  1. I made the mistake of buying that Odessen pass on alt that hadn't started KOTFE. I was hoping to wander around the planet and maybe find some gathering nodes, but no such luck without starting the KOTFE story. (Later, I ended up heading to Iokath for gathering instead.) Now, I just use the Travel to Contact method others have recommended. As CrazyScruffy said, the droids C2-N2 and 2V-R8 are nice if you want to arrive outside of the instanced area. Or else use the Alliance Specialist contacts SteveTheCynic listed to travel to them in your instanced base.
  2. Agreed. I just did the daily on my alts and saved up the free tokens for a week or two, then played the free chips on different alts every few days. Honestly, I never thought I would win the big prizes, but maybe grab enough certs for a few decos. I got lucky to win a couple pigs with completely free tokens (mostly from dailies and handful from FPs). Only in the past week, since the event is ending I started to buy some Smuggler's Chips to get the Feeling Lucky buff before spinning the rest of my free daily tokens. I ended up with a third pig a handful of mounts and enough certs for a couple of the old mounts and decos. I did run the daily a lot, but I probably only spent a few 100K on Smuggler's Chips this past week for a decent haul.
  3. As I posted earlier, I got lucky with 2 pigs from the free daily tokens alone, but now that the event is almost over I've started to buy Smuggler's chips just for the Feeling Lucky buff when spinning the rest of my free Kingpin chips. I'm still working through multiple alts with 20-30 daily chips on each. At first when I started buying chips for the buff, I felt like I was actually less lucky that my earlier buff-less spins with free chips. I was only getting certificates for a long time, then finally I got a third pig and a Vectron mount. Along the way, I collected enough certs for the Rancor and maybe a second one or some of the other mounts and decos. Since I started buying Smuggler's chips, I probably spent 50-60K on each alt for enough Feeling Lucky buffs to burn through my free daily Kingpin chips. So, I'm still only at a few 100K spent. I have a handful of alts left with chips to spend before the end of the event next week, but I can only stand at the machines for so long. I'll be glad to see the end of the event and take a break from running the daily on a bunch of alts. I probably spent more time on loading screens than running the mission.
  4. As SteveTheCynic said, you can see details of who clicked, who subscribed (and who didn't), each CC grant itemized and all the rewards you've earned listed on your "My Account" "Refer a Friend" page. Good luck! https://account.swtor.com/user/refer
  5. For some reason, Crew Skills Gathering Mission items (Grade 9-10) from Slicing are incorrectly flagged as requiring Artifact Equipment Authorization. I haven't heard of any official mention of Artifact Equipment Authorization being necessary for Crew Skills gathering missions, so I'm assuming this is a bug. Let me know if this is actually working as intended. I appreciate all the progress fixing items with incorrect Artifact Equipment Authorization requirements lately. I hope you will please add this fix to your priority list for the next round of Artifact Equipment Authorization fixes. Screenshot (Preferred account status without Artifact Equipment Authorization): https://i.imgur.com/BSxuhXl.jpg This issue was reported here more than a year ago in April 2016: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=881138 Thank you.
  6. Yes, I really like being able to get extra CXP for Planetary Missions retroactively after already completing a set of missions from a terminal. I'm sure everyone does this already, but it's nice to be able to finish all the daily heroics then wait for a Dark/Light Victory state to turn in a bunch of a Planetary Missions for the bonus. I hope they keep it working this way.
  7. I agree with the OP. I would appreciate an unlock price closer to Treek or an affordable Legacy-wide unlock. I missed out on HK-51 when he was truly unique before the companions became generic, but I still wanted to have the companion skin and voice to bring back memories of good old HK-47. I just recently did the questline for the first time and although I'm sure it would be quicker now that I know what I'm doing, I can't help debating with myself whether I want to do it again or grind heroics (for less time?) to earn him on more alts. For now, I'm just keeping him on one character, so he's unique for me for a while, while I decide whether I want to spend the credits or spend endless hours scanning all over the place again.
  8. Well, I really hope they don't do this. I'd like to give the devs the benefit of the doubt that they wouldn't actually do something as thoughtless as destroying credits with Legacy wallet server transfers. You never know though, so I guess it's good to have this discussion out there, just in case it crossed their minds. I think the simplest solution is to keep individual character credit balances, but just add a credit section to the existing Legacy item bank (like Guild banks) and make it non-transferable. When transferring a character, only their individual balance would go with them. On the new server, that character could deposit that balance into the new server Legacy bank credit pool. That way, no credits would be created or lost, only moved in the same way they are now. The only other solution if they completely do away with individual credit balances is to have a dialog box which asks how many Legacy wallet credits you want to bring with you when transferring a character, then add that amount to the balance on the new server. That seems like it would be more convoluted and open to more errors (and generate a lot more support tickets). Slightly off topic, and I know the GTN billionaires wouldn't be happy about it, but maybe it's time to consider a single shared GTN across all servers (or at least all regional servers). There will be a shock period of adjustment, but it seems like the prices and market would be healthier with more buyers and sellers and getting rid of the needless barrier of creating throwaway alts to transfer back and forth. In the end, I think it would be an improvement, unless the devs are relying on the transfer fees as a steady Cartel Coin sink.
