  1. You obviously are not looking hard enough for talented people who can write and act. I am not advocating people outright lose their jobs, quite the opposite, I am saying let more people in. I form my own opinions on everything I watch and talk about. I purposefully avoid anyone I subscribe to on YouTube that talk about a show I intend to watch and form my own (adult) opinion. I have not said anything about Bio-Ware Dev's. So, no, you're quite wrong about me and how I come to my conclusions. At 49 years old, I would like to think I am pretty knowledgeable on good story telling, well rounded characters, well written characters and stories. And a lot of what is being put out now a days is mid at best in terms of storytelling, world building and character development. You, however sound like you do get your opinions from YouTubers and the like. Also, I don't know what Wattpad is.
  2. Psh Writers and actors strike. 🙄 At this point, break both of those unions and make room for new blood and people with actual talent. There more people that can act 1000 times better than just about everyone in hollywood. And anyone having seen anything coming out of the writers Guild in the past 5+ years, closer to 10 has been mediocre AT BEST and atrocious at worst. I can count on my fingers how many great movies and or shows in the last decade in terms of writing. (Disney+ anyone? Velma, Ghostbuster 2016, the new TMNT, just off the top of my head, all hot garbage) I say break the unions and give em all the finger. As far as Malgus? Meh. They have made him a star for way too long. Maybe migrate Cayde-6 into SWTOR universe?
  3. So, the price of eggs went up nearly 300% IRL because demand went up 300%? Or could something else have caused that? Thats why you're right and wrong.
  4. Listen man, I'm not trying to be mean, but I have a hard time understanding what it is you're trying to say. English may not be your native language, which is fine, like I said, I'm not trying to be mean. But, I'm also not understanding a lot of what you're saying. So, sorry, I am not going to try and understand all this and likely get half of what you're saying wrong.
  5. *Kicks open the door, strolls in...grabs Mic* What a few of them said... And Ultima Online is still up and running strong. *Drops Mic and slowly walks out*
  6. No crashes here at all. (Then again, I keep my drivers up to date, often run a stress test for video so im getting 120fps at all max settings.) No random disconnects. (Then again I know how to use my routers interface, forward and open ports needed for specific things) My rig: Gigabyte X470 Aorus Ultra Gaming-CF AM3 MB Ryzen 5 2600x 32 GB DDR4 1066ghz Ram Radeon RX 570 8gb 1tb SSD (Main) 500gb SSD (Slave) 8TB Internal 8TB External Again, no crashes, no disconnects, no issues at all. This is not an EA problem, its a you problem. (to everyone complaining its EA). You need to run some tests and diagnostics on your end. If your not on an SSD run a Defrag and Health check on your drive. Get the ports SWTOR uses and open them on your firewall and router (and make sure they point to your PCs internal network IP address. Update your drivers. Check your bios is configured properly for your components. Update your bios if needed. Run MemCheck (google it) could be a stick of ram is bad (for game crashes) I cant say for sure where the issue is at, since I do not have access to your PC, but it could be anything, even a failing component. Like I said, I run at max all settings (except grass and trees, yuk) and have had not issues. This alone proves its not EA's fault. Im sorry to say, this is a you problem. Also I am disabled and am able to play for hours and hours.
