  1. Yes...it is still not the same. It is far better than what we have dealt with for so long now, but it still does not match the solid thump of the original sound. I am simply relieved to have an alternative to the absolutely pathetic little sounds we have been saddled with for so long. I wish we could get a sound preview for blasters:)
  2. all this time.......uugghhh Well, I did get the AD-11 blaster and I do like it's sound, has sufficiently strong default sound so the charged burst, although the same as flurry of bolts sound, is MUCH nicer for me now!
  3. The spoiler question I have concerns the Belsavis class quest:
  4. I just got the extra force from the lightening tree, and everything else is in the corruption tree. I keep geared up ( Khem too) and at lvl 23 so far has been smooth sailinbg. But, I always like healers, I have not played my toon that can't heal in many months. Healing just seems to makes battle less of a dps race and I like long CC abilities. The battles seem much more managed and controlled to me as a healer with good CC. So not much of a hybrid at all for me, I probably will go right up the heals tree now. ...but, I do pve. PVP would be a different story I am poretty sure. Funny thing, about Sorcs in demand as healers; on fleet somebody sent me a message asking me to heal an FP, but I never PUG anymore, in fact basically I play solo now. So I told them sorry but I don't do that, and they got extremely mad and said nobody should be allowed to play a sorc if they refuse to help groups. So it seems sorcs are quite popular for healing ( though in general healers are quite popular in any case)!
  5. I ended up going Sorc...and even as a healer I seem to mow things down. Healing appeals to me as a tool, so I tend to always go for a healer ( i have a much neglected non healing toon...may never go back to it, not sure). Just my thing. But, I really really am enjoying the Sorc! Still low level with it, so maybe there are suprises ahead but classes seem to develop and improve later.
  6. Yes I rather feel the same way. Might be cool if a friendly, non-hardcore guild did HM FPs, but PUGs I abandoned a long time ago as no fun. Might induce me to do FPs. Operations are not my thing. Friend is in a guild, really nice people, but hard core Ops only. Also I am not a pvp player ( which many ppl have suggested I do; i have zero interest in it), so I am finding less to do here really. To each his own, some ppl love how things are, I feel a bit at a loss. I hope the path in Makeb is not gonna be restrictive for a solo player, as to aquiring gear for it. Time will tell if I stay or go.
  7. Funny, and perhaps true. Almost all my toons are male Rattataki (only have a few and only really play 2 anymore)...but I see few others.
  8. Yes, I do wish there was something more for solo/duo type players at endgame too, aside from dailies. Gotta be stuff for group type players of course, but schedule and time availability make me solo mostly. When I am lucky, a friend is on when I am too. Not that often though... and usually just 1 friend at the same time. So end game is a bit of a mess for me, and I have been playing much much less recently, and spending more time on another game which is a bit more flexible in this. I suppose BW will decide what it really needs, but this is something i would like to see. There is group content, but it would be kinda cool if endgame had a little more for solo/duo players too. Just so there would be a wider appeal, something for everyone. Kinda doubt it will happen though.
  9. This, very much so...and not just Ilum by any means. A way to make it so you can turn of pvp flagging on a pve server. A t choice in preferences so you cannot be auto flagged, and not help or harm a flagged player. I just don't bother going to some places anymore for dailies, it is a waste of time. For me, griefers have indeed taken enough fun from the game with the auto flagging exploits (it is so easy to do),that I play much much less. This is another thing that it seems could simply be avoided without GMs, by simply having this option. Other games have handled this matter swell, I wish swtor would too. I truly love this game with the exception of the griefing, and slowly have been switching to another game. At some point, the griefing issue will push to me to simply switch. It's a shame, I really love the game, but it is a matter of time I think. I doubt anything like this will be implemented.
  10. Ganking pve players is a pretty good definition of a jerk. This what the person was talking about, not pvp players attacking pvp players.
  11. I have seen this sort of griefing rather a lot ( PVE server..so griefing...not owpvp). And they don;t care that few are flagged since it is really really easy to get people flagged for ganking. And being griefers they are not really looking for a battle, they WANT pve players to gank. I doubt many pvp players try these raids though, for the above reasons. It it is not PVP and no fun for a real pvp player to grief, and few pvp players may be there (on a pve sever, I mean..though I personally see quite a few people flagged on my pve server). Maybe on pvp servers it could happen and be real owpvp. I have some old friends on Jung Ma who'd love that!
