  1. With the way Bolster works now-a-days having Expertise on your gear puts you at the Expertise of that piece, where-as a piece without any expertise will get bolstered up to max (this starts to change when you surpass the level of PvP gear, so 69+ (and 66 in the 30-54 bracket, this comes from experience) to balance PvE-endgame gear to not surpass the current PvP-gear. Each new PvP-piece contains about ~150 expertise but it depends on the piece, so count your losses. I don't have a helpful link to back up what I say because people simply open their stat panel. Equiped a piece with expertise, unequiped it, then equiped a piece without expertise and saw the difference. Obviously this only goes for Warzones and outside Warzones the gear with the bettter stats will evidently be better. Your war hero gear will have it's expertise removed, so definitly keep those. Rakata level (Makeb Vendor mods) should be more or less equal to Battlemaster and lower or possibly even better. But ye, you want prove, enter a warzone and watch your stats while you swap gear, simple. Hope it's not too much of a hassle to get gear decent enough to comfortably get from 51 to 55. Enjoy the game! /Gloomy
  2. I did the same with my Synthweaver and Kira. On top of that I used to have a shadow that looked exactly like Vette and after I decided to play on a different server I gave the look to my Juggernaut (Lekku's + double bladed lightsaber ) http://img132.imageshack.us/img132/5976/471f.png I somehow love having tanks in slave girl outfit, or maybe I'm a pervert. Still looking for a similar looking Single and Double Bladed Lightsaber. http://img18.imageshack.us/img18/715/zj5k.png Managed to scrape together some gear from collections, they're usually stuck to my Gunslinger and Guardians Gree gear due to Legacy, no point in gearing mirror classes twice. Conclusion: The game is a lot better at making pretty characters than I am. Wanted to reply to your thread but didn't, it seems. Those GIFs are amazing and you rock for offering to make them for fellow gamers!
  3. Make sure you finish your classquest before going to Makeb to avoid spoilers. (If that's something you care about, even if not now your quests might still give you experience, after likely not.) If you have a reasonable amount of planetary commendations visit the Makeb vendor at fleet for some nice purple (rakata level) mods to get you from 50-55. Level 50 Hardmode Flashpoints give nice purple gear aswell, on top of more stories! Worth doing them all atleast once, as a healer your queue should be alright. Don't be afraid to pug, aslong as you're patient, polite and it's a bonus if you read up on tactics, most pug groups will be a pleasant experience. I pug a lot and I personally quite like the people I meet, ofcourse every once in a while you come around ninja's and grievers, but it's not half-bad if you simply want to see the story once. Flashpoints are straight forward enough if you're the type that sees what's going on and adjust accordingly. If you're not into any of that, neither are you into PvP I recommend doing Makeb and then maybe all dailies once but after that solo-content is more or less over and another character might be the way to go. Best of luck! /Gloomy
  4. I fear that's impossible. On the forums you're only able to pick from pre-made avatars, quite a lot of options though.
  5. Like said above, buy stuff in the Cartel Market and then sell it for cash. I would love the option the other way around since I'm greedy in real life and do love things like collections and especially make-overs, but I can see that could give issues. And for everything except collections/make-overs that's already a possibility by buying of the GTN.
  6. My only problem with arena's being in the warzone queue is that I often end up in a spec I'd absolutely detest playing in arena's (Saboteur/Engineering or a Sage/Sorcerer in general for example) but like playing in warzones. If there was a 'pick spec' option in the beginning sure, I'd be happy but that likely causes more issues than fun. Over-all arena's are extremely quick (generally) and they rarely pop, almost not at all if I team up with a friend. So ye, whatever, I just do them and hope for a Novara Coast next. In any PvP-content in any game I always have my favourite and less favourite maps.
  7. Barrels affect it, but it's only equal if it's the same kind of weapon (say blaster vs blaster) but different weapons have a different min and max damage. I'm too lazy to printscreen but simply walk over to the supply section and compare for example single bladed and double bladed lightsaber or rifle and assault cannon if you're curious. Or if you trust askmrrobot: http://swtor.askmrrobot.com/gear?n=campaign# Asaault Cannons (campaign level) have 400.0 - 742.0 Energy Damage where-as Rifles have 381.0-571.0 Energy Damage I personally dislike the look of Assault Cannons aswell, however I'd really stick with it. In PvE there're quite some oppertunities to push out some damage and in some fights you even need to to beat tight enrage-timers. Basicly whenever you're not healing you want to be DPS'ing. In PvP aswell, helping your team get that 1 kill can reduce damage taken more than you can heal. The so-called 'stealth' it gives you is mitigated by the green beam, cell and supercharged cell stacks anyway if being a Commando alone isn't enough reason to target you.
