  1. "laptops have a heat problem that'll cause them to slow down when the internal thermometor senses overheating." I've had heating problems in the past due to bad cleaning (forcing the computer to shut down), now it's absolutely fine, fans don't even speed up, temp is as low as possible. I'm not interested on spending more time trying to optimize the game please guys don't waste time to answer this thread (especially if your answer is "you can't run swtor because (reasons that could or couldnt be true)"). I'm asking moderators to close it, i won't read answers anymore.
  2. But "competitive" pvp is for me the only situation that requires perfectly smooth gameplay (terrible framerate is too much of a disadvantage) and I planned to spend most of my playtime on endgame pvp so from my perspective i can't run swtor. end of the story. glad to make those 37Go great again.
  3. Chill please. I'm smart enough to know that my knowledge is limited and I won't trust everything or do something crazy because of what i read on forums. I posted this to see if i could gather additional helpful info you don't need to start a war to decide who understands computers best. I can't run swtor and that's not a big deal, i moved on before you guys started commenting That's amazing, however that adds no info or help whatsoever so i wouldn't comment if i were you. Time to close the thread it seems
  4. So I discovered 2 unnoticed asus crapwares and i disabled compatelrunner which can totally destroy my hdd performances, i have some improvements especially when opening/closing google chrome and the only area where i experienced some lag in world of warcraft (dalaran, player hub) runs almost like the rest of the world, so i hoped to see some improvements in swtor. Slightly faster loading time and i can actually exit the game with the exit button (forced me to reboot my pc before so i had to kill the process without exiting properly). But warzones still have extremely poor fps with a lot of stuttering. No complete freezes as long as i dont have hdd issues, still terrible. Temp is low, ram used is stable, Cpu usage on task manager is always very low, it feels wrong but the game runs like ****. (My connection is hardwired and i have no latency, every client/server interaction feels perfectly fine in every online game that I'm playing). I won't replace every piece of my labtop for small improvements that would only impact swtor (all other games that i play work fine and i dont care about fancy graphics and very demanding games), even if it's not that expensive it's not worth the effort and the risk of breaking stuff (i'm not an expert). I will most likely acquire a completely new computer in the future but not immediately. It's so ridiculous when you compare swtor and wow battlegrounds with low settings : in wow you have a lot more players, better looking textures and animations, and the game just runs super smoothly like a beast.
  5. I spent some time cleaning everything that wasn't in system32. I could diasable the anti virus (windows defender) but i'm pretty sure windows will run crap to remind me that i need it and it will be the same. I forgot to say that i have a mechanical 5400rpm drive and i found i had 100% disk usage way too often resulting in very frequent freezes obviously lowering the fps (which are steady when it doesn't happen) and making the game not playable. Yes it really seems my machine is capable of running the game very smoothly but I'm afraid there are some unfixable issues.
  6. Well i already uninstalled the game without noticing that people replied. Obviously there is nothing to do. I'm playing world of warcraft now and it works great.