  12. There are a few ways that are brain-dead simple to flag an unflagged player. I'd love to see a choice in prefs at least, to disable auto flagging (which also would make it so you cannot heal or harm a flagged player). I have seen this type of griefing way too often. Seriously, players on pve servers choose pve servers becuase they don't want to do owpvp, or to be griefed. Really it is not acceptable that pve servers have these exploits. It is not what players want; only griefers could oppose a way to disable auto-flagging on pve servers. Pvp servers, well, it is expected there that a player is open to pvp.Common sense. But likewise it is common sense that pve servers should be free of auto flagging exploits. It is just as if this mechanic were MADE to attract griefers. Which, it does. No real pvp players condone such exploits, only griefers.
  13. Yes, my favorite is probably the terribly nerfed Operative and Scoundrel. If you don't to heal, you will find it hard to find groups eventually as there is a lot of predjudice aginst the classes as dps classes. At 50, this takes affect much more. So, I play solo almost exclusively, since it became apparent that many people react this way based on the generally accepted opinon that Operatives and Scoundrels are not good to have in group unless they heal... but I like the characters. You may see people quit a group if they see an Operative or Scoundrel who is not heals..just immediately quit. ( they do have a great reputation as strong healing classes and are wanted for that) I had a friend who made an Operative with me, he quit the class cause of the bad reputation it has. I am not sure if he liked it or not, but he did not want to deal with the pressure. Anyway, I went heals , I have fun solo playing what I like:) I find healing a great solo ability. So far my other favorite is the Sorc. Of course, playing solo makes such choices much easier I think. As a solo pve player, I can really choose trhe advanced class I like and not worry about who thinks a class is awful or great. I know people who have asked me why I waste my time on such awful classes like the Operative and Scoundrel, and tell me I really need to pick a "real" class. But I have fun, going for a class just because others want it/like it...well, it somehow ruins it for me. Nice that we get 12 character slots now too, so we can experiment with a lot of classes on 1 server, and can delete any you really really dislike of course to make room for more.
  14. On PvP servers, this is what many are begging for. But on a PvE server it's another story entiirely. I have friends on Jung Ma who'd LOVE this! But on my pve server, no way. Seems Ilum will have some revamped area soon but who knows if pvp players will like it. Info on it is sparse as of yet.
  15. So true; there is no warning that you are about about to be flagged if you continue. And really, it should not even be allowed it at all, for that matter. This is one change I would seriously like to see. It only creates ill -will between players. There is no up side at all to this FUBAR mechanic. The first thing devs are supposed to do is remove exploits, and this is a realy bad one. This, and similar exploits, are frequently used by griefers posing as PVP players on pve servers.
  16. Flagged players can also simply attack the mobs an unflagged player is attacking also; they need not be of thier faction. I saw this many times. On Tatooine I watched this happen when unflagged players attacked Tuskens...flagged players then attacked the tuskens too....unflagged player is flagged and ganked. The Tusken NPCs appear red for each faction. No aoe was needed. Really, it is just terrible mechanics. I also read somewhere here that that AoE heal/attack exploit was "fixed"; also not true as I saw this exploit used very recently as well.
  17. Excuse you? "server type excuse"? You're not excused, you are a griefer if this sounds cool to you. It is a PVE server, where this happened...people roll on pve servers to avoid exactly this kind of thing. The fact that it can happen does not not justify it. How could this possibly help PVP in the game? This is a good way to bring owpvp?? To grief on a pve server? Sick. Yeah, will be really popular among pve players on a pve server, I am sure. So...the "excuse" is that is there is a "real lack of owpvp" so what are the poor griefers to do, right? No pvp player would condone this garbage. Just incredible.
  18. That can be done anywhere it seems, I am not certain what happened to this player, but my point was that there are easy ways to get a pve player flagged. There are at least 2 easy ways (maybe only 2 now) to get an unflagged player flagged ( whch do not require the unflagged player to actually attack or heal a flagged player, AoE included...sneaky little exploits) , so griefers exploit these methods.Sadly, gives pvp players a bad name. It's a griefer thing, not something a real pvp player would do but that makes little difference to person who rolled on a pve server and gets griefed. What happened in this instance, I don't know. But really it isn't cool on a pve server. It can only make issues. Would be nice if they really could just totally seperate pve and pvp, and let everyone be happy. Or make a toggle in prefs, for no auto flagging, and no possibility to heal or harm a flagged player. Maybe that is some kinda coding nightmare, I don't know.