  8. Every class in SWTOR is easy enough to comfortably finish your classquest with. So I'd highly recommend prioritizing the kind of class you want over how new-player-friendly they are. Maurauder isn't the easiest class to learn and definitly not the easiest to master, how-ever you don't need to be amazing to get through story content (and thus building up experience to become brilliant.) On top of that you get a healer companion really early on (~level 20) which is a slow but very safe option for any class. I think there're people more fit to provide good links, how-ever (and I know this is more or less blashphomy) Noxxic.com is a relatively decent site to pick up the robes of a class, for end-game it won't be any good though. Besides that class forums often offer a lot of help. Word your question and loads of helpful people will answer. The basics: Your weapons are 2 lightsabers (1 comes in a bag when you chose your advanced class, check your inventory.) Your armour is medium, wear adeptive or medium, never light. Your main-stat is Strenght, meaning you do not want any gear that does not have strenght on it. Your role (in any skilltree) is DPS, meaning you should avoid stats like: Absorb/Defence/Shield. Companions have their own main-stat, remember to update their gear, your first 2 companions wear medium armour and have the main-stat Cunning. Yes, all skilltrees are awesome and viable, respec (for subs it's free) is available at skill mentor on the fleet, combat section.
  9. There is no cap and it's very difficult to give an exact amount. The list: Solo Dailies (Belsavis, Ilum, Black Hole, (Section X?)) reward 1 per quest and 3 per heroic Weekly (Section X/Black Hole provides 10-15 each. Level 50 Hard Mode Flashpoints drop 2 per boss and 10 once a day for the quest Galactic Conflicts (non-HM drops 1 per boss I think.) Level 50 Operations drop 3 per boss and 20 for the Weekly quest bound to them. EC gives 40 if I recall correctly. Weekly Priority targets gives 12, but a lot of work considering the reward (imo.) On top of that Dread Guard (different colour) and Black Hole gear have similar if not the same skins, which drop in level 50 HM Flashpoints and Operations.
  10. Since 4 months we got: CZ-198 and Oricon, new daily area's. CZ-198 connects it's story through flashpoints (Czerka XX flashpoints.) Oricon is an introduction (through story-line) to the new operations: Dread Fortress and Dread Palace, found on Oricon. Arena's got introduced in PvP (not really any story here except we're Hutt entertainment by killing eachother.) Two new Operations finishing the Dread Master story. I'm likely missing bits and pieces. ^^" Welcome back and enjoy the game!
  11. I still haven't touched Sentinel or Maurauder, but yes, those were my exact worries coming from Tanking and Healing in PvP. On the other hand, luckily there will be a few smart Maurauders that will use the time to get out of a harmful situation (*cough* Force Camouflage) or when they know it will really be worth it. Will have to wait and see how it plays out. Rest of the changes look rather solid, curious to see how it plays out! (Note to self: level those classes already.) Tiny bit off topic: Is this all or will more be released? Sorry if I'm way out of line asking that.
  12. Dear community, I was wondering if you need to do the quest-line on Oricon on every toon to be able to enter the new operations or whether it's enough to get the quicktravel point. I don't want to run my way there to then end up not being able to enter. I know the speeder requires the questline, but there's a quicktravel point aswell. I have a lot of toons and anything daily-like I think once, twice or three times is enough. Let alone doing it about 16 times just to join my friends once in a while in some Operations. Thank you in advance!
  13. Unless pieces have a setbonus (upon which you pick the piece that has the setbonus that fits your abilities best) you can mix-match to get desired stats. As a Deception Assassin you want full offensive stats, meaning you completely ignore any piece with: Absorb, Defence and Shield Rating. As Deception I highly recommend getting a nice chunk of Accuracy Rating asap (~110% on Force Accuracy is recommended) and as much Power as your options allow you. Once you have your Accuracy up you can fill the rest with Surge. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=427933 This threat is made by our (former) Class Representative. He knows what he's doing and has useful information if you feel you need more. Goodluck and have fun!
  14. Sshhhh don't tell him to calm down, this is quality! Downtimes are always inconvenient for someone (especially Europeans I suppose) but they simply try to improve your gaming experience. Besides it's usually announced, plant to clean the house, do some shopping, call a friend/your mother!
  15. Or you could add this line to your vocabulary: "Could I please need for my companion?" 1 out of 5 team might have someone telling you to just greed on it, upon which you have a chance the person recieving it trading it to you anyway. Same if you want something for an alt. (In before 'bound' remember Legacy Gear.) Also no need to take the timer of Greed. Quite often I run into those 'too polite' people who don't need when it's an improvement for them, upon which my guildies, friends and I always trade them. Strangers do the same for me if I greed since there're so many of the same class in the team.
