  1. LOL. I remember fleet datacrone "events" where pretty much the whole fleet was invited. And then people would swap characters until all of their toons had it. Fun times. 😊
  2. Just run Firefrost, Fractured, and Inferno two days ago on my Madness Sorc who I don't play that much. My boy Andronikos had tough time keeping up - wiped thrice on first boss. Switched him to Fen Zeil who did way better - didn't really expect him to. Re-examined my build after finishing all three, and realized there were several commands I forgot to use (since I forgot they even existed) which would have made the whole endeavor much easier. Switched back to my Warrior (yesterday), picked up another weekly, and did Firefrost (to finish Conquest), Landing Party, and Destroyer of Worlds (skipped the bonus boss since he isn't worth the effort) to finish another weekly. They absolutely can get frustrating at times (especially if you're repeating the same one), but I guess it all depends on which frustration you prefer - trying to find someone to do it with can be equally or more frustrating as well as longer time-wise.
  3. I'm hoping for a collection unlock sale... And a Loth Wolf pet/companion.
  4. You can also buy FP-1s and OP-1s with Conquest Comms these days, so that's another way of getting 340 piece fast (especially, purple one).
  5. Invalid argument since GS seasons came before PVP ones and target everyone equally. Just because you would do it differently doesn't make it right. Not every complaint is valid and not every opinion should be taken into account. If someone says "this chair should have 4 legs" and it already does, you can safely ignore such opinion as invalid. He can state that opinion of course, but he is not entitled to anyone agreeing with him, or taking said opinion into consideration. Not a valid analogy since GS was never PVE exclusive, and was always an avenues to promote a variety of content to the players. There are enough choices to ensure no one is forced into anything, and there is way more than enough time to complete the season, even if one chooses to do fewer objectives each week or even skip some weeks altogether. There is also an option to buy your way forward if you want the rewards but don't want to (or can't) play. And speaking of PVE exclusive events, we have one every two weeks (Gree, Rakghoul, etc.), and we have one every season (Life Day, Casino, Feast of Prosperity, and the new spring one coming up). So there are already way more PVE events compared to PVP which only has PVP seasons.
  6. Considering you can only complete 7 out of 11, your argument makes no sense. It sounds more like you just have beef with PVP.
  7. Do they execute a teammate to get 5? Seems harsh... Oh, I guess you meant both rounds combined. 😉
  8. It's a neck warmer - helpful while waiting for Snowblind to respawn, or chatting with Gree visitors on Ilum.
  9. Elitist Fantasy? 🤔 Veteran Star Fortress can be done solo by a casual player on pretty much any spec (not sure about healer) with very little to no prep. It's much faster than finding a group to do it with, and possibly one of the reasons you can't find any. Also, a group raises a possibility it will bug out on the top floor with Exarch not leaving the room and you'd have to reset and start from the beginning - never had it happen solo, but encountered it several times with a group of two. Perhaps, you may want to read some guides or watch some videos to figure out why you're struggling.
  10. Oh my, this is so funny. It's not even necessarily the gear (though gear is often a factor), but there is something about these groups that feels off right from the get go. You look around, don't recognize any names and there is this air you can almost sense through a computer screen - don't know how to explain it. And I often tell myself "It's OK, they may surprise you" and 9/10 they don't - the remaining 1/10 there is a similar group on the opposite side. Interestingly enough, I mostly encounter them when I queue earlier than normal - before 9 pm Pacific. And the later it goes into the night, the better quality groups I seem to be getting until midnight on weekdays when the queue dies down (on Fri and Sat, it can keep popping until 2 am). It's almost like kids go to sleep and the more mature players remain - there could be a different explanation of course, but that's how it feels to me.
  11. Not to me, and I'm sure I'm not alone - I loved modable legacy-bound aspects of it, and hated when it was taken away.
  12. Are you advocating for more PVP objectives on GS track? I don't see PVP players complaining about having to do PVE objectives, so they are fine with what's offered. We have PVE player (with support) complaining about the presence of PVP objectives on GS track which is unwarranted considering they have 9 others to choose from. If you only like Vanilla then, sure, stick to it. But simultaneously complaining about presence of Mint or Cherry options is selfish to say the least. And the said player decided to blame PVP when they have 9 others to choose from. I feel like we're going in circles. It's literally in the title of this thread as well as in the very first post.
  13. I agree that it sucks. I disagree there is nothing you can do about it. Plus, percentage-wise, most matches are not like that (based on my experience of PVP-ing almost every night). Yes, some matches may require you to suffer through it - sometimes, the whole night is like that. And the next day you may get 4 close matches with the team you're on winning every time, and your weekly is done in no time. So, you never know what you'll get. But if you quit after that one frustrating match, then that's the only thing you end up remembering. And it's your perception that is preventing you from going back, when the reality is you barely experienced the mode at all.