  19. Not sure how it happened but there are least 2 easy exploits to flag and gank pve players. It is bad design, tat is not an open pvp world...unless on a PVP server. It's why players roll on a pve server: to avoid people like this. Outlaws Den is indeed a pvp area but the planet is not a an open pvp planet unless on a pvp server (where one assumes all planets are essentially).
  20. The question of class balance seems big one to me too. I don't do pvp...but the changes for pvp concerns obviously affect pve a great deal (and any such changes may not please pvp players either, for that matter). I was thinking about the revised skill trees, and the class balancing I read would be here with 1.7 Personally, it worries me, as I feel the class imbalance is rather pronounced. In light of past changes I could easily see them making things even worse. Maybe I am wrong but it seems that this may indeed have a very large impact.
  21. No idea if this is true, but I had read that players will only level while on Makeb (from 50 to 55). Was a while back and I cannot recall where etc. Now like I said...I have absolutely no idea if this is true or not. But, it would indeed be a way to induce people to buy the Makeb expansion. Has anyone heard if people can indeed level beyond 50 if they do not do Makeb? That the level cap will simply exist universally? That such things as doing dailies will give you exp? A curious thing.
  22. Well I have geared all my companions pretty well and have used them all. In the end , I like Kaliyo and Scorpio the best. They hold threat so I can dps if I want to and rarely steal aggro...and, can use Backstab. With a DPS comp...my chances to use backstab are far less frequent as I steal aggro as soon as I start doing dps. I am heal spec, and I just find a tank makes things smoother. I heal companion when needed and can dps when needed. It does not work out as nicely with a DPS companion. But, everyone will have thier own taste in play style.
  23. PUGs...just become progressively worse for me. At first they were ok generally but over time, they reached a point where the good was rare and the awful was common. Usually bad attitudes, though also plain stupid game play that made everything a disaster. So, no PUGs for me. I don't care if I don't do group content anymore, if it is no fun I can't see doing it. I liked playing with friends a lot...but they tend to develope seperate interests...or, as many do, level at different rates and then loose interest in playing with lower level friends. I don't mind doing that at all..but many people do. Then, many of my friends love PvP which I never do. Others are totally enamored of Ops...which I am not thrilled with. Random group invites; I decline them. No idea what/why/who etc...and, as often as not, they are PvP flagged. I rolled on a PvE server cause i like pve and dislike pvp. Sorry but I am not getting flagged. On a pvp server sure..that is what is expected. On a pvp server I would not ask anyone to remove a pvp flag; likewise on a pve server, a player should not be somehow required, compelled, or demanded to wear a pvp flag if they don't want. Just common sense and courtesy in each case. I am purposely on a pve server, to play what I like, which does not include pvp or anything associated with it. So, I have become a solo player almost entirely. It just goes smoother for me. I am here for fun and don't want aggravation or drama. Group content with friends was great...but anymore, that does not happen. As it is I have more fun solo now.
  24. Well, scoundrel/sawbones here...did it first time by keeping Corso on passive, and turned off his jetpack so he did not leap into the fray with all of them...however, Diago did not leave the spot where the sith and jedi fought..but at least Corso was away from the sith aoe. I had moved away from the spot where the fight was. jedi seemed to have been stunned for a LONG time, as eventually both sith and Diago came after me and corso...I think without heal spec, this woulda been ugly. After Diago finally went down, the Sith was easy. Diago's heals are the tough thing of course, and inevitably I missed some interupts while healing corso. While they were both alive and attacking Corso, the Sith did some nasty damage. But then with Diago gone she was not hard to beat. Also for some odd reason Risha does not have the mission/dialog icon above her head, but if you just click on her as if she does, the conversations starts and all is ok.
  25. This has nothing to do with free speech as this is a company, it is not the government. And they do have a EULA, which is violated many times per hour in general chat. So much idiotic trolling, and so much left-wing and right-wing political trash. I never turn on general chat anymore. Maybe it has gotten even worse with f2p, but I turned off general chat to avoid hearing the idiots long ago. I doubt it will be monitored, I doubt they have the resources to do so. I just never turn on general chat. In fact all chat I don't want to see for any reason is turned off in preferences.
