  1. Isn't happy to see me? Could be anyone...my smuggler pissed off most people he met.
  2. Posts = 90% People complaining. 10% constructive comments.
  3. Duel wielding has its place. Its a high risk style that is generally not recommended by serious practitioners of melee combat. The major problem with Duel Wielding is that its done wrong...Spinning is bad, and in SWTOR, most marauders do nothing but spin. Also light armor? Seriously? You don't move your arms any faster in heavy armor then in medium armor, and with two blades you'd be focusing more on pure attack and aggression, meaning you couldn't risk greater vulnerability in lighter armor. I find duel wielding personally distasteful because of the following reasons: 1. Marauder armor sucks, it looks terrible...seriously, skirts for a melee specialist thats meant to be maneuverable? No... 2. Lightsaber combat is based on Samurai Sword forms, which is almost always with a single blade. The second blade is used as a backup if the first blade is broken/lost, not to be used in the second hand. 3. Two Bladed combat looks like a spiny silly thing. I play a marauder btw. So no going "Oh you just hate marauders". I kinda regret the choice, but meh.
  4. Sith wear whatever they want. A sith could wear a brown jedi robe and armor and still be a sith. This Empire Only and Republic Only armor is silly. Thats not how it works...The reasoning for restricting armor to a faction is when its uniforms.
  5. Or lack there of. Its been almost a month since the announcement and as usual the only one actually doing what they say is the awesome Allison. Rest are sitting on their thumbs it seem's.
  6. It's a German Server, it won't effect America, see the article on the front page about how there is no maintenance downtime. Besides, if there was a maintenance then boo hoo, have a little taste of what everyone else deals with.
  7. Actually Lightsaber combat and forms are based on Samurai combat forms, which of course is Kendo + some. There is nothing about lightsaber combat that changes to allow for greater use of force abilities, since Samurai combat forms include the use of Jujitsu unarmed combat, which means those places someone can use force abilities are already included into the styles, you just supplement martial arts manoeuvres with force abilities. The reason for the large difference in duels from the original trilogy and the prequels is that George Lucas sniffed a bit to much glue and killed off a bit to many brain cells, thus forgetting all the solid rock foundations Star Wars was based on. Remember folks, Star Wars is based on several high profile Japanese productions, from which George Lucas drew a LOT of inspiration from. Double bladed lightsabers are dumb btw. There's a reason most people use one single lightsaber in the Star Wars universe...Fandom is the only one who insists on various different kinds of lightsabers.
  8. More DPS need to realise they have Aggro release abilities that allow them to release aggro gathered from an opponent. Smuggler has that Surrender ability, Marauder has that short burst stealth move. If your tank is unable to hit taunt on an enemy because of cooldown, use these moves to get the enemy attacking the tank again.
  9. Great Appearance Customization: What's the point in letting me unlock extra creation options for a race if I can't actually apply them to the character I unlocked them with? Maybe I find I want body 3 or body 4 instead of body 2 after playing a bit. Maybe I'd like colours of my armor to look different then the main body armor. Perhaps I'd like to wear certain armor without losing all the bonuses of wearing my PVP armor set. Armor that's designed for combat, and with SW in mind: AKA, no skirts on dude with two lightsabers....seriously, you'd trip over in that thing Better Animations: Battle Forms should have different animations, and for the love of all that is holy, please change the jumping animation to be more fluid. Jedi's backflip, roll and carwheel around when dodging/jumping. They don't jump up and down stiffly like they have a carrot up their backside. Also if I'm in Juyo form my character should take a Juyo form combat stance, forms have different stances and movements for attacks. This needs vast improvement, its not Star Wars without epic athletic fight scenes. Also what the heck is with the Marauder using one lightsaber in all the Sith Warrior cutscene's when he has two available to him...its strange and weird.
  10. A lot of these problems could be solved by implementing an override folder into the engines functions. Bioware has used an override folder before in KOTOR and NWN. They know how good it is, how much of an amazing success it made NWN. It allows full customization of visual elements in the game without allowing customization of things that effect the combat, or allow players to cheat. It only effects how things look to the person playing, and not everyone else in the game. An override folder is the perfect solution to customization in MMO's, and yet the company that made override folders so successful for NWN seem's to be completely against allowing modding at all... I don't understand Bioware. They mastered customization with NWN, and then took a leap back. It makes no sense.
  11. Marauder is the interrupt master. Force Choke, Disruption and close quarters force charge, these all cancel peoples attacks. So if you see someone being bogged down by someone using an interuptable stun, you charge that sucker to get into the fray. The biggest issue with PVP at the moment is the lack of interuptable stun effects. Its to easy to use a quick attack to stun your opponents and take them out of the fight for a good ten minutes or more.
  12. There is a fleet commendations vendor next to the ship part seller on Fleet.
  13. I'd prefer the ability to return to my last location after I use the fleet pass or something.
  14. The hero engine is fine. It's just they are using an old version of it that they customized. At this point they can't change it, because its no longer the Hero Engine. Its a customized variation of the Hero Engine. So to answer your question. Yes, it's mission impossible.
  15. I think Gav Daragon has a community feel in the 50's division, not so much below. I think this is attributed to the fact that everytime you make a new character you don't know who the person is. There is no login name associated with the character. This includes when you friend someone, you don't friend the player, you friend the character. I do however find RP communities on various servers to be a real challenge to become apart of. This isn't just the case with SWTOR though, its the case with RP communities on various video games. They can be rather elitist, and quite hard to become apart of. I say this with experience born of over 18 years of gaming and 8 years RPing and contributing to a very old and successful NWN RP server. The strange thing is that guilds are supposed to increase community and co-operation within' a game. But I've often found that Guilds actually detract from this, contributing to elitism within' a game more then the spirit of community. This is possibly because people group together, cut themselves off, and the rest of the community is left out to dry.
  16. I disagree. The pop's aren't healthy when it can take 4+ hours to get a team with the LFG and the same for popping in level 50 warzones.
  17. I'd rather see the servers merge within' Asia-Pacific then be subjected to high pings on a USA or European server. Thank you for the concern however.
  18. You know, am I the only one seeing a bit of a resemblance between the Emperors plan and what Darth Nihilus was up to in KOTOR 2?
  19. The smuggler bridges a nice gap between all the republic leaders.
  20. I really REALLY wouldn't classify most of Gav Daragon as "The Rper's". The servers RP community is in the minority from day 1 of this games launch due to no enforcements on RP rules, which caused players to treat it like a less like an RP server and more like a populated PVE server with less lag. Certainly needs a merge though. Not enough players, and with a lot of the smaller guild having merged into one guild it's made playing even harder. My only concern is that the RP community that does exist on Gav Daragon will come under fire and garner a lot of abuse from players on the PVE server when they try and RP on said server.
  21. Gav Daragon on Pacific Asia on a weekday.
  22. Pretty sure I had to kill the voice actor for the inspector gadget cartoon on my Sith Warrior tonight... As well as that guy who played the voice for Mr Burns Son.
  23. Wish our servers where like that. 20 people on Fleet. 5 people on Courscent, 1 on Taris. 3 hour long waits for popping on 50+ and around 30 minutes for below 50, then with usually unmatched teams. It's pretty dreadful.
  24. This idea was a good idea, but it feels like there was not enough foresight before implementation. I think in the future there needs to be more cohesion when it comes to implementing idea's, as well as more communication between the various people in charge of area's within' the SWTOR world. Is one idea going to step on another idea? Have we implemented something that will be made irrelevant if we implement this new thing? How will what we are doing effect previous updates/changes? There is no point in fixing things or adding to the game if you are going to cause old issues to crop back up by doing so.
