  1. Under those circumstances, art would still be pretty useless because people would just insert the cheapest high level crystal rather then going for the very best ones. Which is where the money is made. Secondly having a slot bonus instead of a crystal bonus hinders customization. For example im a marauder, if my socket bonus was endurance instead of crit, i'd be pretty bummed. Lastly adding additional crystals past what they have now with out adding new levels would swamp the higher level. All MMO's ive ever played go by this rule. It seems to work with no problems.
  2. Hey everyone! ive just started playing the game and im finding mostly everything to be really smooth. though one thing that i think could really use some improvement or the Galactic Trade Kiosk, whichever floats your boat. 1.) Slot specification/sub category. - This would be the biggest improvement to it in my books. examples are "chest" where it would only display items that are used in your chest slot. 2.) Name search - while this is already present, it could be greatly improved on. be able to link or shift + click an item into the text bar would be greatly helpful. If i have several items i'm selling and i'm unsure of the price. Manually typing them all in for price checks is fairly time consuming. Additionally, i would really really realllllllllly appreciate if i could ALWAYS use the name search option. Sometimes i't "grayed out" or innactive/unusable. (perhaps a more experienced SWTOR player could elaborate as to why) but if i'm going to the GTK strictly to search for "Jedi lightsaber of epicness" i really don't want to have to go through all the sub categories when i could simply type in the item i'm wanting. 3.) make it an auction house! make bids available! buy outs are indeed the most common/prefered way to sell and purchase items. But there are several instances where players may prefer a bidding over a outright buyout.
  3. whats the determining factor as to who wins a warzone with a tied score?
  4. I had this same issue last night on my Sith Marauder. It kept telling me everything was on cool down every time i tried to use it. even buffs and CD's
  5. Are their any benefits to getting MVP votes in war zones? and why does no one ever vote?
  6. The decisions you make affect your characters story. Skipping them would cause you to make ill decisions. Though i must say, while i never skip them, it seems only reasonable to enable players who have no interest in them to skio them. Though i think space bar is definitely adequate.
  7. Often times these changes aren't so simple to make with out risking distrubing the entire game in the process. Minor tweaks can have big problems if they aren't planned out and implemented correctly. It's better to get it right then to risk having it interfere with other aspects of the game. Bioware is a business, a successful one at that. And as such they value us as customers. They're not blindly ignoring our wants. But you need to remember you're not the only person playing this game, and bioware doesn't have unlimited man power and resources. This game hasn't been out long and it has quite a few tweaks that need to be made. their hands are full no doubt. I wouldn't say it's bioware not listening, it's just they need to make choices that affect the majority positively with the time and resources they do have.
  8. Was wondering if there are any plans for more specific PvP/War Zone brackets. My server (Fatman) appears to be really really inbalanced as far as factions. My record is a 7% win 93% loss. Though to be fair i havent done a massive amount of Warzones, only 15. So it is possible that i just had an extremely bad luck / losing streak. In any event though, even with scaling. Does a level 10 stand a chance against a level 30? I would really love to see brackets where everyone is within 5 levels of each other, or at least 10.
  9. Generally speaking for armor and weapons Need before greed means just that. Need - This item is an upgrade for my MAIN SPEC comparing to what i currently am using. Greed for everything else. For vanity things (not sure how many are in the game) everyone would select need. If you would like an item very much for whatever reason, but it's not an upgrade, generally you'd want to consult with the group before selecting need. Just aks them anf 9 times out of 10 unless someone else needs it too they'll agree to let you have it. For master looter it's obviously up the the discretion of the loot master, but usually loot masters will operate under 1 of 3 main loot streams. 1. Need Before greed. Essentially the same as above. But this ensures that anyone rolling actually does "need" the item. If the person rolling doesnt actually need it, the master looter can veto it and direct the loot accordingly, this is the most common master loot in low-mid level skill game play 2. For high end game play. like nightmare guild runs and such, Master loot will often be handled by loot council. Usually high ranking guild members will decide where the item will ebenefit the group as a whole the most. They use several factors such as Attendance, Performance, and largest upgrade as the main factors. 3. Round Robin. In this scenario lets say there is a group of 4 people and 1 person wins an item. The master looter would not loot anythng else to that person until the other 3 have won something. this is a "share the wealth" system that ensures that one person doesnt just get lucky and walk out with all the upgrades leaving the other empty handed and disastisfied. All these loot systems have their benefits, flaws, and controversies. There is no perfect loot system. so its up to you to decide what you consider the best. Just keep in mind that there is a unwritten law of using greed on items that aren't an upgrade to you main spec.
  10. I bought a ASUS CM1630 from bestbuy. It costed me about 450 bucks and came with a monitor and a printer. The graphics card on it is total crap. so i bought a 50 dollar card today (GE force 9600) and now i can run everything on high, and i run other MMOs like WoW and Rift on the highest possible settings with 60+ FPS.
  11. So i just purchased the game and it seems really really choppy to me. I didn't think i'd have any troubles running it as i run other MMO's, movies and game in pretty high settings successfully like Rift, WoW, SC2, etc etc. i tried turning down my settings as low as they could possibly go and turned off all other programs but the game seems really choppy still. Decided perhaps i should just upgrade my computer a bit, but im really clueless when it comes to computers and specs and stuff. so i figured i'd get some advice/help from my fellow gamers! What would the best route for upgrading my computer? These are my specs. If at all possibly i'd like to keep it within a 200-500 dollar budget. ------------------ System Information ------------------ Time of this report: 4/8/2011, 22:15:49 Machine name: SEAN-PC Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7600) (7600.win7_gdr.100618-1621) Language: English (Regional Setting: English) System Manufacturer: ASUSTeK Computer INC.
