  1. Unless they make new classes, I can't see a need for more than 16 (all 8 classes LSDS) so 22 is more than fair to me. Especially as another server for 22 more or since it is free to play you could always make a second account for another 22.
  2. Huge potential here, from 'Ugly' starfighter concepts to the obvious alternate looks. The Modder base would need a software base of some kind to make this stuff, something that wouldn't require the SWTOR team to recreate the material off submissions. A free 3d designer package for the engine would be too much. Maybe they could arrange export plugins for the most popular 3d design platforms. Armours would still need design works to deal with clipping on Lekku and the like. Maybe they could supply example lekku for designing around. Second issue is how they would accept these. Would they need a forum where submissions can be posted and 'liked' to reach a threshhold where the design head would judge acceptable or not for the game? Would accepted submissions be marked as such then sit in limbo for an appropriate theme of pack release?
  3. You revived a tiny two year old thread just to alt-bump your thread. There should be a name for something this perverted. I dub thee a Necrofiler.
  4. Programming effort vs something the majority of active subscribers earn incidentally. With Ilum dailies, FPs, and Ops, I hadn't even started my first alt before level 50 legacy. Why have a programmer go through every mission reward on every quest in the game to give this benefit for something that gives no appreciable benefit and you will earn inevitably just by playing the game normally? Isn't having your completed score enough of an extra benefit to earn by doing those underleveled content?
  5. A hypercrate = no mounts, no pets, no weapons, no regens. A chair emote, a pair of dance emotes, a couple of GSF paint jobs, and cybernetic pants. Not a satisfying purchase.
  6. Part showcase, part training system, but it would be nice to have a room expansion on the guild ships that is a kind of fan made dungeon that can be loaded with beasties and run with groups. This could be made more fun with the guild having to capture exceptional example mobs from across the game, and the use of bioanalysis and cybernetics to create augments to these beasts to make them stronger and more challenging or even add mechanics. No treasure drops but just a fun diversion that can be arranged like furniture to make a little training zone for role practice.
  7. My intent isn't to be an apologist, but managing expectations is something that fans should be mindful of for all Starwars as an IP and all Triple A MMOs. I can recall people who felt RotJ was a let down with Ewoks and such, let alone how the prequels ended up. The issue is there will always be people who think that something should be more without considering the ramifications of what that would mean. The Dev's announce a legacy bank. They didn't announce anything suggesting this feature would be some work around the binding system. So for me this legacy bank has sounded like it will be limited to unbound and BoL gear, and to think it would be more is not a reasonable expectation on currently released information. People already have to use some etiquette to not pick Need on stuff for companions already, but if everything is unbound to legacy because of this single feature, then who wouldn't consider Need for all on every alt and future alt. Why you would consider this a 'very great let down' and what would exceed your expectations on this feature is beyond my comprehension. As for Strongholds details, the Devs have detailed several of your questions such as transit to and from including a return to last location option. They haven't as far as I have heard stated GF queues will be disabled in the Strongholds...
  8. If the guy said he did Corellia then yeah, crock, but I received my invite to Makeb on the smuggler ship holoterminal at level 47. Was wondering *** this part of class story was when the caller congratulated me on taking down the Voidwolf despite not even having taken down Rogun yet. Bioware guidance at work again.
  9. If the end of year expansion is a 3.0 with level increase, probably just before it so max max levelled characters to run it.
