This might sound like a noob question but when you really think about it, stunning the ball carrier can save a loss on your side. I am interested to know why its a bad idea or move to stun the ball carrier. I've been told off for this a few times:(
Note:
Stun/Stunned/Stunning in this post for simplicity purposes is to mean any spell by any class to stop, knock out or any other means available to stop the advancement of the ball carrier and a possible pass by the ball carrier in Huttball.
Each Scenario bellow has been some of my experiences from playing hutball and maybe you had the same or similar.
Scenario 1
The score is 1-2. Their way.
The ball carrier is making his/her way down the ramp looking like a certainty to score! They have their players there for support and back up.
Someone stuns the ball carrier. Ball carrier is paralysed long enough for reinforcements to arrive to help kill or to get into position for a push back the ball changed hands to your side or has been reset. Result : No scoring occurred.
*Was it a bad idea to stun the ball carrier in this scenario?
Scenario 2
Same as Scenario 1 but this time the ball was passed or the ball carrier was able to carry on.
so they scored 1-3 their way. Did it matter if the the ball carrier was stunned ? They scored anyway.
* If so why ?
Scenario 3
The score is 3-3. 29seconds To go
It looks as though they're going to score "stunned the ball carrier"" which gave your team that little bit extra time to get there or in range and kill him/her..Your team has the ball now and held on to it long enough to win or even score.
*Was it a bad idea in this scenario to stun the ball carrier?
If they had still managed to score and win, why would it matter?
Reminder:
Stun/Stunned/Stunning in this post for simplicity purposes is to mean any spell by any class to stop, knock out or any other means available to stop the advancement of the ball carrier and possible passes by the ball carrier in Huttball.
There are many more scenarios I can produce where "Stunning" the ball carrier would come in handy not all the time of course but on occasions I believe it can.
Sorry for the long post, I 'm interested in any intelligent helpful responses:)
