  1. Thanks for taking the time guys. I don't understand why people hide from ELO as the majority of the pop probably doesn't check that.
  2. Had an idea I wanted to pass by you guys and hopefully the devs if it is popular: 1. Remove ranked as we know it altogether 2. Everyone queues in the same pool with 1-4 players 3. All players participating in warzones now have their ELO tracked (not just ranked as it is now) This could be popular for a couple of reasons: - Given the amount of players that flow in and out of warzones, proper match making could finally occur - premades would be less of a problem - Ranked would now exist for 8 man warzones, not just 4 There could still be gear to grind but they could also give out special rewards to those that achieved ..... a certain rating AND maybe a certain amount of wins. Thoughts? Concerns?
  3. Eric, please pass this on to the devs good sir: 1. Ranked games consist of arenas AND warzones, 4s and 8s. 2. Allow 1-3 people to queue up at the same time... NOT 4, this will give ease to some of the premade problems 3. End game rewards consist of PVP only gear better than anything attainable in regular warzones.. and better than the next tier coming out the prior season (see 4) 4. Season rewards as mentioned in 3 are NOT based on rating but wins ..... this is VERY important as playing enough will grant wins by default given you actually participate and aren't totally fubar. 50+ ranked wins as a first tier requisite, etc. 5. profit My entire guild is begging me to play ESO beta this weekend. It sickens me as there is no longer any loyalty.... but can you blame them? They are touting the siege raids and the open world PVP as DAOC incarnate...... I don't want to participate but given the current state of pvp I cannot blame them. Please keep comments constructive as I am sincerely concerned with the state of pvp in this game.....
  4. I have confirmed this. Please update your front page Randle. This is BIS over obroan. The loss in secondary stat is miniscule. In my case, around .03 surge loss vs the gains mentioned above.
  5. Arenas just released..... maybe lets take a look at class balance? 2.5 is too far..... I had high hopes this game would steal many subs from WOW. love this game and will stay just want to make you aware .... Your metric guys have steered you wrong for awhile now ..... maras/jugs needs to be gutted ...... and fast...... snipers need their damaged decreased by ALOT..... Ops heals .... well im less concerned with the TTK but they need some nerfs as well. We have said this over and over and over..... f2l? fail to listen? It is real simple my man, do it and keep subs...... lets make pvp great... those classes have had enough for far too long. your players are imploring you.
  6. We are recruiting mature and active players for pvp premades, ops, fps, events etc. We are a large guild and can field pretty much anything on a nightly basis. We take pvp seriously, but are very laid back in vent. Our raid progression is only HM S&V atm as we recently started getting larger. If you wanna come by for a good time, whisper Rayste in game. We offer 75 man Ventrilo, two guild vaults (level of access based on rank), and a guild website.
  7. OP I sincerely agree. 6 months from now after over a million WOW subscibers come to swtor (yes im optimistic) , people will look back and see this as a great move. 8v8 hanging over the arena guys head (yes if they stayed live there would be a lot of drama about how 8v8 ranked is the "real skill") will incite fewer players to compete. I know that logic may be hard to follow, but I genuinely believe bioware is making the right move.
  8. Sorcerer, assassin, merc, bounty hunter...... can we get a little love on the right trees? Any plans to buff these before arenas release?
  9. Devs listen to the large amounts of player feedback regarding a couple of classes. WZ arenas success will hinge on class balance but not as much needs to change as some think. Also, WOW class balance is not the same as SWTOR class balance. Anyone who has played WOW understands this. This wont affect overall game balance: 1) tone down OP/scoundrel heals slightly (we all know they are OP in 8v8, OWPVP, etc. etc.) and many threads have stated such. 2) tone down sin/shadow dps in middle tree. Yes, they are supposed to be the lone wolf .... they should beat most classes in 1v1, but they shouldn't be destroying classes at such an alarming rate. The downtime from kill to kill is virtually nonexistent. This is why we see good sins topping damage charts when played correctly. 3 sins and 1 op heals would be a disaster if implemented as is. Smash? meh, I see this to be less of a problem in smaller scenarios with less bottlenecks. Although, 3 marauders would have some major dps coupled with amazing survivability but they would be third on the list and probably not game breaking. Snipers may be a small issue as well but meh, cant ask for everything at once. Cant wait!
  10. Ultimatum is recruiting. WE have dabbled in the Ranked scene but do not have a good team yet. We mostly premade, but boy is it fun.
  11. I agree with this assessment. Regardless of difficulty in spec, which I agree some specs need quality of life changes, ALL Classes should be balanced around the top 1% of players. These "pros" show you what the class is capable of regardless of difficulty. Doing it any other way gives you the current smash epidemic. I mean cmon bioware ....
  12. Hard to say. I can tell you that POT5 has excellent pvp and fast reg wz queue times as well as open world PvP events. The community isn't a total disaster either. Cant go wrong with it I wouldn't think.
  13. The bonuses (crit, surge, hp, etc.) only apply once for each faction. I have 4 level 50's that I have confirmed this on the imp side. My question is this: do these bonuses apply legacy wide if I level 4 50s on the pub side? ie 2x crit/surge overall for all characters.
  14. Any word on whether or not the team will be adding new pvp content? My guild is hanging around for another month or so in hopes of some type of added content in the form of arenas, new warzones, ranked season 1, stat tracking .... something. Anyone heard anything?
