  1. It was more a comment on the condescending, self aggrandizing nature of your post than a plea for preachy financial advice. I'm fine in regards to money thanks.
  2. My word you've discovered that there is a difference between need and wants, this will change everything.
  3. What a big tough I have $72 bad-*** you are.
  4. Terrible analogy, but even if it wasn't you got the details wrong anyway. He wasn't asking for anything for free, more of a "meal deal" for legacy transfers. Getting a discount for a bulk purchase is not a crazy untested idea.
  5. The conceit and condescension in this post is really cringe-worthy. Lay off the life lessons nobody (who is sane) takes any of this seriously.
  6. Yeah great point, lets not ever discuss anything not directly related to food or shelter. Fun /s
  7. Difference is you attempted to and I didn't. Being not alone in an opinion means exactly nothing.
  8. So when are the APAC servers being turned off ? I'd like to stay on my server until the last possible minute then decide if I want to continue with the game.
  9. In reality, (swidt) you don't get to decide what is productive and what is not. Unless you work for Bioware this is all speculation that fits nicely within your own bias.
  10. Yeah like the other thread on the front page jokingly offering $300 to remove the one time password. Try harder.
  11. I didn't see you present any facts.
  12. I didn't see the OP make that assumption in fact it would be ludicrous to assume that. Easier to shoot down an argument that the OP didn't make I suppose. Good job following him all morning though, someone has to keep us safe /whiteknight. It doesn't matter if it's the most efficient method or the only method if it's real money vs playing the game it's pay to win. It doesn't matter if the gear is the very best if it's real money vs playing the game... All imo of course.
  13. Have to agree with the OP here, anything that gears your character (not just cosmetically) via real money vs playing the game = Pay to win. It makes no difference if there are other options (of course they exist or it wouldn't be a game at all). Someone can get identical gear to me without running a single FP or OP, which personally doesn't bother me but it's pay to win. Edit: It seems the definition of the phrase is causing most of the arguments. I think we can all agree that Pay = spend real money, so It's on to the win. In an MMO there is no final boss, no "congratulations you have beaten SWTOR" screen. The goal in eldergame is to increase the power of your character and to progress through eldergame content (I'm ignoring pvp here for simplicity) . In my opinion anything that, for cash, allows you to skip earning that increased power and ability to do eldergame content through FPs, OPs, Daily quests, crafting, farming, etc. etc. is P2W. I understand this is just my attempt at a definition and not all players goals are the same.
  14. I learned stuff thanks thread! (and the people in it.)
  15. Why do you care so very, very much? He said the other two are going to be cancelled soon, get it? You treat criticism of this game like it's a personal attack. If this was politics you would be a partisan hack. On topic I have unsubbed , my reasons are... The trend towards cash over content (Lack of end game was a major problem at launch and 2.0 has added next to nothing). Completely pathetic treatment of the APAC player-base. Poor performance fps wise and the fact that this MMO engine can't handle large numbers of players at once (It's pretty sad if you think about it). I was hoping post-Ilum that this was going to be fixed but it seems they are unwilling or unable to.
  16. There is no evidence that this is true, if Cartel Market purchases are up 25% this quarter do you really think that means that 25% more (proportionally) is spent on new game content? No, it means larger profits for EA. The Cartel Market is supposedly great for the "health of the game" but I see no evidence that any of this money has been spent on content nor any evidence that the current subscription numbers are less than is needed to keep the game "afloat". Infact in my opinion the success of the Cartel Market just encourages them to put everything they develop behind a pay wall, why give it away when people will pay for it. There is a huge difference between not reaching projected profits and not making enough to survive. I don't agreed that content comes much faster now since F2P On topic I would like to see, new FPs, new WZs and New Ops. I remember it being agreed that one of the main reasons SWTOR lost so many subs. was the lack of end game content but in 2.0 they rectified this buy giving us even less and half of it was rehashed.
  17. Nope, he said difficulty gives him a sense of accomplishment and SWTOR is too easy to give him that.
  18. Oh dear, thanks for the "logic" bomb. Seeing as my simple post was beyond your understanding I'll clarify. Nobody would post as many childish and repetitive statements as you unless they liked the sound of their own voice. Me reading them and commenting on them is immaterial. Nothing nullified, nobody introduced.
  19. Still posting to hear your own voice I see, why don't you truncate your next post out of existence.
  20. Great post, sounds awesome irrespective of the outcome.
  21. Dude just put him on ignore and move on, he sees this thread as his chance to get some of the attention he so desperately craves. Don't feed him.
  22. Honestly that post is mostly BS the wait times on Dab. are fine or were, so I fail to see how adding the other two underpopulated servers on top of that would make things worse. This was a way to save money, look at EA's financials this game is a massive failure revenue wise and this is an easy way to save money. The vast majority of people wanted a merge and they could have offered transfers to the RP and PVP players who would have rather played on US servers.
