  1. Sorc, merc, sniper. it's simple. PT and jug (tank classes) have worse defenses. Maras have no self heal to speak of. Operatives are up there but require for to much not dpsing to be in the same category as above although stealth and evasion give them a special place.
  2. And enter god mode. Make sorcs immune to electro net but all other classes suffer? make sorcs better at hitting every other class? Give sorcs heavy armour? really? How about a bigger penalty or cooldown on their focus build skill? How about getting rid of enduring bastion? How about giving sins (a stealth class) back the best stealth skill? How about getting rid of the 2 healing abilities on the move utility? Bubble stun has a cooldown comparible to other aoe stuns? How about getting rid of the 25% shield on the aggro drop? How about getting rid of root on force wave like other aoe knockbacks? How about bringing force speed into line with other ranged speed buffs? How about making them charge their raid buff and choose between that and a current personal buff like all other classes? How about bringing sorcs into line with other dps classes (mercs and snipers excluded)? How about bringing sorcs into line with mando healers? When the hell are people going to realise they have it easy with a sorc and stop whining?
  3. Trust me I know what I am on about. It'll work fine. Although thinking about it try the connection first, you can test this by hard wiring into the router. You don't have to be there long but your probably running an 801g internal wireless system. Use 5g and think will change. People who use words like bottleneck tend not to know what they are on about. If you were using a high render 3d animation software you'd notice bottle necking. Not running a 2009 game. The bandwidth of pci 2 would make more of a difference in that case as well. But if your not doing disneys next animation sequence a second hand 2009 graphics card like the 560, and a much newer wireless adaptor will make the difference. If you wanted to run Batman Arkham knight or swtor on full settings you need to go to 4mb 670 (much more shaders than newer cards but a real battery drain). I know because I have done it even Nvidia say that 560 will run near full as optimised settings and full graphics with a 670.
  4. Your cpu is fine. If you can upgrade your memory to 8gb,(about £15 for ddr 3) and make sure you run no less than a GTX 560 graphics card (also 6 years old). If you have these and are still suffering then I recomend a belkin 5g usb wireless connection (£20). You don't need expensive hardware for this game but if your computer is 6 years old you need to add to it. The 2nd gen i7s still outperform all but the high end chips made today, however you will lose out with usb 2 and pci 2, no big deal really. Your computer has years left in it for very little extra money.
  5. Engineering is more noticeable as really annoying. However they do have an advantage. The slow aoe has a debuff that boosts all aoe attacks. Which class was flavour of the month and could only be hurt by aoe? Yup they rinse mercs that pop the shield.
  6. You forgot the mercs 15% and uninterruptable shield. And if you use a concentration sent it is better against mercs because you get concentrated slash. Just make sure they haven't popped the reflect shield first and use the shorter leap to charge the aoe for when they do.
  7. Losing is easier on a sorc than any other class (phase walk). Lack of dcds? on a sorc? I really suggest you play other classes and learn sorcs are still the best. I don't really have a "main" I play all classes, and they all have different functions in a warzone. Lightening sorc is a support dps role. stay alive while some classes control and others do the main dps, then apply your added dps to finish them off. If you classified each class by manoeuvrability, dps, hps, dcds you would see sorcs of all specs are still near the top. If you are talking ranked then of course they aren't the sheer power of a sniper or mara, but ranked will never be in full balance because it is small group. It is the same difference as taking an ops group in an uprising. Sorcs aren't over performing and are fine, I think that too many sorc players had it to easy for to long and now want to feel like gods again. Well having the class where it is will make you a better player. You might even learn how to phase walk if you are struggling for los.
  8. Yes but they have poor escapes and no self healing. So lightening sorc is in a good place because while they are not the best dps they have much much better tools than average. If you give them pt dps as well then we can forget balance entirely in this game. Pyros have worse dps than a lightening sorc as well. DPS Sorcs are fine but please it has got to be the time now where they nerf sorc heals.
  9. Sorcs already have it. It's called god bubble, phase walk, enduring bastion (I think is the name of the utility for a shield after god bubble). Lightening is exactly where it should be. It has average DPS and excellent dcds and self healing. If anything it needs to lose something. Roll a PT and then complain about lightening sorcs.
  10. Exactly. the 2 FotM classes Mercs and snipers have recently had there dcds buffed massively and are now the go to toons. Sorc healers have the best defences of the healers (and best HPS), yet it is concealment operstives that put out the best test dps numbers. The game is now to much about not dying and not enough about clearing out the opposition.
  11. I agree except merc healers are fine, and lightening sorcs don't really need a grand buff. They are fine a little lower down the pecking order but nothing to harsh. But yes Gunnery Mercs, engineer snipers especially, Sorc healers are ruining the game. Oh and nerf operatives.
  12. I didn't know that about the dances in front of mezzed players, that's funny. I might even dust off my old agent to do it. And welcome to the most self entitled person on the internet. A person you have never met didn't want to sit and teach you how to play a computer game? OH NO. Making a statement you admit to be true is a deep personal insult? Call the police. I'm not a member of TAS and my only association with Snave or the guild is playing aginst them since 1.x. Many times I have won the 1v1 and wz and many times I have lost. Nothing wrong with a little competition, I just wish they spent some money on they way they look. Please guys you aren't going to get action figures made have a change of outfit.