  15. really appreciate it. This post was not a testament to how well, or how badly I was doing as a GM, but a cry out to bioware for end game content. Three things my guildies would really like to see: 1) something beyond 8 v 8 play, whether that be 4v4 or 12 v 12, the sky is the limit. 2) some form of stat tracking: whether that be kills, wins or whatever, it would not hurt the community for bioware to track our pvp progress 3) some type of small reward rather than titles for valor rankings : small boosts to stats ..... additional skill points, etc. This game really needs some of the above.
  16. Played star wars since 1.3, boy what a fun ride..... built my guild up on POT5 from 4 members to 85 members. I realize that isn't to the standards of some of the bigger guilds, but it meant a lot to me. My guild likes to run ops and fps on a weekly basis but we mostly pvp. Bad feelings of the last patches have been realized, bolster is ok I tell them, I use the augment glitch occasionally to show them what it affects.... and yes that is fine. I convince them that conqueror gear is worth grinding... and they believe as do I. The augment glitch will be fixed on the 14th... No problems whatsoever... We run a few ranked warzones a week. we lose mostly but it is fun. ranked coms are good.... they ask me what is next.... where to go from here.... and I am not running a noob guild, a lot of these guys are legit, they top pug matches in regular warzones with myself.... a couple input that we should have arenas ... I don't disagree. I actually agree that anything would be a shot in the arm for pvp. So what are we to do? I tell them to keep grinding ... but they grow jaded of that. I tell them its all gonna be ok, let us keep making premades and win a fair amount of our games. but what now? what do I tell them is after the grind? I have had a few members say they were gonna test out ESO, fine, hell I might too.... but it breaks my heart. I want my pvp guild to survive, and I want ops to stay fun as well. but what is the end game? the same warzones over and over are fine.... I enjoy the pvp in swtor, but whats the end game? why do they keep logging in? for preseason one? a lot don't like the high level of entry required for it,.... but we run it, we lose and I have fun. but they say something needs to change in pvp to keep them coming back. I don't have the answers for it..... I wish I did. I know ranked isn't what will keep them coming back though. what can I do? class balance aside, which is still a step child of biowares metrics, what keeps your guild and friends playing? i dont want to lose my guild to LoL or WoW or ESO or w/e the next big mmo is. I am being as sincere as i know how here, there is absolutely no troll in my post. any positive comments are most welcome. Does bioware care anymore? thanks for listening.
  17. This x 1000. you hit the nail on the head ...... it is waaay too restrictive. The devs have even mentioned in a yellow post that they understand it is hard to A) get 8 people on that want to participate and B) have the proper classes AND specs to play it. Queuing up without this obviously leads back to A because people get discouraged when they get rolled with a rag tag group. I think smaller group sizes would eliminate some of these problems .... hint Arenas. I am not certain what the answer is, but 8 man ranked does not appear to be working.
  18. Wall of text but I saw SWTOR needs arena, I will support that. /signed

    The End Game

Something is missing.... I cannot quite put my head around it. I come from Ultima Online and Dark Ages of Camelot. I do love this game but as far as pvp goes we need something more. 1. Bolster is fine if it works properly. I am happy with a small advantage supposedly granted with conqueror. It keeps you grinding. But gear gets replaced. What doesn't get replaced? Wins, valor rank, etc.... for starters this would be fairly easy to track and put on the swtor site (wins, kills, damage? something.) Why not do it? And why is valor rank still capped at 100? 2. And why can we not have arenas? I have heard the number one reason... class balance issues .... Well, I think classes are more balanced now than they have ever been AND it would be a lot of fun to see the different combinations brought into arenas of say 4v4. (what about 4 sins?! my answer to that is ... what about 8? some of these so called fotm classes wouldn't work any better with 4 than they would with 8.) Please input any suggestions you have for a sustainable end game...... I am no developer, these are just my opinions. I did like the whole realm rank points in daoc as well... however that starts being more about time played vs skill after years of play time.
  20. Agreed. 4v4 would be fantastic fun. I would vote for this over replacing ranked season 1.
  21. Actually, this is pretty simplistic but, yes.......... Fixing those four things would do wonders for PvP wzs. Hopefully Alex or BW sees and understands that.
  22. Why? I think Arena's (4v4 comes to mind) are a wonderful idea. "Ranked" warzones should have never been set at 8 people. Its fun for pug games, but its a hassle with team composition unless you belong to one of the 3 or 4 main guilds. I do, however, understand that class balance needs a HUGE pass before this happens. FOTM classes become more glaring the fewer the numbers. Off the top of my head: 1) Rage spec needs a pass 2) Bubble stun needs to be looked at 3) OP healers are way too powerful 4) Sorc/merc dps needs a boost 5) OP dps needs a little more survivability or some sustained boost (careful with their burst though) 6) Pyrotech dps way too bursty, and survivability needs a little boost
  23. You are right, it absolutely does matter...... Having said that, I have noticed a definite increase in my damage output by dropping in 2-5 pve mods. I have tried them all. Now that may have something to do with who i was playing at the time. If they were lower or similiar expertise then sure that needs to be factored in. I also noticed a decrease in my survivability. The real question is..... what's that perfect balance? And should every class be considering this? I saw the post earlier how only certain AC's should consider this, but i am not convinced. My highest output per tick of whatever is being cast has come with between 1100 and 1200 exp as a dps. That isnt to say that was my highest warzone total. I think i put out 650k in a voidstar when i was wearing around 1250 - 1300 expertise. Again that may have just been based on external factors and composition of the other team. I thoroughly enjoy these threads, but Smash you really need to calm down. State your points and do the math but there is no reason to be such a hot head. So having said all that, can we run more in depth calcs on this subject? I know Randle has probably ran them until hes sick of it .... it just feels like both sides of this are leaving things out.
