give would be really appreciated, keep up the good work." Maybe throw in a quasi-personal question, I asked how they were liking the new story line for kotfe. Bada bing bada boom, I always get a good response. Now the recurring theme is I was treating them like human beings who are just doing a job and I tried to make them feel appreciated. Now, I'm not suggesting you didn't do this, I just thought I would give another avenue of approach since it always works for me. I truly believe the tickets that are demanding and rude are 'accidentally' deleted or 'lost'. Just something to think about.
  8. I've had this happen to me a number of times and though it was funny, it has started to become annoying. I have also encountered a problem with the same mechanic, but after i click the grapple, it brings me to the other side, and then promptly teleports me a few feet behind, standing over nothing. Wile E. Coyote style. Though that has only happened a couple times. I also am really weirded out by my companion, every time I fight the praetorian skytrooper, and then walk over the light bridge to the right, she just dies. Every. Single. Time. I must admit, it makes me chuckle, and it only takes a second to get them back but a few months from now, I'm sure it won't be so funny. These are for sure not the most important bugs but definitely worth mentioning.
  9. 5 reason why Eric Musco should go to ops house and kick his dog. I kid, but seriously this is kinda shameful, when a man lets his alligator mouth overload his hummingbird ahole. I think many of us would like more communication but we have zero knowledge of what EA's rules are. For all we know he could be fighting his bosses daily to tell us more and we would never know. Cut dude some slack, he's low man on the totem pole and probably tells us exactly what he is told to tell us.
  10. Just one caveat, Jakku is an actual planet, it's in the end of one of the new cannon books, a bassacwards scavenger planet. An end of the line kind of place.
  11. IIRC they took those datacubes out didn't they, because of complaining about buying quests. I'm surprised they can be found in the new grand packs. I always thought they were kind of neat, and rad that you could get a set of gear if you did them all. Was it a bronze toy pack? I may try to finish my collection.
  12. I really don't get all the hate towards the CS people. They either can help you or they cannot. They are not gods, they don't run anything, they are average folks like the rest of us, at work. Most of the CS I've dealt with are also players of this game and can understand and empathize with a lot our concerns. If you treat them like sht though, why would they wanna do anything for you. Maybe it's just me, but I've had stellar service from CS when I call. I just treat them like a person, it goes a long way. Little things like: "hey I know you guys are probably swamped, so thanks for taking the time to help." or "I really appreciate this." Making someone feel like their work is appreciated goes a long way and they may just go the extra mile. Quite a few times, after resolving my issue, they have done something nice, like mail all my toons on my server a major xp boost. As for your complaint about not getting your characters restored, give them the info they ask for, treat them with the respect you think you deserve and I bet your characters will be returned to you in short order. I must say though, if I was CS and you came at me sideways, I'd put out a memo with your name so you'd never get em back.
  13. I think that this is correct. In my opinion though, I think it would go a long way and earn some goodwill with the people affected with this issue if Eric or Tait could pop in and just say "hey guys, we know this is an issue affecting you, we are working to get it fixed. We understand this is affecting your game play but if you could be patient, we have no ETA but we will get you an update as soon as possible." I really, in my opinion, don't think it would be very hard for Eric to take 2 minutes to post something like that. Now I really hope it's just my tinfoil hat telling me that they haven't spoken on it cause it's a very good selling item, and they don't wanna muck that up. It would also be a shame if Eric wanted to post something but was being held back by policy or higherups. Eric, if your under duress BLINK TWICE.
  14. I was thinking about this issue as I read over this thread and I wanna point out a good example of what I think people are saying they want. It was easy for some of us to miss but over in the cartel market suggestions forum are two stickied threads by a BW dev named Toby. In those threads he asked for good feedback from the community about the new alliance pack and the new bronze, silver, gold packs. Now, I really only read the alliance pack thread but the replies were mostly mature, informative and exactly what Toby had asked for. Now, after about 10 pages Toby replied again, it was clear that he or maybe his team had read the responses, and he summarized each important point he thought the community was making and what he thought their concerns were. Then he said they would be looking into the feedback and maybe the packs will change because of it. Now, I know the new packs were a sore point for some of the community. What Toby did should be commended and maybe he should give pointers to the community team. He asked, listened, made clear he heard our concerns and made it so the people that gave feedback knew it. Now, they might never change those packs, or the feedback might help them choose a new style, but the way he handled the whole thread was great. If the community team could be forward and direct with us like that, along with the humor that Eric and Tait have, it would be so great. Now, maybe, as some have stated, they are held back by the marketing dept. or EA policy, and if so then that sucks, but if not, in my opinion I think they could do much better then they do now. To be clear, I like Eric and Tait, I've always had good CS when I call, and once from a ticket, so this isn't an attack on them. Anyway, that's just one guys thoughts. (sorry if any thoughts were incomplete, I'm typing this in between trying to make my 3yr old eat his lunch)
  15. HA, almost the same, but I gotta give my kid a bath.
  16. A moment of silence for the Shadowlands, who just a little while ago heroically jumped in front of a bullet meant for the harby.
  17. The mission to get Xalek isn't on any base, I just finished it before the shadowlands jumped in front of a bullet meant for the harby. It is a lot of driving though, I had to go around a base or two, but you should be able to get it done without driving on any enemy bases.
  18. Sweet! Nice to know I'm not losing it in my not yet middle age.
  19. The gear that is dead on the dread masters is the force lords set of, I wanna say battlemaster, but I think that's wrong. It's an older set of pvp gear, and it's craftable. You may wanna ask on your fleet, after getting the exact name right, and see if anyone can craft it, or make a post in your server's forum section asking for the same. The cartel mart did a re-skin of that set calling it the tranquil mystics set, but it was garishly colored and didn't dye right. I'm sorry I can't remember the exact name of the set but I hope I've set you on the right track.
  20. I really have to give it up to Toby. This thread and the other were top notch. He asked for feedback, received it, obviously he read it all or someone did and he got a summery. He then replied in a good timely fashion, letting us know we have been heard and that our feedback may actually go towards changing somethings some of us do not like. Now all that is obvious, but it seems to me that a lot of the problems folks have here is that they don't feel that BW cares. That no matter what they post, no one is listening, and you have to be lottery lucky to get a response. I think if the community team and devs acted more like this, people would have more trust and faith in bw. Who knows, there may be no change whatsoever but this thread really made it seem like someone over in Austin gave a sht. The fact that it was for the cartel mart not withstanding, lol. Anyway, just my observation.
  21. I was gonna do a post with the whole Valkorian telling his sons the things they are entitled to from the trailer, but it's early, and my kids think they are entitled to breakfast. It's the thought that counts though right?
  22. Mine dropped of a random mob on Makeb, I was dumbstruck. I really just sat there staring at my screen for like a whole minute thinking "are you fking serious?" After letting all my friends use it, I sold it for 30 million. I guess it really is just random, dumb luck.