  14. True. And when you encounter them, never take it personally. I usually imagine an 8-year old yelling at their computer when I see stuff like that. Another tactic, since you mentioned "rage monsters", would be to pretend attending a zoo with said rage monster on display and you observing it. Basically, anything that would make it impossible for you to get angry back at them which keeps you in control.
  15. Disagree. In order to get better, you need stronger opponents. Even in PVE, you won't learn much from doing Heroics, but doing an Eternal Championship may provide a challenge necessary to improve your skills. You may also get prompted into trying the specs who are frequently besting you just to figure out what it is they're doing. If all you're getting are even matches, you have no reason to evolve. Many of those a beatable since by focusing on DPS they often ignore objectives - you might be surprised how often they leave nods completely unattended. There is room to develop your skills if you look for it. And when you happen to steal a victory from groups like that, it's very satisfying. Or they use that as an excuse to avoid the mode they didn't like to begin with. PVP is not for everyone, and some people don't like to admit it, and prefer placing the blame onto other factors. And yes, you have to be content with not knowing what to do at first, and some people avoid that as well, which is a personal choice - not PVPs fault. Does it mean PVP in SWTOR is perfect? Of course not. And those who choose to engage in it need to understand that and perhaps grow a bit thicker skin in order to enjoy it.
  16. You know they will learn soon enough - the hard way. When I see someone standing on a pylon, I either monitor it more closely than normal (rescued quiet a few that way), or steal it from them (if they're an enemy, and I'm stealth). Next time I see that player, they are no longer standing on a pylon (usually, one time is all it takes - rare ones take 2 or 3). It also helps to have some quick one-line responses in your back-pocket for the most common rants you may encounter since it is sometimes hard to quickly come up with them in fast-paced situations. I have quiet a few to draw upon aimed at diffusing different situations, usually with some humor in them (2-4 words max each), and they served me very well over the years - not just in PVP, but in life as well.
  17. An option to reset "the alternative access point" is WAY overdue.
  18. I don't understand either and really dislike it. I first noticed it with PVP Season's gear (don't know if that was the first, or if there were other sets before that). And it's been spreading to other areas of the game like some sort of disease: GS seasons, newer Events gear, now this Fitted gear, etc. Don't know what Broadsword is getting out of it, but it makes these sets less valuable compared to modable legacy-bound gear. And I'm all for Space-Barbie - guilty of it way more than most people I see on fleets - but not at the expense of flexibility that modable gear provides.
  19. You don't need to talk in order to learn - watch what others are doing, analyze it, and apply to yourself. Yes, it may speed up things if someone "takes a rookies under their wing", but it's not a requirement to learn. Just being in the environment forces one to adapt and evolve. If someone is reluctant to queue again just because someone said something in "not always a reasonable manner" means that they would have quit anyway, sooner rather than later. PVP is a fast-paced environment where emotions fly high - there is simply no time to craft extra polite elaborate passages. When you get feedback in there, it will be in the most direct quick-typed manner. I'm not talking about AFK-ing trolls who don't participate and just type (while being equally annoying to veterans or newbies) - I'm talking about regular PVP players who may say something in short pauses between battles. Learn to separate fair criticism from insults - use the first to learn from, and ignore the second. There is a quote by Brigham Young: "He who takes offense when offense was not intended is a fool, yet he who takes offense when offense is intended is an even greater fool for he has succumbed to the will of his adversary." If someone tries to troll you, either ignore them or troll them back, and, most of all, laugh about it - I do and it works very well.
  20. I never tried that, so please let me know how it goes - I'm curious now.
  21. Then you chose the right spec.
  22. I grew up with one, and worked closely with others. Plus, making certain things accessible is part of my job description. What you consider "the right thing" isn't necessarily the right thing for them. "Considerate well meaning" people is one of the annoyances they have to deal with on a regular basis. If you want to do the right thing for them, treat them as you would anyone else.
  23. New gear - fortunately, not retroactive.
  24. It's already obliterated by a simple math: 11 - 2 = 9. And the total needed is 7. The answer is yes they can. See the equation above. Strongly disagree. Primarily doesn't mean exclusive. GS targets all players which includes PVP-ers. People will always find reasons to complain, even when, objectively, no issues are present. This thread is a great example. There can be a hundred of flavors. But if someone only likes Vanilla, they won't take advantage of them without expanding their own horizons. They absolutely can. But they shouldn't demand that flavors other people like be removed from the menu.
