  1. LoL... is it connected through your phone line or do you have nbn
  2. Wow... you are lucky... I hadn’t had 170ms for over 2 years... I just assumed as the ping increased over the last few years to 220ms... that it was the crappy US internet... What was your ISP again?
  3. 😳... really... you get that speed on iinet??? Is it adsl or fibre?
  4. This is exactly right... and people shouldn’t need to come to the forums or a third party site to find out they need to turn it on... I disagree with it being off by default... but even if they “need” to leave it on 🙄 ... how about a pop up or tutorial to tell new players or new character rerolls that they can turn it on... how hard is it to do a small pop-up? I know just how some of the previous posters feel... as someone who has mainly pvp’d since 3.0 (because I’d done everything 20 times)... I decided to only lvl up in pvp... when I went to roll a few knew toons about 12 months ago to play with a friend trying out Swtor for the first time... I was shocked to see those vanilla missions gone... I was really pissed off because I’d been telling her about a few I really liked and she was excited to try them... I’m sure... like many others... we just assumed Bioware had removed the missions entirely because you can’t even interact with those mission NPCs if you don’t have them turn on... Sadly my friend didn’t stay because the game wasn’t immersive enough without those planetary story arcs... (well done Bioware... how many others left without even knowing those missions were there) It wasn’t till I complained on the forums about them being removed from the game, that I found out they were now an option that you needed to turn on within your map screen... I felt completely foolish at first... but the more I thought about the less stupid I felt and realised I wasn’t the stupid one here... it was the fool who decided it was a good idea to turn them off by default and the fools who approved it...
  5. Yes, I believe FF was brought up in the discussion I saw in the game...
  6. Owen, it does appear on two ISPs with different routes and to different IPs... I tested a Telstra connection and except for the first two hops... it’s routed “exactly” the same as you... AS6461 RoadRunner Zayo I just don’t understand why you don’t see the spikes or the increased ping on the last Hop even with the same routing... just about everyone I speak to has this problem... I also don’t know how it’s physically possible for you to get 208 -220ms from Australia??
  7. I’d pay and extra $15 a month ontop of my sub if I could get 100ms
  8. Imagine how great this game would be if it was run by Blizzard 🤩
  9. WoW is Blizzards Diamond mine game and what it’s known for.... the same as FF is Square Enix Diamond mine game... Where as Swtor is just a golden egg and the goose was put into a crappy little cage and wasn’t allowed to be free range... now the goose is nearly dead from them trying to force it to crap out eggs and those eggs keep becoming inferior each time... now they’re just feeding the goose scraps and they’ve moved it to an even smaller cage till it dies
  10. EA just got a bunch of fan servers shut down for old games like battlefield one... etc... Maybe they can learn something from this move of Blizzards... It’s one thing I’ve always liked about Blizzard Warcraft ... they aren’t shy about trying something different that others haven’t done before... in many ways they lead the pack and the others follow or copy
  11. The only thing I think would be acceptable to add to the classic version would be any quality of life things and bug fixes that may be needed... anything else would ruin the “classic” vanilla feel.
  12. My self and others have been giving them technical feed back so they can fix the problem... I’ve back and forth with Keith twice and I’ll be sending him some more data tomorrow... Owen, our resident tech guru from OZ is also providing data to Keith... From what I can tell on my end, it sure looks like it’s their end... specifically the last Hop on their internal network to the server... it seems to be having continuous spikes.. about 5-8 a minute... On top of that... the ping on that last Hop is 30-40ms higher than the previous Hop on their internal network... But... Owen says he isn’t seeing these issues and actually has a very good ping from OZ... which I don’t understand because it’s about 80ms better than mine after he hits the US and we both follow the same route to the servers (through the same US ISPs that Bio are using)... I’m not disbelieving of Owen... but he is the only Aussie I know that can get speeds like that to the server and also not see any lag spike problems on the swtor servers that just about everyone I know... both Aussie and US players can see.