  9. The currency cap is out of line with the current economy. Maybe it was reasonable 3 years ago, but not now. I don't know what the best solution is, but I've played other games that sell (for real money) paid permanent account wide currency cap unlocks. A current or previous subscriber can use a referral link to get a "Preferred Friends Bundle" mailed to all current and future characters which includes a few unlocks to help with those limitations: "Unlock: Crew Skill Slot" (which restores the third Crafting Skill for a previous subscriber), "Customization Control: Display Titles" and "Customization Control: Unify Colors." Make sure to use those items only after your subscription has run out. They don't work when you're currently subscribed because a subscriber already has those features unlocked. http://www.swtor.com/info/friends Of course, many of the other Preferred limitations will still remain in place, like only being able to send 3 companions to craft at once and no crafting queue.
  10. Yes, but as I said the 90 days starts from either the last time you used a link or when your last subscription time ran out, whichever is the most recent. So, if you used a link 90 days ago, then paid for a continuous 3-month subscription after that you would have to wait another 90 days after the end of the subscription before you could use a link. Using a link allows you to come back with "some" subscriber benefits for 7 days, such as having the currency cap removed so you can spend credits and (I think) allowing you to post here on the forums. Using a referral link on a previously subscribed account will NOT make you eligible for any current subscriber rewards, for example access to the latest expansions or monthly subscriber bonus content. You will NOT get any new content/expansions/level cap unless you buy a paid subscription.
  11. Thanks, Adric. Good to know the Boost refund is still possible and thanks for testing it out for me!
  12. Well, I don't think you can start or replay SoR after starting KOTFE. Have you started KOTFE yet? Or are you asking if you can start SoR at level 65? If you haven't started KOTFE, you should be able to start SoR at any level above the minimum (50-55?). On some of my alts, I was still playing through the original chapters 2 and 3 on level 70s. If you used the Boosted Character option to create a 60 or 65, then that would also lock you out of the pre-KOTFE stories (class stories, companion conversations, RotHC and SoR) even if you didn't actually start playing KOTFE/KOTET. Also, I don't think the older pre-KOTFE storylines really have a "replay" option at all. You play through it once and that's it until you roll a new alt. Of course, you can run story Flashpoints over and over again.
  13. I made a Boosted 60 before, so I know those characters start with level 500 crafting Crew Skills. I also know the skills are Synthweaving, Archaeology, Underworld Trading for Force Users and Armormech, Scavenging, Underworld Trading for non-Force/Tech Users, but I see mixed information about the 65 Boost. Some posts say they come with the same Crew Skills (and level?) as the 60 Boost, while others say the Crew Skills start at 550 for Boosted 65 characters. Anyone tried this and know for sure? I thought I might test it myself by creating a 65 to check the Crew Skills panel, but I don't know if they still refund the Boost if you delete it immediately without any activity. If a 65 Boost only starts with the same level 500 Crew Skills as the 60, I'll probably just make a 60 instead.
  14. Sorry to hear about your problems. As you found out, the old CDs aren't any use for installing the current game. You have to install from the current downloader "SWTOR_setup.exe". Find the link on your Account "Games" page. I just checked my up-to-date SWTOR Program folder and it's 37.2 GB installed (496 files, 14 folders). So, yes that may be a lot for some. If you want, I can check back later and try to post a list of all the 496 files in a current install, then you would have to go through each folder and manually delete each of the old ones, but the files may be slightly different on a different PC (so even that may not work perfectly). If you are still downloading, the folder size might shrink a bit by itself after it completely finishes downloading and installing. It's probably not what you want to hear, but If you really want to make your folder slightly smaller, it would be best to start over from scratch removing the CD installation first (uninstalling/deleting). For all that effort, you might save a small amount of space (maybe 10GB or so?), but it would also mean another BIG download. If you do decide to delete everything and restart the download from scratch and you consider yourself "tech savvy," you can read up on installing the game without the Bitraider streaming download client. Unfortunately, this method probably will NOT save you any space, but for some it makes the downloading and patching process go more smoothly. Links on installing without Bitraider: Bitraider... 15. Thanks for the recommendations. On Imp side if you have stealth, I also like: Belsavis: A Rock and a Hard Place (one click, if you skip or have already done the bonus)
  16. Yes, "unofficially" it does work if you are currently subscribed as long as you haven't used one in the past 90 days. The 90 days starts counting from the most recent date after the 7 days you last used a link or when your last subscription ran out. After using a link myself, I did get an email saying that my billing preference was changed to auto-billing/auto-renew. So, you might want to double-check and make sure your subscription is cancelled after using a referral link (unless you do want to continue subscribing with auto-renewal payments enabled).
