  1. I sometimes picture Dasty as a hutt with the voice of a southern lawyer.
  2. I just got home from work, put my son to bed and logged on. It felt like there were a lot of people imp side, and my new rep guild had like 30 people on. It felt pretty busy to me, but I really haven't played in a couple years, so maybe it's just being back, but it really seemed crowded on imp fleet.
  3. Nice to see you still fighting the good fight Nemio! I miss raiding with you guys.
  4. Are you sure you're not a salesman? You did pretty well if not. You painted a good picture, built the value. You came out the gate with the discounted price, I'd usually quote the 15 dollars first, so you have wiggle room, but you closed strong. All and all, a good 7 out of 10. (can't believe i feel the need to say this, not specifically to the quoted poster, but in general. That is a joke, if there are any other salesman reading, trying to get a chuckle.)
  5. Hey everyone, I'm returning after being gone since chapter 12 of kotfe. Been back maybe a week, and I did a fresh install of the game, with NO bitraider this time. I changed the value in the file, as I read here a few years back. My question is this: now that we have a maintenance, is there anything I have to do or change to make sure it doesn't try to give me a streaming client when I download the patch? I know this may seem obvious to some, but I've never had a non-streaming client as far as I can remember back to when I started the game somewhere around update 1.4. Now that I have bitraider gone, I never want it back, and I'm sure there are many that feel similar. Any answer is of course appreciated, was hoping to catch Owen Brooks around but an answer is an answer. I thank you in advance for your help.
  6. As someone just returning to the game after an extended absence, (my son broke my computer right before chapter 13 of kotfe) I am finding myself solo. It is fun, relaxing. I became a raider after I got into the game, in 2013 right when TFB dropped. I was not the best (shout out to Shred, Nemio, Jon and menta for , imo, carrying me all those years ) I had a blast doing it. Now that I've returned to find my guild empty, my server gone, my friends list gone, I have made my best effort to become a soloer. My work schedule and being a parent kinda necessitate my solo playstyle as much as my friends all being gone, but I just dont have the time I used to. It's neat to see it from this perspective, the soloist. I can see the appeal. Tho I must comment. I've lurked the forums almost every day of my jaunt from the game. Seen every fire, and controversy. I dont know what the answer is. I don't who's content is more important. Ideally everyones content should be important and included, within reason ofc. I can, however comment that the us vs. them, solo and story and pvp and operations cage match that happens here is a hinderance that drowns out real commentary and concerns. (in my opinion ofc.) I will also say, that reading through this thread, funny enough has made me really want to group with the people in the thread that have never experienced all the game offers, in a fun, non-pressure way. Then, of course we wouldn't be appreciating being solo players, would we.
  7. I'm surprised people still do this. We used to do it once a week when the event only came once in a blue moon, but now that it comes every month, I really don't see the point. There is only so many barnacles of the eyeless a guy can want anyway. The rare pet is cool though.
  8. This probably goes without saying, but in regards to the email/cartel coin thing; if my 3 boxes are already checked, BW will know this I assume and reward me the coin code? Maybe go in and uncheck, save recheck and save again? As I said, probably a given, but with BW these days, it pays to be sure.
  9. Did someone already say Valkorian?
  10. I am kinda surprised that no one has posted the fine print, and I'm cooking but I seem to remember reading in previous threads on this that you had to be a brand new subscriber or perhaps a new player that had never subscribed before. Now, this is just something I remembered when I read this thread and could be totally wrong. I do remember reading something like that though cause I am also a recurring subscriber and I wondered if I would receive a free month sub. Now if I am wrong, then ya that's pretty scummy. EDIT: Got beaten to the punch, and I remembered kind of correct.
