  1. One of the things I thought was strange in the stream was when they addressed people's concerns about how playing alts will work with the CXP system, and they said that they'd keep an eye on it and adjust things and come up with some way to make it more alt-friendly. Which sounds good at first, except that they've had this system in the plan for months at least, they knew it was coming, and they knew alts were a big thing in this game. They should have planned ahead and had a way to better incorporate alts into this system from the moment 5.0 launched. Nothing about CXP + alts was new or a surprise, so they shouldn't have to find some way to react to it and figure out how to change it a month or more after launch. This was not an unforeseeable conflict.
  2. There's a major choice at the very end of the Trooper storyline where I went 'dark' on my LS trooper because I thought the 'dark' option was actually the right, moral choice and (IIRC) the light option was to blindly support a corrupt government. Sometimes the DS/LS choices in this game don't make any sense, so I'd say it's better to pick a personality and value system for your character, then make your choices according to it, not according to what the game designers arbitrarily decided were 'light' or 'dark'.
  3. Did you seriously just imply that people who enjoy gambling are smarter than people who don't? Because that's the opposite of true. Yes, we know what gambling is. Yes, we know a lot of people do find it exciting. A lot of people are extremely reward-sensitive. A lot of us aren't, and a lot of us are smart enough to know that when the odds are stacked against you actually getting those rewards, wasting your time/money trying to get them is stupid and unfulfilling. 'Gambling = fun' is by no means a universal truth. The devs don't appear to understand this, and that's part of the problem.
  4. I'm a woman who likes men, but I still do the female romances on my male characters. Because they're, ya know, characters, and not actual avatars of myself. People wanting to romance Arcann doesn't necessarily mean they themselves would want to romance Arcann (though it could). For some of us, we just think it'd probably be an interesting story. Guys who avoid the male romances because they're not gay probably need to examine their own personal emotional connection to their characters. They're not you, dudes. They're characters. Does watching a movie with a female lead who falls in love with a guy squick you as well?
  5. I think that their comment about the random gearing being 'exciting' sounded like someone who likes to gamble and doesn't understand that a lot of us don't like to gamble, that we'd much rather put our time/money slowly and steadily working toward a definite goal than pouring that time/money into endless chances to get something good which also have a high probability of never really paying out. I've been to Vegas. It wasn't that fun. I mostly was annoyed at how quickly and fun-less-ly my $30 or $40 disappeared, and it put me off doing any more gambling. So no, that's not really something I look for in my video games.
  6. I'm optimistic about companions coming back via cool story content in the future after what Charles said. I'm totally cool with waiting, as long as I know such stuff is coming. I'd rather wait for something cool than have them dumped on us in a quick but lame way.
  7. Agreed on both. And while they're at it, maybe they could do something about they way they lean way, way back while riding elevators. The way they stare at you reminds me of an extremely well-trained and attentive dog, ready to leap into action at your slightest gesture. Personally, I'd rather my companions act like people rather than obedient dogs.
  8. Kinda wish there was a way to 'report' people who said stuff like that to the authorities. There should be a 'sex offender watch list'. Like, we don't *know* this person is a sex offender, but based on their behavior and attitudes, someone should keep an eye on them.
  9. I've been getting quite a few of those gifts from the boxes that come as heroics rewards which we give to Oggurub, etc. So maybe they're just trying to get you to do more heroics?
  10. Aw, Ashara doesn't dump you (at least she didn't when I played that one). She just refuses to marry you. My headcanon is that she relented eventually. I haven't played through all of them yet, but I plan to. Andronikos actually worked out as a really good match for my grey-ish, kinda crazy, fairly broken Inquisitor. Their relationship actually seemed to make her a lot more stable (though part of that was because of the backstory I'd come up with for her).
  11. Um... I'm pretty sure you're responding to the wrong thread. Edit: Haha, looks like 3 of us responded at once.
  12. This is still happening. I went through Makeb just after 5.0 launched and experienced this problem.
  13. Oh, they just changed the way to get to it! Thanks! I guess it's gonna take me a while to get used to the new UI.
  14. I keep having the login screen music still loudly playing after I log in, until I get myself to somewhere to trigger a music change. It's kind of annoying.
  15. Haha! I've never heard that, but it sounds like there's truth there. What even is the ignore cap?
  16. Yeah, it's a little disturbing that 4 of the 5 romance options for force-using males is their female apprentice (only Vette on light-sided warriors isn't), but not a single female force user gets to romance a male force-using apprentice. (I mean, shouldn't the whole hot-for-teacher fetish go both ways?) I also have a male inquisitor, and I love him and want to cuddle him. He's a pacificst rattataki healer and has tattoos that make him look like a panda. He's possibly my favorite of all my characters. Although I love my light-sided male warrior too. :-D
  17. I'm taking my second character through the story, and I've just finished Shadow of Revan. I was hoping to skip Rise of the Emperor, since I already did it on one character and didn't find it all that interesting or important. But I'm not seeing the option on my ship's console to start KotFE. (I'm level 70.) Is this the way it is now? Are we required to play through Rise of the Emperor before KotFE will be available?
  18. Oh, you're right. We do need some of those. Sure, the sith are the easy ones, but I'd really love to see some hot romancable male jedi as well. Because some of us like the good boys.
  19. The wookie and droid from Shadow of Revan were very amusing. If you're looking for ideas for another companion, I'd love to have them (as a sort of single/joint companion). Especially if there's a line of dialogue/missions connected with them, too. Those guys were very funny, especially the droid.
  20. That's a good point about Jaesa. Makes me wonder if they'd choose to do something story-wise where Jaesa ends up being the same no matter whether you had her as light or dark. Like, a backstory where light Jaesa went through some experience which nudged her toward the dark side, vice versa for dark Jaesa, so that no matter how she was when you left her, she's a sort of grey Jaesa when you get her again. All that'd really need to be changed is the dialogue, same as the difference whether you'd romanced her or not. She did start off as the same person, after all. It's plausible that she could take two divergent roads which lead her, eventually, to the same place. That has some interesting story potential.
  21. I share your concerns. I also am a story player who doesn't care much about gearing, so while I would like answers re: the gearing system as well, my greater concern has to do with companions. Giving players a choice on killing them is great. Having them die (or cheat on/move on from our characters in the case of romance options) without it being our choice is absolutely not okay. My concerns in this regard are also heightened by the whole Torian/Vette thing.
  22. No, I said that because they were bad analogies.
  23. And BW is in no way accountable for *their* actions? This is especially uncool when you consider that the instant they discover a bug that gives players who discover it some advantage, they immediately shut the servers down to fix it. Bugs that have negative effects on the players' gaming experience, however, they allow to linger for months or years. BW refuses to be accountable for those bugs. Even when/if they get around to fixing it, what recompense do they make for all of us whose gameplay (a service we pay actual money for) was harmed by those bugs? Nothing. Yet someone briefly 'exploits' a bug? Hammered. And you speak of players deserving to suffer consequences. SMH.
  24. Not the same logic at all. There are laws about driving, laws which are separate from the relationship between car seller and car buyer. You guys really are not good at analogies.
  25. Those people do not pay me to throw parties in my house. Your analogy is inaccurate.