  17. You should play it and find out. But if you really want to know...
  18. 14 character slots seems to be the correct base number of starting slots for new subscribers, according to every official link and my own recent contact with multiple official support sources. I was confused and expecting possibly more slots because other sites and past discussions have mentioned more slots, but that is no longer the case. I think that if you were a subscriber at the original launch dates of both KOTFE and KOTET, you might have gotten an extra slot along with a character boost. That only applies to past subscribers. New subcribers don't get an extra slot above 14, but I think you should still have at least one "Boosted Charater" available for creation on the Character Select screen. If you create a Boosted level 60 or 65, you will have 13 slots left for level 1 characters. Or you can ignore the Boost and just make 14 level 1 characters. My original question was about the base number of characters you start out with as a new first-time subscriber. The answer is 14. The higher numbers you list here are the maximum total number to which you are allowed to expand your character slots with purchases of additional character slots. As an example, if you are a new subscriber starting with 14 base slots, then you buy 16 additional slots, you'll have 30 Active Character slots available. When your subscription runs out and your account drops down to Preferred status, and you had all 30 slots filled, you will be asked to choose which 4 characters you want to "deactivate". So, you have to decide which 26 characters you want to keep playing. As a Preferred player, even if you buy more additional character slots above the maximum of 26, you wouldn't be able to use any of them as "Active Characters" until you subscribe again, because the Preferred cap is still 26. If you have 29 slots, you must have bought or received many extra promotional slots over the years.
  19. I could probably afford the Legacy bank on the ship, but I don't think I'd get that value out of it. And there are other things I'd rather spend the credits on. The only unlock I have is the repair/vendor droid, which is what I need most when running the story and going back to the ship after every planet. On my first playthrough KOTFE, I thought the Gravestone would become my new main ship which I could use to fly to the old planets, but I guess that didn't really happen outside of the story. I also thought maybe the old personal ship would fit in the Gravestone shuttle bay, but no such luck with that either.
  20. Yes, I've been getting a few Planetary Display decorations in the past week or two when opening a bunch of supply crates. I couldn't list them on the GTN, but I hear they are tradable. Rather that sit on trade channel, I just added all the duplicates to my decoration collection. I maxed my Alliance reps, so I'm mostly done opening them until I decide to run another character through KOTFE.
  21. I'm fairly new and haven't finished most of the older content yet, but I wanted to see the new expansions despite the mixed reviews and warnings about lost companions. So, I ran through the new storyline on a boosted character with no attachments to the past. Having seen it now, I'm still not ready to commit any of my "real" characters to KOTFE/KOTET. For now, I don't mind keeping most of my characters in the old galaxy and having post-KOTFE as an alternative future universe for my boosted character. I'd like to see more of the companions come back though, so then maybe I'd consider making the jump to the new stories with some of my old world characters, without having to worry about missing companions. I know about the terminal, but that's not really the same.
  22. I'm looking forward to new content as much as everyone else and I also spend most of my time on story and solo PVE, but it sounds like the OP might just need a break from the game. There's nothing wrong with that. If you see interesting new content released, come back and you'll probably enjoy it more after some time away than you would after waiting through months of boredom. You've seen what the devs have released and the roadmap, but your expectations may be way too high. It's great to hope the devs are aiming high, but it sounds like you're setting yourself up for disappointment.
  23. I feel like such a newb. I only get 19 mails. Other games have a "Claim" menu, so you can just pick and choose which veteran rewards to grab. Something like that might spare us some clutter in the mailbox.
  24. After 65, you will get regular (non-Locked Supply Crate) drops of basic green and blue 66 Outlander gear. Most people probably vendor them for credits, but I've been giving my alts sets of the blues until they get better stuff at 70. They work fine for PVE leveling and story. Probably not so much for PVP, but I'm not sure how the bolster works there. As Rebamcfan mentioned, you can turn in the Locked Supply Crates on Odessen after completing Chapter 9 of KOTFE (Knights of The Fallen Empire). The gear in those boxes are all orange cosmetic Legacy shells without stats, that you need to put mods in or you can use in the appearance designer. The supply crates also have companion gifts, decorations and speeders. Doctor Oggurobb: Alien Research - Inquisitor and Agent sets Sana-Rae: Ancient Artifacts - Knight and Consular sets Bey'wan Aygo: Military Equipment - Trooper and Warrior sets Hylo Visz: Smuggled Goods - Smuggler and Bounty Hunter sets I haven't tried it myself, but I've read that if you have a character boost available, you can make an instant level 65 that will have the Odessen NPCs already unlocked to turn in the Locked Supply Crates, in case you don't want to wait until you can play through the first 9 Chapters of KOTFE.
  25. Got you beat with 2 piggies for 0 credits. Technically, I made credits from the dailies.
