  3. Hey at what equipment level am I better off with a PVE barrel for my mainhand/offhand than a 67 PVP barrel? 75? 72? 78? Should I take out the expertise crystals for power crystals? any other good modifications?
  4. *eye roll* u lose some sustained dps by having an arsenal but you also get a lot of burst not to mention the far more important clenses for things like hateful entity
  5. Sentinels are tough with the aoe reduction and self healing and they do a lot of dmg so it's not to bad 2 have 2 of them having a guardian dps brings a lot of utility to some groups. That said it seems like there are certain things that are essential: 1. 1 mara 2. a sniper for aoe shield situations 3. an arsenal merc (or maybe a jug dps). sniper armor is not practical so you get 1 spot of DPS flexibility in a raid team. I think the real loser is sorc dps. Those things are terrible and offer absolutely zero utility. Light Armor? LoL
  6. Thanks for all the help guys. We were able to pull it off on the 2nd night. Still It's annoying to have to spend multiple hours working out one bosses mechanics. I feel like its not a very good fight due to repetitive length. Worse even than TFB in that regard strat we used was sorc knock right, assassin knock left, then both merc and sniper knock at the end with constant interrupt mashing from the maras.

Hey running through this and we can't pull off a single chainned manifestation check our group comp is pt/sin tank mara/mara/sniper/merc dps sorc/op healer We've tried interrupting suffering as fast as possible or waiting for right before knocks to interrupt them but we still get upwards of 25% resistances from the adds. Things we've tried: having 4 people at a time dps and 4 people stun -> not enough dps having eveyrone dps and then using knocks at last minute -> some adds always resist and we die. Maybe we don't' understand the suffering mechanic well enough. Or is a lot of knock/stun resistances unavoidable? Anyway some step by step instructions on how to do this phase would be appreciated.
  8. Forum nerlingers would tell you that 50% chance at 100% mitigation is better than 100% chance at 49% mitigation. This can be true for a 80k hit but a lot of the time it's pretty bad advice. At what point would You make the trade under normal situations? I think I'd go as low as 100% chance at 35% vs 50%/100%. Better for everyone in the raid
  9. The raiders on that site are in general a far better and more accomplished guild than Keyboard Ninja's or in some likelihood whatever guild you're in. I still remember how many MONTHS it took keyboard ninja to clear TFB hardmode lol. So, odds are this place is probably missing something rather than them. But in the meanwhile this forum will continue to produce very simplistic optimizations of gear and treat them as fact. Still haven't seen a decent simulation yet.
  10. maybe the 50k tanks raid the toughest contents in the game and want to be able to survive things like "The End" with only a sniper shield to protect them. Then again why not wear a sorc bubble I'd take him over you too. Odds are EXTREMELY low (read: you didn't) your mitigation stuff made up for 10k difference in health
  11. I figure someday when I'm bored I'll put together dudes from guild to take this boss down. What is the best DPS profile for it? 11 anni maras? or would we want more ranged? What is an ideal heal composition? I figure the deathmarks won't be cause for more than a couple humiliating wipes (for the healers who botch it)

  13. There is a Rocket boost, a Jet Charge, a Jet Boost, but not Rocket Charge. I'm thinking it should be an aimable leap like the time in the story line when you overclock your backpack and take out all those dudes.
  14. I'd say an inexperienced tank that seems to have good awareness and just needs to learn the fights/get gear is usually highly desirable. But, it might be easiest to find a progression group as a DPS

  17. Often times when I do group finder it's with two of my pals (I'm tanking, they are heal, dps) and we group finder a 4th dps. We're all in 78s, experienced raiders, etc. Just doing the weekly to get our CPU companions some more 78s and have fun. Immediately after the group forms and we're in the flashpoint I give the 4th guy the business (well call the 4th guy Poor Sod for the generic purposes of the following dialog). Usually I start by saying "Listen up Poor SoB... er Poor Sod" "Listen up and Listen good because I'm only going to say this once" and then I don't say anything. Usually at that point they'll say something like "?" and one of my pals will then say "Jesus Christ dude he already told you once why are you causing problems?" and the other one will say "oh man I can't believe you said that after he had already told you once... We may have to vote kick this guy" and then I'll say "yeah. I've already told you once Poor Sod DON'T make me tell you again" At this point about a 1/3rd of the time the 4th person leaves. Sometimes he'll put us on ignore in which case we vote kick him. Then a 5 or so minutes in Poor Sod will ask a question or one of us will pull a second mob/3rd mob for excitement and well say "gosh darn it Poor Sod why the hell did you do that? Pay attention dude you don't want me to have to tell you twice." one time there was a guy in body type 3 (the fat one) that we kept telling "try to tag along fattie" or "I'm not sure this guy can do it I think he is too fat" during a jumping skip. He ended up reporting us and CSR gave us an excessive role play violation. anyway if they tough it out they are treated to a clean run which is more than any group que'ing solo dps deserves. And we tell them to foward any complements or complaints to our guild master. (who gets really mad about it)
  18. I tank the tough ones HM DP hah, nm snv no problem But I still don't know why people are willing to trade 1 endurance for ~1 mitigation on mods/enchancements. I use mitigation augs Is it really that much better?
  19. I'm not surprised that the smash specced UR complainers have sounded like tards. It always seemed to me that that spec was for tards.
  20. I think these guys are spreading misinformation about it. He seems to cast driving thrust on cool down no matter your range: after you come out of the door (I guess the DPS in these guys ops group dont' put raptus right next to the door when the tanks come out), after he knocks you back (I guess these guys dont' taunt durring the channel), after an execute (dito on the non taunt)

  23. 42 of the 50 top rated players are imp, etc etc,etc but it seems like pub have a long streak of premading and winning pubs on JC. Why is this the case on JC? It doesnt' seem that the pubs are particularly good... just the imps are really bad

RIght now our group is Tank powertech Tank powertech Heal Operative Heal Sorc DPS Mara DPS Mara DPS Sniper DPS Merc What would happen if we replaced our sniper toon with the same guy on an equally geared merc? Obviously emergency healing would go up (like calpyhus 3rd phase) but simplification on DP would be trickier. It will also be harder to kite calpyhus in Council. Maras are very tough dps so that has a real appeal to me. Not to mention that they will be top dps in 2.5 Are the problems not worth the benefits?