  10. I think to see this as worth the design investment it needs a lot more depth. It is of value to a star wars title, but really just as something to fly around, PVP, and assault standing structures, it is doing no more than what is poorly covered by GSF and the on rails shooter. What about a 'system world' such as the space around Hoth which is navigated by your class ship which can have other player or bot controlled turrets. The layout is large and includes many asteroid fields. Missions in the area include assaulting space stations and satellites, assaulting enemy supply ships, protecting enemy assault ships, scanning ships of cargo looking for X, scanning asteroid fields and gas/dust nebula for wreckage and stuff. An option should be included for boarding these ships and space stations for in character combat. The asteroid fields should be nearly too tight for the main ship but can be navigated by the GSF fighters you can launch from your class ship to actually reach and salvage valuable wreckage from lost warships or board them. A nice trick might be to make the small space stations are on the supply ship routes and must be navigated for smuggling missions, which has options for bypassing such as hiding on larger cargo ships, a long cool down stealth systems against scans, smoky and the bandit style GSF strike on the customs vessel to drag attention from your ship, or by dragging the cargo by GSF through asteroids, or cruising slowly LONG way around them. Blasting your way through could be an option but sets a value on your character/legacy which increases the agro trigger range of patrol ships as like a negative reputation which goes down over time. These missions might have a triggered event based on the cargo, such as having to drop it and run from patrols like a being caught in a police sting, or being attached to another ship and fighting off boarders after the holocron you are smuggling, etc. That stuff is off the top of my head, so there is obviously huge amounts that can be done here but the coding on it, especially for 3d space, views from turrets on moving ships, slipping between in character to outside ship view to GSF, and programing asteroid fields and 3d capable mob units, etc, all inside the current engine seems a lot of work. To make it truly feel like it should, is like attaching another game into the SWTOR game.
  11. GratuaCuun has it right that any stuff that is cool and popular in the new movies will migrate here in some kind of fashion, just like how we have speeders that remind players of Like's snowspeeder (the toy of which was one of my favourites growing up). Second consideration is Disney will push EA for more content to exploit thier product but EA owns the rights to all Star Wars franchise games going forward. Whatever they make will be carefully tailored not to undercut the games and try to share the player base. Considering the technology of today, I'd be surprised if we don't see actual cross marketing of games, such as IF a new style of Starwars Battlefront were developed, we could import characteristics from this game \(such as characters) to that for a fee to both developers, EA, and ultimately Disney. Or a successful X-Box RPG (Dark forces 3) we might see characters of the games have tweeked copies for sale in the CM of this game as companions.
  12. It could work but it would run in to two obvious issues off the top of my head. First being that the bolster itself would somewhat undermine the goal of gear grinding. After all why do HM FPOs which argueably train you for the mechanics laden bosses of ops if the gear has NO bearing on it and doesn't compare to what you get in those ops. Secondly, because because to an extent bolster teaches poor lessons andbypassing the FPs, you would end up with players wanting in ops who can barely drive their characters let alone be prepared for the ops, which would mean those who would help in normal pugs would become less patient to deal with helping them learn the specifics and move on from group finder ops more quickly taking them out of the GF pool.
  13. Do you mean jsut the legacy or all toons as well, after all I would love to move 5 crafters I left behind for the cost of less than 3. I imagine people with 16 alts would love that even more.
  14. Try a couple to find out what fits you well. I'd suggest a shadow/assassin for single player leveling ease.
  15. While no details of what will drop from where, those avenues for aquiring elements have been announced/posted by Devs. Details of specifics are still withheld. Try the video forr examples of the kind of stuff in the Skypalace. They have said that the stronghold is legacy wide not character specific but details beyond that statement are unconfirmed.
  16. This is being sold as early access and a loyalty reward, and no one has complained about it being a limited offer that FTP players cannot aquire in game. I would have to assume that this would be purchasable with Cartel Coins as well as the in game credits but this is not confirmed. Furniture will be available as drops, in acheivement rewards, craftable, from in game vendors, and on the cartel market.
  17. As I understand it, being a subscriber on May 4th unlocks when the Expansion Stronghold is released a Skypalace with 5 rooms on Nar Shaddaa. A similar perk will happen for subscribers in June for a skypalace with three rooms. These Skypalaces will be available in August for subscribers on offical release, with prefered and free over the next two months. A Skypalace is the Nar Shaddaa Stronghold however there will also be a Tatooine Homestead and two city based strongholds for the faction homeworlds. Those three will be available for purchase with in game credits as will the skypalace for those who want them after release. The specifics of cost, abilities, and functions of strongholds and the contents of them is not yet released, though Dulfy.net probably has the best educated guesses from publicity so far.

