  1. And that issue is resolved when you get them all. It's a novelty, in fact I can't even remember the last time I actually used a heroic moment. Last toon I leveled never had to use it (and yes it was actually recent; summertimish) . Seriously, I almost want to go log in just to intentionally make myself use it now. Don't get me wrong I see what you're getting at, but to me it's a non-issue.
  2. +10 for using the word diffuse correctly. I pre-ordered, haven't used the bonus and am certainly not going to get upset about it being in the game. If it has the effect of getting people back and playing the game again, I'm for it. Even though I don't particularly want or need it. There's nothing to complain about tbh. In fact, the only downside I can see is that people could potentially get to max level without ever having used their character in a group dynamic. But that situation is easily overcome if in guild or with the right people in a pug. I have seen some totally clueless tanks/healers/derps in tacs recently, can't say whether they are a by-product of 12x exp though. /shrug
  3. Actually, iirc you can never summon a comp while in an operations group instance.
  4. Then pat yourself on the back moar. I think you're both wrong. Hugs and kisses, Me.
  5. Mischaracterization on all points. Define "serious" raider. Speak for yourself. To the OP: I did the datacron master thing in the span of a few days, across characters on my legacy. I did so for no good reason. The stat bonuses are trivial and the puzzles were kind of fun. I enjoyed doing it for no good reason. Mostly out of curiosity and because I'm playing a video game.
  6. I hope that my dreams of a rifle that fires lightsabers are finally realized. Next step, a rifle that fires marauders dual wielding double-bladed lightsabers. Make it so, Bioware.
  7. I am very pleased about this info if it is true. I hope the species expansion will continue after this addition as well.
  8. Ditto on the ignore thing and I agree with your post whole-heartedly. I didn't get the MMO bug until I was in my early 20s so I'm a vanilla eq guy ('99). The player attitude then was entirely different than the current crop of gamers. Not that there weren't trolls and dirtbags, but they were outed so quickly that their continued presence was unheard of. I greet every group member with a smile. I don't start spamming "spaaaaaaaaaaaacebaaaaaar" after 3 seconds of the conversation pane not moving (I myself do space through things I've seen by default but enjoy when someone hasn't so I can watch and take part in the dialogue). I detest backbiting in PVP and PVE instances, esp. the types that start in on general after a pvp loss, so much so that I removed the channel across all my characters. When people royally screw something up, I don't start berating them in group chat, I will /tell them advice in (I hope it comes across) a non-threatening manner. If people don't know fights, I explain them. Not only does it improve morale in group, but in the game as a whole because they can now do it for someone else "not in the know." When we start to accept crappiness as commonplace, it becomes a normalized way of interacting. That is why I think so many people don't have a problem with a lot of the prevalent social downsides to internet gaming and communicating on the internet. Conversely, there are some GREAT people in game and on the forums of all ages so I don't think we can call it a complete null set. There are some people on these forums that I would (without ever having met face to face) absolutely love to shoot the breeze with IRL, and share a beer or cookout or what not. So the spirit of community is by no means dead (in my mind anyway), but it's not quite the same on the whole as I remember "back in the day" in-game.
  9. Heeeeeeeeeeey... nobody's perfect. Am I right? How about that sarlaac thing? huh? 1k years of survivable digestion by a vajayjay dentata with tentacles.... that's the kinda thing that dreams are made of. Bad dreams. Very very bad dreams. Then you got frog eating giant worm mobsters with dancing stripper chicks on a leash, what's not to like? Know what I'm sayin'? Do ya? I'm gonna forcibly remove myself from this keyboard now. Best for all involved. Goodnight!
  10. Puh-lease... he'd still have a wallet that said " " on it.
  11. It happened prior to the forum wipe so the original post is goner-fied. That being said, long live battlebug!
  12. It was a metaphor for crawling back in the womb?! Zing!
  13. Panda is the name of the droid that died right after the birth of the twins, while technically never having been alive... it's still noteworthy.
  14. Weird, prior to launch there was this great video of Commando with ac/dc in the background that now seems to be blocked by normal youtube. But just for giggles, I'll link it from a different source of what I thought when they announced the commando class specs and how fast I would be making a gunnery commando. As it turns out, I made a gunnery commando but I only stayed with my assault specialist.... anyhow this is what I envisioned the class to be. Commando - Big Gun Got a vanny too of course, he's a bit dusty atm.
  15. Why do commandos have an ability called stockstrike "Strikes the target with the butt of the rifle, dealing 2247 - 2463 kinetic damage" that actually uses the barrel of an assault cannon? Class symmetry and balancing were bigger in the devs minds than cosmetics. i.e. Even if doesn't make sense, it kinda makes sense. From a certain point of view...
  16. I think they just added a boost tbh. A few weeks ago my non-human "main" had 897 presence, now it's 957. And of course I don't wear presence gear and all comps have been maxed out with aff. for quite some time. Human 55 is 923, gonna chalk it up to me doing more +pres datacrons.
  17. I enjoyed the mini-bio I could write for my toons in eq1. No idea what the challenges of implementation would be for this game but... I would like to see implementation of other things first tbh. Like off-rails space pve, a new species, etc. basically things that (hopefully) only extend current programming rather than reinvent it.
  18. When I did the datacron master achievement, I split up which toons went after the datacrons based on indiviidual stats. It's not like I have to get all the datacrons for every character, +willpower or +aim simply don't make sense on a sniper. The fleet one is kinda a pita but it should be, it's got the biggest reward for getting it. Anyways, gonna have to fall into the "no" category on this question. I don't think a change is warranted.
  19. I'm intentionally holding off purchase until the last minute because I don't want the exp boost. Then again, I already liked the leveling experience in the game and think it's easy compared to other games. Glad you're enjoying the game though.
  20. I thought he used 2 sabers in that fight scene, then I found this footage of it. Been a long time since I played that game through, but he is definitely using 2 sabers.
  21. I've played a lot of tanks. So... yes, every foppish half proper or corny male healer in the game. At least I picked from a list of comps you get stuck with and not one you intentionally have to get (Treek). Even still I'll take Treek's gibberish over Cedrax any day of the week and twice on Sunday.
  22. All of my characters have been dedicated to their skill tree/AC since creation. Removal of hybrids doesn't affect me in the slightest. Sorry for your loss.
  23. Rise! Rise from the dead! Inquiring minds want to know! The answer is that they are cutting the skill trees down, a veritable skill deforestation is in progress with in game skill climate change "Soon" to follow.
