Hm, I got Torchy on my smuggler - approximately three month ago.

That's not normal. I play with everything maxed (only shadow map resolution down to 1024) and everything runs fine (planets with a lot of vegetation impact FPS noticeably - only 50-60 FPS instead of 100 FPS). I5-4570 @3.30 GHZ, 16GB RAM, GTX960, WIn 10 64bit.

(slight hyperbole and generalization incoming) Actually, "hardcore gamers" are the worst customers a MMORPG can have. Disproportionately high use of resources and constant complaints. Trying to abuse the system whenever possible. Compare that to the "casuals", who play maybe 5 hours a week. The players with a little army of alts to explore the stories in different manners. The players that can barely keep up even with slow content releases. If I were a developer and had limited resources, I would cater more to the "casuals". I wouldn't totally ignore / abandon the "hardcores", but would definitively take their complaints with not only a grain, but a ton of salt. But it's all speculation, because none of us actually knows the exact composition of the playerbase. And there are a lot of other playstyles in between the extremes. I'm just tired of "hardcore gamers" proclaiming that they are the be all and end all of MMORPGs.

Sad thing is, Rey was the only character I found remotely interesting.

Well, my smuggler sure as hell doesn't want to lead an army or sitting on a throne. He tries his best to somehow get through this war and then hopes to reestablish some of his old network. Pre-KOTFE, taking control of more and more gangs and aquiring a not so shabby fleet was fun - but he would prefer to stay in the shadows and not being "the last, best hope for victory". It's simply not good for business .

I couldn't find a ranking for 2015 that included FF or SWTOR, but (at least according to Superdata) in February 2016 SWTOR was in the Top 5, while FF was not.

Bitraider is not a torrent system. It accesses Biowares CDN, which is hosted / provided by Akamai. You get the game files from several servers around the world, but you don't distribute them. There is absolutly no reason why Bitraider should upload huge data files. Was that application actually called "bitraider.exe"?

Ah, yes. Not a bad introduction to economics on a very basic level. Problem is, there is not a single market in the world, that actually works that way. That model is based on several assumptions (see: perfect market / pefect competition) that are simply unrealistic. And it doesn't account for important factors like speculation or "brand value".

Yuun definitively gets promoted to LT in the Trooper story - it's just not reflected in the companion list. Edit: All squad members get a promotion after the gauntlet mission.

Heh, different people, different tastes. For me, levelling is the most fun part in MMORPGS. I simply don't care for the usual endgame stuff (Raids, PVP, Reputation grinds).