    Voidstar rocks.
  19. See I am working under the assumption that they want us to have guild ships, so that the introductory price of having one is going to be low and affordable to even tiny guilds, but it won't be as big and spacious as it can be if you continue poring credits/reputation/grinds into it which is where the strength of numbers comes from. It is just going to be awkward when my Inquisitor is on his two room warship then my bounty hunter on his twenty room same model warship. Maybe we sublet those rooms to Czerka... As long as there is NiM content, every buff is important.
  20. If someone is running through an area on a formula that takes them past each chest as it resets, power to em for working that out and regularly running it. I used to enjoy going way into republic territory of Ilum to farm slicing nodes of the mob imperial bases there. If this is only to get rid of guys who are logging in beside the chest, looting it, and logging out, regularly, or as a bot then it would be nice to see something done here. Perhaps a short timer, that counts only when logged into the character, that diminishes the value of the chest if you just got a chest in the last couple minutes. So if you harvest a chest, it starts a count down that sets an inverse percentage on the value of the next chest. A few minutes later you get full value, but the in/out log raider gets hit to standing around.
  21. I have issue with you asking 'what happened to the story-line' and then deriding where the storyline has chosen to go after the class stories. The format is kind of obvious with the game setup. The class stories introduce us to the worlds and galaxy and establish the player, then at end game the game continues through the end game story that was foreshadowed there or building on all of that. End game is for everyone not just certain classes. Extending class stories would be nice, but really where is the payoff? How do you top the act 3 of the class stories without tearing them down? . Would you be satisfied with a new class story that only covered a couple levels after the levels it took on the previous acts? Is it really worth making 8 new short stories that don't advance our character or position in the context of the galaxy that can only be played through once? You're asking for a lot of resources for what would be incredibly hard to make good story telling, for not all of the player base, and to be run just once. Or we could continue getting new stories everyone can be involved in.
  22. Might be tired and reading too much into it, but did that just say something akin to 'this is the dual faction planet for strongholds' implying either it was recorded before Tatooine was added to the release or the homesteads may be in the faction cities. Also kind of disheartened if the future of Strongholds and guildships seems to still appear as some huge structure from the outside but then if bought at the most basic level might be tiny on the inside. I get that as a subscriber for may 4th we get the basic +5 rooms, so the video is probably accurate to the scope of what we will get but when we own little one rooms of Coruscant and enter it through what appears are the doors of a mansion, or the basic guild ship is a large hall and transport deck, the only rooms in our Harbinger class destroyer, it risks a disconnect.
  23. Seems like a lot of effort create to get the same uneven results as requesting duels in person.
  24. I can't see them wanting to run it as a price per head count, as this would only encourage the option of dropping members who haven't been sighted in recent weeks or temporary dropping of members who then resign after the purchase. We know now there is one class of ship per faction, but I had hoped we might see different vessels to reflect the size, a cosy Corellion raider is all my little republic levelling guild needs while the massive Imperial guild gets a Star Destroyer. I don't want a guild ship that feels as abandoned as the Zoist Shadow and Gav Daragon's decks. I especially don't want to have a grand warship with only two rooms for my little guild. Hopefully they have those fears worked out, but to be honest even if the cost is simply massive, credits and rep, I am content that over time even the smallest guilds can collaborate to earn it all. The massive guilds just have more collaborative power to accomplish things quickly and should be rewarded for it, not punished. Remember also the guild ship gives buffs to the guild players on the planet it orbits. If that is the case, the smaller guilds have the advantage of parking it were the majority is and not just where the guild leaders are doing an op. Anyone get the feeling Oricon space is going to be a parking lot.
  25. Of minor cosmetic benefit, but can we get a player ability called Speeder Showcase which triggers exactly like the current Speeder summon abilities, but draws a random one from the pool available/earned by the player when triggered. A similar ability called pet showcase would be nice with the difference that when crossing loading screens it would retrigger, changing which pet appears.