  13. Wait, are Blizzard themselves releasing legacy servers?
  14. Agreed... it saddens me to know how true that statement is... I guess some people at EAware have never heard the saying... “you need to spend money to make money”
  15. It won’t be long now ... lets get the lovefest happening 😍
  16. Keith PM’d me and has asked me to trace and ping these... which I’ll do once I’ve got my office all connected up again (had the carpets cleaned... had to remove everything from the office and undo all the cabling) I did a quick test using ping plotter and net analyser on my iPad... and 159.153.69.5 doesn’t work... The others are in Ireland... I’m not sure why he wants those from the APAC
  17. I wanted to do a like for like test at the same time as yesterday to see if there has been any changes and I’m happy to report there has been a small shift in the right direction... but still a big problem with the last ip and it still needs work 4.79.23.202. - 268ms 159.153.92.10 - 270ms 159.153.92.86 - 269ms 159.153.92.220 - 297ms There is still something happening on that last Hop that isn’t good... it still has about 30ms higher ping and it still has regular ping spikes
  18. Not only that... but now we are getting outright lied to
  19. Now this thread has reached a certain point... let me put some context to my OP... this was not my idea in any shape or form... This was a topic that has come up in discussions a few times in this game over the years... not on the forums (that I’ve seen)... but in the game while talking to people... Each time it has come up, it had been because of forced moves or population migration changes... ie... when part of the pvp population has received an unfair disadvantage through no choice of their own or a limited choice... The first time was when APAC servers were closed and merged with the west coast... The second time was when a majority of east Coast pvpers moved to the west coast to play pvp because the east coast ones died off... Yes... I know it’s ironic... Everytime this discussion has come up I’ve sat on the side lines and watched the discussion and the hypocrisy of some people... Just before I posted this thread... this topic was being discussed again in the game by a few people and the hypocrisy was worse than ever... its why I posted it because there was just as much hypocrisy on this forum from some east coast players and people who like to put others down... and APAC and west coast players should just suck it up or leave game because that’s their choice 🙄 There were people from the east coast in matches who had been telling APAC and West Coast people how they sucked at pvp... and when we pointed out it was because of the lag we were told to “get gud” or “just unsub you scrub”... Then someone threw this idea in their face and the rage and hypocrisy flowed like a freshly opened vein to the darkside... about how unfair that would be to east coast pvpers... These were some of the same people griefing and trolling APAC players in pvp and even some here on the forums... So do I agree with the idea? That’s probably to complicated for me to answer correctly or fully or with enough clarity of position to stop people questioning my reasons or motives... so I’ll just post a few random thoughts I have about it... Do I think it would work in swtor now... no... it would drive more people away than it would help... If something like this has been included in the game at launch and people couldn’t see it... would it have worked... probably... it’s been done over the years in a few games (don’t ask me which because I can’t actually remember)... Do I think it would be fair for east coast players... that’s also hard for me to say yes or no because in an ideal world there wouldn’t be any lag or ping difference between any players... (I say ideal because it’s not realistic)... Do I think it’s unfair that APAC and West Coast players have had any choice taken away from them... but east coast players still have a choice... damn right it’s unfair... !! Would this help APAC pvpers or west coast pvpers?... it actually would help in reducing the massive gap between the haves and the have nots... the gap could be reduced by as much as a third in some cases... Do I think it’s feasible... nope
  20. That’s actually a really good idea... it’s a shame Bioware would be just as unlikely to do that as they would add artificial throttling or actual match making to the game... And I do actually think your idea is good and I’ve actually seen other games do or attempt to do similar things... .
  21. I had to add your signature for this post because as you pointed out - The IP is the most regonised and popular on the planet... And yet... They have just removed the option for the most populous region on the planet to play the game in any significant way... 60% of the worlds popoulation is in APAC and it dwarfs the US by comparison...
