  1. Yes I actually am disappointed with this change. I enjoyed managing them, now I think I did things differently than others. I just found the ones that worked best with my game style and stuck with them, so I usually only have 1 or 2 of them geared at any time. Which isn't that hard to keep up with. I guess this change is needed for all the other things they are doing, I'm sure level sync is a huge reason for this. People will also not have to continually try to figure out what is the best way to gear the comps. But I will still miss doing all the work. Hopefully their stats will be pretty much on par with how it is currently and the Devs don't mess things up.
  2. After Nexon messed with Vinictus' launcher (which I wont use) any mention of work on a launcher brings terrors.
  3. 1. Did you not hear that the leveling system will be almost like a permanent 12x? The only thing you need to do for leveling is class and planet stories, all other things are irrelevant in that sense. 2.Who wanted to go back and redo stuff for any other reason than achievements? 3.Very few people ever wanted to do HEROICs when they were leveling through a planet the first time. How does this make them anymore interesting now? 4.This could be a good and bad thing but it can stay as a Pro. 5. From my experience this will kill what's left of the PVP servers. Because there are really very few true PVPers, many people are wannabes that are in it only for the ganking. 6. I don't RP so I can only go by what some RPers have said this past day and very few seem to think its a Pro. 7. Cant say yes or no to this. The conditions Eric was playing under could be quite different form live, being that that was the internal server for the devs.
  4. Which would be a main reason they waited until now to tell us. Now it was possible for DCUO to take out a similar change with their GU47 in less time after the community vehemently objected to it. But sadly from the looks of it SWTOR's is far more complicated, meaning the chances of a change are 0.
  5. No it wont be the death of SWTOR, as usual that is an extreme assessment of things. It will however be harmful to the game. For myself it will take away a great deal of my freedom of play. I am primarily a soloist so any scaling that makes grouping more of required is a detriment to me. This will give me less incentive to go to lower planets as well as finish achievements.
  6. So basically they did a bait and switch here. Saying all you soloists and story lovers we finally are giving you what you want. Here's this cool expansion with many chapters filled with story content and lots of solo stuff, we know you will love it. Oh and yeah we are changing the entire game by level syncing everything so you can never solo anything outside of stories ever again, have a nice day. I have never understood the whole idea of level sync (thankfully I haven't played any games with it yet). With it why do we even have levels? What is the purpose of progressing, if everything will always be leveled with you? It is like taking a martial artist who has studied & practiced for 30-40 years, has all the belts, honors, skills that anyone can have yet is still equal with the kid that just started today. I would like to add my recent experience trying to complete the Citizens of Makeb achievement. I was down to the last ones, they required HEROIC 4s, took me over a week to get help and even then I got 1 level 60 to help me. Now how much fun will that be after this system goes into place (yes I know that achievement will be gone but this goes to all things)? People have been asking forever to change those HEROICs that require a full group (Section X for one) because it is near impossible to get people to help as is. So they go and make it harder, does that make any sense?
  7. The kneeling is at the end of Chapter 1, the becoming an Outlander (when we get unfrozen from carbinite) is Chapter 3, so there is an entire Chapter between. Best guess whatever we do there will be an escape and a fight then a recapture which gets us frozen. Sigh that's what I get for reading only the title. You will never join the Eternal Empire, it is not a faction you can join. I am not sure why people keep thinking it is a playable faction after all this time. Sure the kneeling could be confusing but they have said many times that EE is not a playable faction.
  8. 1. For people in your situation macros are a perfectly fine and needed thing but sadly for the majority of players it gives them an unfair advantage over others, in many cases they are even viewed as cheats. 2. There is a magnify option on the map, there is a box in the lower left corner you click to turn it on. It gives you a magnifying glass to move around the map. 3. This is a licensed game and with that comes a great deal of restrictions and controls that mods do not fit in with. Lucas/Disney has a final approval of all things that go into the game, they want to make sure things stay within the standards of the Star Wars Universe. Whether SWTOR is canon or not it still has the Star Wars name attached to it and must conform to the ideals of the properties owners. You will find this to be similar in other licensed games such as DCUO. 4. Hmm. They designed full worlds and that means there will be areas that have mobs in your path, it gives more atmosphere and reality to things. It can be annoying and the mount thing really ticks me off but you are invading the mob's territory so you should expect to have to fight your way through. Don't listen to others about what content to do or not to do. Do what makes your game play fun to you.