  7. I have not read the entire thread. I am saying this because I have a unique way of looking at this and some people may have posted one or more points I am about to make. My SWTOR History (This is long, but I promise it makes sense and adds to my point.) When I first started playing back before 2012, I came in thinking I would do solo content, enjoy my time and not join a guild at all or do Raids (OP's). After a few months and having done no research on rotations and trying to balance defense/offense on a dps char, I actually was sitting on fleet and bored. Someone kept asking for a dps for DP. I finally sent a message and joined. As soon as I was in the group, I let all of them know, this was my very first OP, ever. I also let them know I had done no outside research and learned all my skills on my own and geared how I felt it should go. I got a LOT of advise, the group had all decided carrying me would be fine and I was open to and even asked for advise on gear and skills (Assassin). I listened intently to all the advise given, bookmarked all websites that gave me more information on gear and learned rotations. The leader was very patient and used markers to explain every fight and gave me as little real responsibility as possible. This was my very first OP and I was noob/solo. Having told the entire OP as soon as I joined how new I actually was, really helped. It let them know my skill level, that I was honest, that I wanted to learn and was open to any and all advise. I even went so far as to ask most advise geared towards the OP to be said in OP's chat just in case I didn't understand, I could say so in case someone didn't explain something properly or in a way I could understand and someone else could try. And if I had questions, they could all see them and answer. After that OP, I really had a good time and went to those web pages to learn what I was actually playing. I then started joining more and more OP's and learned all sm content so I could do it as second nature and then start helping others. After joining a guild, I started with 8m HM OP's. And once I learned all of them, I started leading sm OP's both with guild and PUG's. This is how I would approach OP's I lead. I would always ask if everyone knew the OP I would always ask if everyone knew their class If someone did not know the OP, depending on gear (and if they knew their class) I would then decide if we could teach the OP as we went. If they were under-geared AND did not know the OP AND we could not carry them, I would politely let them know and point them to resources if they wanted them. If we could carry them, I would assign someone TO that person who was running (or had run) that class in the OP we were doing. I would also explain in detail (I had a notepad file explaining every fight so I could copy paste instructions). Anyone who just could not follow instructions, I would ask the OP group if we should continue with this person (This was before GF for OP's) I asked the OP group to make a decision based on a /kick and I myself would not vote. If the person got angry after explaining why we had to remove them, it was an immediate kick. I understand this has been long, but I promise you, I have a point. I had to quit in 2016/2017 after being diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer. I am 100% cancer free now. When I was able to return (Summer 2021), I was starting all over in terms of knowledge of OP's, after all I had been gone 5 years and played mostly PS4 from bed, so knowledge was overwritten. When I came back I had the same approach to OP's as my newbie self I mentioned earlier, only explained I knew my class (now lightning sorc), just was very rusty on mechanics on OP's I had done and on OP's I never did, I also let them know. I however, will never lead OP's (I was an OP leader in my guild before being forced to quit). At this point, as just a member of an OP group I am fine just following orders/helping when needed. But, I do not at all have the patients for leading and teaching in every OP I do. Also when joining a guild as mine was long gone, I made it clear I do not want to be an officer unless it was just for running purely guild OP's. I still do not mind taking our time in PUG OP's to teach people or carry people. However I am now a lot less forgiving when it comes to someone who just cant learn or are so far under-leveled/geared that its holding back the group by an insane amount of time. And I will not hesitate to ask for a kick of the person holding us back (and if its me because I am holding the group back due to OP mechanics, I will ask the OP if they want me to bow out as I don't want to hold everyone back). PUG's are generally not "elitist" and will in most situations be willing to teach and or carry people. That is so long as the person is up front about their abilities and or gear and knowledge. Yes, there will be elitist people who will just no speak drop after 1 wipe, to me that's no big loss, especially with group finder. Most people who can be honest with themselves will know when they are the issue. So long as you talk to them and let them know and not just kick them without saying a word to them, most will understand. They may be upset or have their ego hurt, but most take it very well. That's not to say there are not people that will explode when told they have to be replaced due to gear/knowledge/level. These people will ALL ALWAYS exist. But I have found communication to be the biggest part in keeping the peace. This is my 2 cents. While I used to love responsibility and teaching, I do not have the patients for it anymore. Heck I will not even get involved with guild fights or if someone not in the guild has a problem with a guild member; And will outright tell them, send a message to Soandso, they're an officer/guildmaster/etc and that I cant help them and wont get involved. Maybe this helped, maybe it did'nt. I sincerely hope it did.