  16. I think the prices are perfectly fine the way they are to be completely honest. It's a guildbank, meaning it's a combined effort of the whole guild... Not 1 person. If overtime everyone chips in a bit and say the rare materials you obtain from the raids go towards guild-funds for a little extra, you'll have all the tabs you desire in no time. If this is too much effort, then realise it's a luxery, it's in no way a must to use the guildbank at all or use it for certain purposes only. Clean up the tabs on a regular basis and make sure people know who can make what. I think all those luxeries such as legacy perks and indeed guildbanks are the best moneysinks. Better than putting it in places it heavily affects the gameplay.
  17. My top 3 of what's mentioned here: 1. Legacy Bank, even if it's 'just' a material bank (though I'd love if it shared cash aswell, maybe items even if it said 'bound to name') would be amazing. Make additional slots or the whole thing a Legacy Unlock and EA gets their wanted Cartel Coin investment from it aswell. 2. Orange skins from Armourmech/Synthweaving getting a slight ressurection, by the examples mentioned: Making companion gear (looks) craftable, removing the class-restriction, Reputation skins and bringing back some of the old skins (Tioneese/Columi/Rakata/Battle Master/War Hero etc.) 3. I suddently realise how amazing top 3 sounds...
  18. Treeks armour is moddable, so yes, you never have to change the set aslong as you replace the mods. Note though that both off-hands are shields, a tanking-offhand, if you prefer him to heal you will want to buy her a power generator at some point. I'd highly recommend going Cybertech over Biochem if you don't plan on doing end-game. Reuseables at lower levels are difficult to keep up with. Especially if you plan on leveling more toons Cybertech is a great. Buying gear with planetary commendations and GTN gear is also an option, but depending on server you're generally more expensive off than doing it yourself. I enjoy changing my mods (and companions mods) every few levels and buy enhancements with planetary commendations, it makes question a breeze.
  19. In total it gives: +40 Aim/Cunning/Strenght/Willpower +50 Endurance/Presence Matrix Cube (http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=91505) if I recall correctly. Per datacron it's between 2-4 (Fleet/Makeb is +10) so whether it's worth getting is up to you. Over-all it's not that much stat. I would (if you decide to get them) only get Endurance (maybe Presense, increases companion effectiveness) and Tech-users: Aim and Cunning or Force-users: Strenght and Willpower. Willpower for example is completely useless for a Tech-user such as Bounty Hunter, where-as cunning does add a bit of damage/critical chance. My advise for you would be to only get datacrons that require little jumping, some are simply hidden along the way such as the Balmorra cunning one. Ofcourse someone equally skilled with all datacrons would outdamage you, but if it's really such a struggle (and likely get frustrated) it still is 'only' 2-4 stats per datacron. If you want to know what I do, yes, I do get all datacrons on my so far 16 toons, how-ever for me it's a 2-3h hunt per toon to get all of them (presence/endurance/tech-stats or force-stats) for you it seems like a very painful progress.
  20. Maybe I missunderstood, but on my screen the number and the dot are always the same colour. So I think it both has the same meaning, like you said, the difficulty.
  21. Thank you for the answer! Last question I should have said I ment it for the sawbones, my bad. ^^ Will get the relic as soon as I saved up for it and fear I'll have to get the full pvp set to compare. Hoped I could be lazy.
  22. 1. Cunning, Power, Accuracy and Surge are your most important stats. People enjoy Critical in Dirty Fightning due to easier energy management, but it's usually not profitable for Damage per Second. Every tier it's a bit mix-matching to get the desired stats. Skill armourings, Artful Mods (unlettered) and a mix of Adept/Initiative is what I'd aim for. 2. Serendipitous Assault is definitly one of the most amazing relics. Other options are: Tech damage procs, Devastating Vengeance or Boundless Ages, after 2.4 I'm not sure which one is the best. Serendipitious Assault apparently stacks now. 3. Classic Vendor over-all isn't too useful for you anymore. 4. Sharpshooter is great. All skill trees (and a hybrid) are good, depending on the fight. Sharpshooter is usually my favourite but I roll Dirty Fightning or Hybrid in fights that require movement (personal prefferance.)
  23. I'm 99% sure it does, I either recommend ship training dummy or waiting for a second for the Mercanary to finish. It definitly does if you're in a team, but I doubt it's any different if you're not teamed up.
  24. Enhancements (all that are available to craft) are made by Artifice. Artifice also makes Hilts/Dyes/Off-hands/Colour Crystals.
