  1. I love that this person believes that he/she knows the correct market price. How could he/she possibly claim to know this? That is like tell people how they should play a game... /facepalm
  2. Ha! Good one. I am not sure if anyone else got this.
  3. But it gives you an appreciation for what they have to do to fix things, no doubt. I am sure I will have the kiddies make fun of me for saying this but I started my Bachelors in game development but changed to networking administration about 1/4 through because I really started to hate the math and boring nature of programming. The first 5 or 6 classes gave me the basic understanding of how a game is developed from the ground up. I know I am just another person saying "I am a developer," even though I am not really, but I do recognize how much work building and bug fixing a regular, non-mmo game is so I tend to give the developers the benefit of the doubt.
  4. Well you might have a better idea of how a program or script takes precision and planning, not a gung-ho approach.
  5. I love how people automatically shoot down people that mention they are a software dev/programmer. You people do know that there are quite a few programmers in the world, right? It is obvious they mention the fact they are a programmer to help validate their post and their experience, which is a perfectly valid way, but if they ever read these forums, or any other game forums for that matter, they would realize that the smartarses will come out in droves to poke fun and say "we are all developers now." Get over it. I imagine there are many people on the forums that are programmers. Just because you guys are too dense or self-important to realize that their point may actually have more truth than your deluded opinion, does not mean that they are not any less a programmer.
  6. If anyone quit over that quest then they were not able to problem solve. I could see if it were two elites both beating on you at the same time but there is an NPC that will keep aggro of the sith nearly the whole fight unless you try to AoE them both at the same time.
  7. Or possibly have Bioware require everyone to take a class spec oriented test and then grade it so that we can all know the proficiency of everyone in relation to their class... No, but seriously... Really? This is why Bioware probably did not put a combat log in. They did not want people to be so focused on min/maxing, like everyone is Rift is, and just play to have fun. If you do not like Pugging then I am sure you can figure out what you should do...
  8. How about this. People that like the game are too busy playing and not rating a game they enjoy and people that hate it, because they went in with preconceived notions, have nothing else to do but complain and give the game bad reviews. I like the game and would rate it an 8 or so but I have been too busy with life and playing the game so I have not rated it yet.
  9. I am not sure he/she is really telling people to not use the boards but to simply not act like immature little kids about the state of the game (or whatever made them mad that day). I am pretty sure no one wants to read the "I quit" threads other than for, exactly what he mentioned, the rubbernecking experience.
  10. So what about when I join a group with a person for a heroic and then realize after I heal that person, that I am now flagged for PvP since they were flagged for PvP. I would say that the whole healing a combatant thing should flag the healer for the combat situation that the NPC or PC is currently engaged in. In this case it is PvP.
  11. Congrats at misconstruing my words! I never claimed it did not exist, just that I had no issue with it. I was more hinting at the fact that people will find something to complain about just to complain.
  12. Seriously OP, what the heck is your point? Are you saying that SWTOR, or MMO's in general, should not have bugs? Really the analogy is just terrible. You are comparing apples to oranges. If you cannot deal with the bugs then simply take your money elsewhere. I, for one, have not had an issue with the so called ability delay that everyone had been freaking out about.
  13. Newegg's first Shell Shocker deal of the day today is probably a better computer than what you would get from Best Buy and it is $249.99 after you take into account the $10 mail-in rebate. I would recommend that and then buying a $100 video card to go with it and you will have a rig that will play SWTOR. The kicker is that you have to put it together but there are so many tutorials of how to do this online that I am sure you could do it. You might want to watch the Shell Shocker for the next few days because I have seen some pretty nice combo deals come up that are better than what is listed today. Just an idea.
  14. You would need to buy a video card to put in a system like that since the on-board or whatever video card they have in that cheap computer would not be able to play SWTOR at a reasonable level.
  15. Bye then. This thread will be removed anyways.
  16. Well said. I fought the EverCrack bug back in the early 2000's.
  17. Oooh! Thank you for that link. That helps me a ton. It looks like probably the next couple days for me then.
  18. I am just curious if people that got their early access invite and are currently playing would be willing to post when they officially posted their pre-order code to the website. I am just trying to get an idea of when I can expect to get into the early access. I put mine in on August 22nd. This is in no way a rant thread about not getting in on the first day of early access. I just want to get a better idea of when I might get my invite (based on the responses of my fellow players) so I can tell my wife that I will be busy for the next few weeks.