  8. This "vast majority of players hate the new changes"....By looking at the forums and everyone who has posted that they "hate the new changes", guess what? This enormous majority people are peaking of? Is only 100 players, 200 would be an extreme, extremely unlikely amount. Since when is even 200 players of tens of thousands people playing even close to "a vast majority"? That's barely a drop in the bucket of the entire player base. Sorry to say, but you're not at all even close to a majority. Not by a long shot. All I see is some people starting multiple threads and the same 100ish people parroting what they already said. This is absolutely sad that the people predicting and saying "everyone hates it", when this is not remotely true in the slightest, not even in the same solar system to be close to all people playing. What I see here is.... A bunch of people whining that their "easy mode" is going to be nerfed. Complaints about losing skills they really really want, but are not required for that class. Complaints about Conquest doubling. Really? I make 100k just doing the 5 very fp. Now raiding will actually mean something again, so no more easy mode to get 306 gear specifically from flashpoints. And don't get me started on Operations....when I was forced to leave nearly 5 years ago (been back since like June 2021; people would solicit doing hm ops on fleet. All I see people doing now is sm ops. And multiple times I have tried to get a TC group to do hm, directly after doing sm. I can never get the people because no one really wants or needs to do hm ops. And TC is likely the easiest if you JUST DID sm. Exit, OPs leader sets it to hm and run back in. And its nearly identical. So at most what I see vet players doing now is TC sm, 5 vet FP, 3 hm FP and then they are gone. This is all more about people having to do more work, rather than sit on "easy mode" forever. I myself am looking forward to the changes as are a multitude of others, people complaining may think they are the majority, but I got news for these people.....You're not even a small fraction of a fraction of a fraction of an even smaller fraction of the entire player-base. Even if the player-base was only 20k, which we all know its much much higher. Also, there is a suggestion board where this kind of stuff belongs. So to echo my older post reply, to me, this is all about attention seeking and getting other players in a circle to agree and sniff each others farts. TL:DR : You're not the majority, you're losing easy mode and each character will now have to work for their weekly conquest points. And you will have to raid, likely at minimum sm, but more likely hm to get the top gear. It wont just be handed out through TC and Hammer Station. Also, these posts absolutely yell attention seekers, since these suggestions are never posted in the correct forum for suggestions. That forum and PTS forum are there specifically FOR this kind of post. Stop attention seeking and trying to act like you're the majority when it is plainly obvious you're not even close to the majority. Not by a long shot.
  9. But, the issue is, he/she is specifically addressing the Devs. If you want the Devs to see what you're saying about PTS, they should post in the PTS forum. It would be completely moot if they were addressing other players, but they're not. That is what makes me think its about attention, posting to the devs about the PTS, but in general and not PTS forum. If that makes any sense. Like I said, not meaning to offend anyone, just an observation. If you want to post to the other players, cool, be up front about it. This seems more like a way to 'say' its to the devs, but is actually pointed directly at other players. IDK maybe I am just reading too much in to it. Like I said, just an observation, not an attack or meant to offend.
  10. When I see posts like this, I cannot help but feel its for attention. Why? Because there is a board for the PTS. But, posting in General will get more eyes of the player base (same amount or less of the Devs). So, it just screams, "Look at me! Listen to me! Agree with me!". Why would you post this here instead of the PTS forum? To, me, its just as simple as attention seeking. Unless there is another reason to post in general chat, that I do not know about, its all about attention seeking from a wider player base. Because the majority of posters, in general do not read the PTS forum. So, it cant be for the "Devs", its for attention and for the wider player base and not really for the Dev team. Or else you would have posted this where it belongs, the PTS forum. Or at least thats the way it comes off to me. No offense intended here, just an observation.
  11. Beautiful. Just, 100% beautiful. Having 20 years on me, you put in to more detail what I was thinking and with more IRL baked in.
  12. You believe that the PTS is the only server they have for testing new builds? Thats adorable. Why do you think they call it "Public Test Server"? Hint: its in the name....'Public'. And you dont believe they have a "Private" Test Server? You know, to make sure builds work before pushing them to PTS? Like testing UI didnt get broken, its dont crash on boot, etc? Come on.
  13. OP.... Allow me to introduce you to your exact same thread.... Also, I am sure you have done the right thing, that youre supposed to do about a situation like this one, take a screenshot? Would you be so kind as to share these screenshots so we can all know whats being said? You should have the screenshots, if youre trying to do good, I see no reason why you would come here to complain without putting in the minimal effort of "Print Screen". Will you share them? Coincidentally, I made a post addressing what you said here in my post on the thread linked above. I mean I literally addressed exactly what you said. You may want to read it. People need to learn to ignore words, text, sentences that they do not agree with. No need for /ignore Legacy, if you do not let it bother you. Remember sticks and stones? Why does everyone have such thin skin now a days? Or, is it that youre an authoritarian and believe anyone who does not agree with you should be 'exiled'? If someone says racist stufff to me, you know what I do? Ignore it. And then I go on with my life. Why does anyone care what anyone has to say about these ism\ist\phobes? Why on earth are you letting yourself get worked up and have it alter your mood in a negative way? These are people you do not know, on the internet. Why cant people just roll their eyes and move on? Or just ignore outright? Or report them? Why are you people giving these people you do not even like, the power to control your emotions and life? That is so foreign, alien, and baffling to me. No one has the control or power to effect my mood, emotions, life, etc without my permission. I, for the life of me cannot understand this. This is not a difficult problem. Mental fortitude or ignore. Is that so hard?
