  1. I think if you group with a group of 4 or more you should face a similar group of 4 or more. Pre-made should face pre-made, not a group of random players with no VOIP or any kind of coordination. Everyone wants balance in the game, except when it comes to facerolling PUGs.
  2. Thank goodness for players like Icykill. Thank you for providing all of this info to the community. I consider myself a smart person, a career in corporate America and I don't have the time, patience or ability to decipher this stuff. So thank you. I'm a PVP player exclusively. I have leveled 4 chars over the years (Merc, Sorc, Operative and Sniper) and I have leveled everyone of them to the level cap solely thru PVP. I love it. I thought it was odd that I was keeping my mods up to date and my Expertise level dropped from 2018, to 1936. I couldn't figure out why either. I'm leveling a Sniper right now, he is level 55. I'm using Adaptive armor and every few levels I just switch out the mods. But I noticed once I went from the 10-40 bracket, and into the 41-64, my Expertise changed? I'm going to sit at home tonight with a bottle of wine and watch the videos on Bolster. Thank you, and thank you to people like you that help me enjoy these games a little more.
  3. I agree, PVP should get more attention. People get bored with PVE quicker. Look at a game like Call of Duty, the single-player portion is minuscule, people play the PVP aspect for years. I can't stand PVE, I get bored so quickly with scripted AI enemies. Every PVP match is different, human opponents are much more unpredictable and rewarding to defeat.
  4. Don't feel bad, I created my account here in 2008, I've only PVP'd since the game launched, and I don't understand it.
  5. Forgive my naivety, but I only PVP, I haven't touched PVE in a while. What are they doing? Forcing people to PVP? And I'm reading that reluctant PVE'rs are coming in and just sitting? Oh, that's great EA, lol. I'm running around trying to win and half my team doesn't want to be there? FFS.
  6. YES!!!! Me too! I was rubber-banding, and spiking like crazy last night in the Warzones on The Harbinger. But my ISP is dogfarts to begin with, but I never experienced anything like that before. I was getting 30 second long lag spikes where everything froze, then caught up. I even had chat lag, I would type a message and it was severely delayed. I had to log, I couldn't play. Was it just me/my ISP?
  7. I don't consider range a problem in that we can LOS someone, or roll to safety. Or we can outright DPS them if we get the jump. Its those damn melee tanks and melee DPS that stick on me. My PVP main for a longtime was a Concealment Operative, I used to eat Snipers all the time ;-). Now the tables are turned, and I'm not enjoying it so much, lol.
  8. Good stuff. Thank you very much. I love to debate this stuff - do I go more defensive, or look to control more, or increase damage output? One could argue by going more defensive you in turn do more damage due to increased up-time?
  9. My biggest problem right now is getting melee off of me. Anything that can slow them, or put distance between us is welcomed imho.
  10. So, you're saying this for WZ PVP? Thank you for the input.
  11. That was an extreme example trying to make a point. I'm not saying Elder Scrolls Oline is a better game, but there is something to be said for simplicity. http://static.gamespot.com/uploads/original/416/4161502/2501955-eso+2014-04-08+21-48-28-74.jpg
  12. I agree, 2 bars isn't unmanageable. I use 3, the third one is on the right side of my screen positioned vertically. But I'm getting to a point where I could realistically use 4 action bars, and I refuse to, I should be able to play the game without it. Other games can do it. There are a lot of redundant abilities in the game; Evasion and Shield Probe could be one ability, it wouldn't break the game. On the Operative they removed Acid Blade, which I hated at the time, and made it a passive. Laze Target could be a passive for the first Snipe fired from Cover, etc., see where I'm going? Sniper rifle abilities: Rifle Shot Snipe Overload Shot Suppressive Fire Takedown Leg Shot Shatter Shot Ambush Series of Shots Penetrating Blast Yes, some are situational, and they don't all have to be used, but still, it seems to be a bit much. They could easily cut a few abilities and make one ability more interesting.
  13. As they add levels (50, 55, 60, 65) they add more and more abilities. Right now do you really feel like you need 3 action bars, let alone 2? Its becoming very WoW-like, do you want this? http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh138/Jaysinv1/WoWScrnShot_112609_212920.jpg
  14. Hello all, can you please take a look at what I am using for PVP and critique, basically I'm going with: Skillful: Ballistic Dampers Snap Shot Pulse Screen Masterful: Stroke of Genius Reestablish Range Heroic: Series of Snares Over-prepared http://dulfy.net/2014/10/13/swtor-disciplines-calculator-swtor_miner/?link=dGEAAABBAQEAGAECCAwOERgA What is everyone else using for Warzones?
  15. I'm all for having a lot of different abilities and options when I game in an MMO. But I think its starting to get out of hand. A lot of older MMOs went back and purged, or combined similar abilities, to reduce action bar clutter. I think the development team needs to take a look at doing the same with SWTOR. Look at a game like Wildstar, ESO or GW2, they have maybe 8 -/+ abilities on the action bar, but I don't feel hindered or lacking in any way when I play them. And without a way to macro several abilities to one button, it becomes even more cluttered. To pop my defensive's in PVP I literally have to press 5 keys? I'll use the Sniper as an example - Defensive abilities: 1. Entrench 2. Ballistic Shield 3. Shield Probe 4. Evasion 5. PVP Heal Stim TLDR - I shouldn't need 3 full action bars to PVP/PVE in SWTOR. Just a thought.
  16. I think there have been changes to the calculator since that was posted? But, swtor.com should still host it.
  17. But yeah, I know that this a story-driven PVE MMO game. I just find enemy scripted AI, extremely boring and predictable. I've leveled all of my characters via PVP. I miss out on a lot, but I love the PVP in this game.
  18. Maybe provide a reward option with the PVP weekly, make it a consumable. Make it like 5 Darkside points. Something, anything!
  19. I level strictly via PVP, which I love. I hardly ever PVE. But this creates problems for me because I'm not able to equip a lot of the Relics due to Dark/Light side requirements. I wish there was a way, even if its incrementally small, to increase either via WZs.
  20. With each new change to talents/disciplines its not possible to locate a current calculator online. I really think swtor.com should hosting one?
  21. Per the subject, looking for an offline version of the most current Discipline Calculator. And wondering why the swtor.com site doesn't host one?
  22. In the WZ; Voidstar - when you extend one of the bridges, I believe it is the right one, it is invisible for me.
  23. I've also had my weapon disappear on my Sniper in a Warzone when a teammate Operative used the ability "Infiltrate", I went stealth, but when I came out of stealth my weapon was missing for the rest of the WZ.
