  1. I routinely sell the missions I randomly crit while slicing or stuff I pick up for 50% less than what I see them on the market. I am mostly looking to clean out my inventory. A lot of people are like me. We don't need the credits and are just looking to do some daily cargo cleaning. Your GTN stock market game where you try to buy low and sell high is my GTN salvation army game where I sell low to noobs. But I admit, while I know some dude will be happy to get a good deal on the items I sell I also enjoy the thought that I make some randoms rage about profit margins.
  2. Steven hawkings is a brilliant scientist who obtains data and works out the theories based on that data... he uses something called science. He's not a nerdlinger using zero data and equations that don't even reasonably factor in the cool downs. Random math without data or testing is not science. The fact is the equations used in this thread are pathetically simplistic. Guild data is fine for how I was using it. All our guys are lvl 61 geared as I said before. Equipment optimization beyond mod level moves things around by a few percentage. I collected over 100,000 seconds of data on Zorn+Toth and Kephis. Even if you believe there is 400% "spikeness" to use the swtor terms the data would still be within 2% of the correct values.
  3. Their graphs aren't as bad as you are trying to make them sound. Yes they are using nerdlinger equations with lots of simplifications and humorous assumptions. But guess what I've looked at your equations and so are your results. The real way to look at this has always been with the scientific method. Over the course of my sampling using my guilds parser data from HM zorn&toth and kephis I've accumulated enough that I can confidently say assassins take more damage (lose more health). Variations in equipment at the campaign level are not enough to balance these out.
  4. How do you figure on the mathematics of assassins not being the worst. Here were some charts of the math from 1.2 http://imgur.com/a/TU0Sn Now the SA is behind the jug and not just the powertech in 1.3 It is mathematically the worst by far. I will find the new charts (note that almost all math that has been done on tanking survivability in swtor factors in the assassin self heals.) The math is pretty clear that powertech is by far the best. There is some argument that assassin is better than juggernaut because it can do more single target damage.
  5. I think people are just calling it like they see it: a crappy video of premades playing against people barely paying attention. Such a crappy out of touch video getting posted is a pretty clear indicator that there is nothing good or interesting going on in ranked in swtor. hahahaha, It amazes me that people even think this video is decent. Watch some actual top competition videos in a game with a skill ceiling above ankle level and maybe you'll get some perspective on why videos like this reflect the embarrassing reality of how bad ranked (and any players) in swtor are.
  6. In the end there is two kinds of people who play an MMO: The very casual ones who don't care and are barely paying attention and the fat kids who aren't talented enough to play an FPS... or even an rts. It's always clear that swtor pvp is never going to have high level ranked play. A dead game with a low skill ceiling and large equipment dependencies. It's just going to be mediocre fat kids who absolutely can't cut it in an actual competitive game. The disappointing part of this video was that it was the talentless fat kids vs the casuals and not the talentless fat kids vs the talentless fat kids. That said isn't PVP in an MMO all about the talentless fat kids premading in a pub and thinking they are cool? Perhaps this dud making and posting this video is a pretty true reflection.
  7. also that would be 121.5 average absorb not shield also let's be honest 121.5 shield even if you can look at it like that (which is dubious) is not "MUCH" better than 113 shield moreover 121.5 absorb is not better than 113 shield at high levels P.S. you are also right about the diminishing returns. I guess their are many reasons why the absorb proc relic is not better than the pvp shield relic Another somewhat strange part of the original thread was that the "top" PVE stats are lower than my relatively mediocre ones I'm sporting 395/644/605 and my stats would be better maybe 50 better if I had a good offhand
  8. I don't understand this at all. The math of how that's a 91 shield rating average over duration or why that would be better than a +113 at all times relic. http://swtor.askmrrobot.com/gear/41529/campaign-relic-of-shield-amplification
  9. 25% 60% 60% is not currently achievable. Neither is your tank being "hard as hell to kill." In the end when you're done with all the optimization from where you are at now your tank will be an extremely small almost immeasurable bit more survivable and you will not be able to notice a difference when playing. That said humans can be good at lying to themselves and you may be able to fantasy an increase in survivability. I suppose inaccurate fantasies about increased survivability will be the real thing we'll have to look forward in future thread updates.
  10. yes but what's his force bonus dmg? and do not mistake my above sentences "yes" for agreeing with you. You sound as you are
  11. They are all easy it's an MMO it's a computer game for the fat kids. The important thing is to have fun
  12. Is it like PVP where shields are not very useful. I don't see iron fist proc too much so IT seems to me that shields aren't too good vs bosses.
  13. It seems like the republic characters or players are way worse on average. Why is republic so hopeless and bad?
  14. Or will they continue to have it and tanks be worthless in pvp?
  15. *eye roll* That's extremely marginal. Let's say a player receives 6000 healing 20000*1.03+6000 - (20000+6000)/.97 ~= 200 a player is about 1% better off with 3% mitigation vs 3% more base health here. (a pvp medpack will heal 200 more to the integrated cardio player making the integrated cardio player exactly equal btw) While a player is better off with mitigation it's a very minor amount better off. I just thought you should know that as a swtor player you look ridiculous and stupid thinking mitigation is great and integrated cardio isn't for pvp.
  16. It's always seemed strange to me that swtor noobs get hard about 3% mitigation but not 3% health boost I dont' mean to single you out. It seems like a common thoughtless mistake.
  17. thanks for the character builder link awesome site http://www.swtor.com/holonet/classes/bounty-hunter/powertech
  18. ? trying to decide if I should goal for a pyrotech or shieldtech in end game. The bioware webpage seems to indicate particle accelerator is getting a horrible nerf to only proc on incendiary missile so I"m thinking about switching to shieldteceh when I get to lvl 50 and gear up.