  11. Man, Nemo, looks like you guys are having fun over here on BC again. I will have to log over and see the fellas.
  12. Sorry if this is cliche but I've wanted to say this for awhile. Infernixx nailed it. This is correct.
  13. Oh yes, that is quite the problem. I find their lack of response disturbing.
  14. I thought I scolded her pretty good, but I am really surprised about the inability of (most likely) adults, to read and comprehend before they post. Also, I'd like to make a correction to my own posts, I guess from what I am hearing from folks a lot smarter then me and here in the forums is that it wasn't really so much a rollback as everyone wasn't affected. I am not qualified to explain server mechanics so I won't try but maybe someone else can take a crack at it.
  15. Though I know there will be salt and outrage, I really love how the Life Day robes and a lot of the cartel decos from last year are available for purchase with snow covered parcels, of which i have hundreds from last year. This is a pretty fun little mini-game, with the over heated droids, and it will be crowded on NS for a few days for anyone new to the event, but worry not, the event is on for a whole month so you will have plenty of time. Let's get them snowballs throwing on fleet guys! (I know folks will be mad about the robes, but worry not, the special snowflake title will probably be available this year!)
  16. Quoted for truth. Let's get a response to this Eric. I understand your silence on a lot of issue's even if I dislike it but remaining silent about peoples real life cash money can't be good, can it?
  17. Man, can anyone tell me how reading has become so hard? This thread is not about cheaters, go rubberneck accidents on the freeway, the exploit gore is almost cleaned up. This is about the accidental glitch rollbacks that happened to two servers this weekend, where people lost up to 12 hours of game play, gtn sales, items crafted, raids completed and loot won, everything you can imagine if someone erased hours of your play time. On top of all that, some folks who had made cartel mart purchases with real life cash had the items become gone, due to the rollback, but the cartel coins were not returned. Eric's off the cuff response to the first rollback of harbinger server was basically a sorry about your luck, suck it up. (granted I believe it was said he posted that at 4 in the morning though I can't speak to the truth of that) People in this very thread reported that CS told them they were SOL with their real life cash losses. Now of course no one can verify and can only take at face value. (not calling anyone a liar) If this is true, which I believe, then it is something that is utterly unacceptable and anyone would be hard pressed to defend BW in this decision. Though I don't doubt someone will try. So, please, poster I quoted, put your glasses on next time you go to make a post without reading the actual thread, and chill on the exploit hate, it's ok to be happy people got punished but the deals over, they were punished to the satisfaction of some and over punished to the frustration of others, but what we really need, imo, is to move past it now that it is over. We need, imo, to get on as a community, there are many more issues.
  18. Dark matter catalyst. The rare ops mat needed to craft raiding gear such as 216 and 220 hilts and barrels. They are worth quite a bit on my server, maybe a million a pop, maybe a bit more maybe a bit less depending. To lose 43 is to lose a small fortune.
  19. Just a quick comment on this. Now, I'm not racist, but when I do phone business with customer service I expect someone who is competent in the language to be dealing with me, for myself, and I'll tell you why. My first call to BW cs, and I got a Hindi gentlemen that was very nice and was trying very hard but just could not overcome the barrier between us. He asked me to phonetically spell out the words I was saying, example: a as in apple, b as in boy, c as in car. It drove me up the wall. So, now when I call BW cs and I don't get someone who can speak competent english, I hang up and call back. This does take some time though, but after I started this, all my cs calls have gone superb. OT: This is ridiculous. I don't know if there are many people that can defend BW on this. This issue is unacceptable and Eric should be in here asap letting people that lost real money know what kind of quick action they will take to fix this, and or give people the steps they need to take to have this resolved.
  20. I can plus one to this also, very underwhelmed by the recent ambient offerings. My ocean sounds one was decent I thought until i left standing right next to it. The temple sounds, lol, can barely hear it at all. My jukeboxes as well. I was excited for the ambient machines, to give a little life to our places but, again, very underwhelmed. I have party chatter and tech lab, haven't used them yet, and don't know if I will even though I have rooms perfect for them.
  21. I am all for this, hoping we don't get more legacy storage problems like when we couldn't put armor boxes in it. I do think it's a great idea sarfux, I just am low on confidence that we would put all our millions and millions of credits in there and then come back and poof! with no recourse. I guess maybe I need some coffee, great idea though.