  13. Ranked matches are constantly going to acid, and the you have limited choice on the dps you take because of sorc healers. I do agree about the med shot, that is just plain ridiculous. However I would like to see them all come down to mando level. Mercs make a big difference if well played and protected, a perfect spot for a healer to be. Ops don't need much to get them there as to me the stealth out as good as the reflect shield. Sorcs however have effectively stealth in the form of phase walk, area push, god bubble, roaming mend, the best single target and aoe Hps, force speed, bubble shield, not forgetting the utility option of shield after god bubble. How many tricks do they need? Would I like to see trauma probes on a mando hit all targets in one cast? No and they aren't as strong as roaming mend. A healer should pull their weight not walk easy street.
  14. I must admit 30 minutes is the longest these have dragged out for in my experience. But 30 minutes is still to long. The most I have had on gree is 3 pylons going uncapped by either team, Alderaan 5 minutes before first turret cap and stalemate till the end, Odessen you can lose count of uncapped rounds. It is so slow with 2 good teams.
  15. Odessen has no time limit, Hypergates has no time limit, novare coast has no time limit, Alderaan has no time liimit. That leaves huttball and voidstar.
  16. 90% of pvpers do not do this and it is the single most import part of the game. Do not LOS the healer, and do not dump your self in the middle of a group of enemy and draw the healer in. Especially on gree pylons.
  17. Because no one would win. wz would continue forever as most do not have a time limit. Healers need the dps to kill the other healer. In fact truth is 2 average sorc healers a side can negate enough damage with the self healing of dps to cause a stalemate. 1 sorc healer is all that is needed if you have plenty of self healing dps, or dps with lot's of dcds that's why people complain about mercs and snipers. At least a dps has a chance of capping the guarded node or focusing 1 healer down. But 3 healers and it's just stand back and watch, the wz is going nowhere. The problem is total dps is less than equal to total potential hps in many wzs.
  18. This already happens. the point they make is that a sorc and operative are nearly invincible. Not that they hurt when they hit back. With current self healing of dps a healer will never actually kill one it will just stalemate in 1v1, but they can ignore the single dps and keep healing their entire team with no real loss of output. Manoeuvrability helps massively.
  19. Well put on the last post. But it's not that they are not killable. It's that they slow the game down so much. I always remember a quote for Tarantino about films and his favourite scenes in Pulp Fiction. He removed them from the film because it slowed the film down and wanted to get to where the action was. Swtor is becoming stodgey don't you think? A wallowing mass of slow kills and just beating things with a stick. To continue the film analogy like the apes at the start of 2001: a space odyssey. Now sorcs have set a bench marks for other classes to achieve, snipers have got there, and mercs are chasing fast. People on the forums want more defences on other classes. I know they make the skill shine a little more by having to concurrent rotations, but do we need more? With a sorc healer behind one everything you mention is void. It's the combination of excessive healing and dcds that really makes me want to quit again.

  21. 1 with mercs it's the shields and with utility the rate you can pop it not the actual heals themselves. Merc healers are about the level all healers should be. Useful, hardish to play but you have a chance if you play with no mistakes. 2 Its sorc heals and no you don't have to be very good, you just need to pick the right utilities and know what the force speed, bubble and phasewalk button do 3 ranged should beat melee at distance, for me the problem is they should crumble to pieces much faster when you get there and not still have the advantage. I don't mean not be able to kite, I mean stuns interrupts knockbacks and as I suggested before a dig utility on snipers cover should make melee beat ranged face to face. 4 jugs can still knock out the dps and skanks can be made but the new gearing doesn't make it easy. It's the whole are tanks worth it ? question. As for melee it's more about what a few ranged classes can do that make you less effective. Ranged is losing the disadvantages but not the advantages. Now they are a little more mobile, now they are more uninterruptible, now they have more self mitigation and self healing. But what have they lost to create a slight disadvantage? Or to put it another way how have things been kept balanced?

But at least he has the imagination to think that he's making a valid point not just failing to enter a discussion about a computer game. He may take it to personally and get snide about things but you sir haven't got a clue.
  23. Ok the evasion takes up the hunkerdown on hightail, but then there are also all the shields. 7 dcd's and cover is pretty good. Maybe I shouldn't have said permanent, I should have said over 70% of the time and with imperial preparation and cover. Do they really need cover at this time in the game when they have so much other stuff going on?
  24. Nice escalation of the situation. The point I am making is that snipers have lot's and lot's of dcds, the top tier. Go play a vanguard against them. Or any class with a half decent sorc healer behind one. As I have written before I love watching them squirm when a mara runs right through the Aoe. They also have huge burst. My point is the time to kill factor. To many dcds make regs and ranked a standoff. Too many times is Alderaan a fist to cap a node and fight over a stalemated mid. Too many times 4v4 is acid resolved. The number of dcds make this player v player but you are all as good as each other. No one loses the running race we all just take part. Sorry if you grew up in the snowflake generation, you might have learned the satisfaction of competition if you hadn't.
  25. I like NC. They are legit tactics. You must be on the look out at all times. No chasing the kills, but skilled teamwork. And it has always been spam capping. I also like the way Gree pylons have evolved into guarding the pylon being a priority and middle being a dash in and dash out, I just wish people wouldn't over extend and get themselves isolated or learn to run when they are losing health.
