  1. Honestly, none. I think that it is great that SWTOR is releasing a new playable race and I hope that this is the start of many more to come however I will not be buying or making any of my characters a Cathar. The race just does not appeal to me after playing a Kerra for 9 years in Everquest 2 (Kerra are the cat race in EQ2). Now if we get some actual Star Wars "aliens" such as Ithorians, Wookies or Jawas then I will gladly pay for the new race(s) but the Cathar just do not do it for me.
  2. Hood toggle would satisfy both parties... Those that want it showing (double hood) and those that do not (hood down).
  3. Just a side note - you can not post on these forums if you are a ftp or preferred status account. Trust me I know as I called Bioware to ask about this very thing a couple of months ago when I started as ftp turned preferred. I ended up subscribing and am still a subscriber, for now. I agree to a degree that the community in this game, at least on the Ebon Hawk server, is horrible. The general chat is full of people insulting people left and right, tossing around racial and sexual slurs and overall pretty childish and immature. It makes me wonder sometimes if the majority of people playing this game are in fact kids and teenagers or just a bunch of really immature "adults". Regardless it is really sad. I've been playing MMO's since the late 1990's including The Realm by Sierra Online, Ultima Online, Shadowbane, Lineage II, Everquest, Everquest II, Vanguard, LoTRo and now SWTOR and this has to be the worst community that my wife and I have ever come across. The best by far has to be Vanguard, hands down. We've both reported many, many names and I can not even count how many people that we've reported for harassment and using certain words that should never be used on a public channel no matter how old you are and I will be quite honest... Bioware could care less. We add names to our ignore lists when we report them for names and/or behavior and not a single one has ever been changed, deleted or whatnot. Heck the naming policy states you can not have any titles in your name and I see Lordthisorthat all over the place. We report them too, nothing happens. We have talked about cancelling a few times but we are not sure what we would like to do yet. She is on a recurring subscription but I only subscribe two months at a time and the community will be one of the deciding factors when it comes time to renew again or look elsewhere to spend our time and money. That is all that I have to say today.
  4. To further add to this - In Everquest II, which I played for almost 9 years before coming here and still do on occasion, allows anyone to do a complete make-over at an in game NPC for just 1 gold piece, at any time, and this can be done over and over until you get the look that you are wanting. Hair, body, skin, eyes the entire character model can be done this way. They do charge Station Cash (SOE's version of Cartel Coins) to change gender and race/species as well as Name changes and other "major" character changes. That system has worked great for years now in EQ2 and it would be nice to see the same approach here for the customization changes that we will soon have. Just my opinion.
  5. Reading threads like this one makes us sad. We are fairly new to the game and it sounds like the game is taking a nose-dive with the new expansion and it is not even into it's second year yet. This does not give me or my friends much hope honestly. I played Everquest 2 for almost 9 years until this kind of thing started to happen over there and that is why myself and my gaming friends all came here two months ago. We are starting to have second thoughts about things the more that we see and read about.
  6. Just curious... How come the Planetary Comms are being limited to 50 max? Couldn't that be raised a little bit to maybe 100 or so? Not referring to the overflow but the general amount going forward. Thank you.
  7. I have no idea what Wildstar is but I would very much like to see player housing that is customizable brought to this game. That is the one thing that I do miss from playing Everquest II. They have a great player housing system there. One of the best that I have seen in an MMO.
  8. Honestly it is quite amusing reading the forums today and seeing how stupid some people behave.
  9. I came here from Everquest II after playing there for almost 9 years. I still play there on occaision. SOE pretty much has set the standard for games and the FTP model over the last couple of years and Everquest II allows you to do a full body remake ( face, hair, colors, size, etc ) for in game currency and they always have. It costs a little over 1 gold piece, very trivial considering the in game economy. They do charge for a race change though via the station store ( same thing as our cartel market here). I would be completely in favor of Bioware charging us for a species change, especially if they are planning on releasing more species in the future. As far as just using a "barber shop" feature to change hair style or eye color I would rather see that done with in game currency. They could add a beautician NPC to be placed around the various planets, on fleet, or even as a ship companion.
  10. Well if you don't like the penalty go play another game then like you said. Personally I will not play a game, or stick to a game, if there is no death penalty or if they remove the penalty. It feels pointless to play a game, an adventure mmo especially, where there is zero penalty for dying.
  11. I guess the devs knew what they were talking about after all huh? Quoted from today's update notes : •The first Packs of Shipment Two are now available for sale on the Cartel Market! Most items in the Regulator and Enforcer's Contraband packs are not found in the Shipment One Cartel Packs.
  12. I just got done watching the video and they did say that the new packs were coming this Tuesday.