  9. The one main thing people seem to always forget is that the Force works best against the week, week of mind and spirit. The non force user classes have proven they are neither week of mind or spirit. As described the force is in all things, living and not. There would be a baseline amount of force in all things but each living and non living thing will have it's own individual amount. This can manifest in many ways, one being a resistance to force users. Jace Malcom is a great example of this, look at what he was able to do in the Hope trailer. He took on Malgus head on twice, he resisted a full lightning attack (for a time) then late tricked Malgus into a close up fight to set off a grenade that they both survived the blast of (scared). There is also the thing that both Jedi and Sith tend believe themselves as superior which makes them predictable and vulnerable to the actions of some non force users.
  10. All that changed for me was loading is faster and NPCs look and move like crap now, yay.
  11. Not so much any more. They have a male character now (sort of). As to the Op all I got out of that is he is saying "I hate all things that are Star Wars about this Star Wars game".
  12. Yeah, your Op was more of a rambling thought you had instead of coherent sentences. Maybe people who have played WOW would be able to have a clue as to what you were talking about but not everyone has played that game. So everybody else will just be confused.
  13. There can be many factors involved in this, timing, need, understanding and the chat. Timing- people can be in the middle of something they just cant or don't want to get out of. Need- self explanatory Understanding- people just don't know the details or what is being offered. Take Makeb, I have seen some people offer to get people to the Endurance datacron but I am confused as to how they are doing it with the way they are wording it. It sounds like the thing the bots use to get around for their farming which makes me a bit uneasy about. Chat- people don't always have the general chat window on, so they can miss the offer. There is also another factor, accomplishment/challenge. People take pride in getting all they can on their own and only getting help when it is completely required (Balmorra/Taris, Fleet, etc.). Oh yeah and then there are those who just aren't getting them.
  14. Seriously, people will make up anything to complain about. No it is not false anything. On another note. People do realize that all the trenchcoats and wide brim (space cowboy) hats were all based off of Nico's style, right? So what did you really expect them to do make, something that had no connections to any of it which would include Nico himself? Now I will say that if they could have made the coat exactly like the Blur version I would have been ecstatic but I am cool with what we are getting.
  15. That is the key thing there, "realistically". From everything I have read it seems they had a great deal of high ideals and goals for the game that did go outside of the realm of realistic. I do believe they planned on continuing the stories but found the pace and upkeep of an MMO makes that quite difficult to make that much content. The fact that reality gave them a huge slap in the face after the game launched made things far worst.
  16. In July a blog called Vacation slightly stepped on this, its a cool read you should check it out. He still looks young, we don't know why but he outwardly does not look like he has aged at all. One can guess that part of the spoilers Eric wants to avoid could include the story explanation of his apparent lack of aging.
  17. This dumb statement keeps getting thrown around. Not being canon does not mean they can do anything and everything. They still need to keep within the SW lines, otherwise it would no longer be a SW based game. Do they get to create and explore new things? Yes but still they need to keep within the lines. To the Op none of it, it doesn't belong in this time period. Oh and definitely no traditional Jedi robes, I don't care if KOTOR did they shouldn't have, this is a different time Jedi wore different things. The Jedi can be stale but not that stale to wear the same style for thousands of years.
  18. This is so simple to answer, because it still is an MMORPG. None of those five words define these types of games as group only play. They are simply online games that people are able to interact with one another in social and gaming ways. A free form thing allowing players to enjoy a wide range of social and gaming possibilities, within the parameters of a game.
  19. There is the Developer Tracker section and you will find various threads in General Discussion, where all game talk is.
  20. I am not sure why this would have ever been a thought to you. There is just nothing I can think of written about KotFE that would lead anyone to think the pre-60 would be eliminated.
  21. I have to highly disagree with your assessment of the Defender and your perception of the Jedi. The Defender is a high quality space craft that fits the full needs of it's Jedi owners. It's design falls in line with an earlier version of the style of Jedi ships established in Phantom. The Jedi are a humble and practical order similar to monks, fancy, flashy things are of no interest to them.
  22. I do have to say I am quite disappointed with it. There is so much they could have done with it, make it stand out for how important it is to the game's history. Yet they just made it a slightly different looking trooper armor set that resembles the Havoc armor. Oh and then there's trying to color it, oh that's bad. As for the Havoc symbol not being on it, that makes sense, it is a Cartel Market item after all, open to everyone to own. Only troopers can be apart of Havoc squad, so any other class and faction shouldn't be wearing armor with the symbol on it.
  23. I am only subbed at the moment for the KotFE goodies, once that's all over its back to Prefered.
