  1. Honestly OP if your name is so important to your identity, you should try coming up with more original names. I didn't start playing SWTOR until 3 or 4 months after launch and none of the names I wanted were taken on any server I played on. I would love to see William Shatner reading the OP. Just imagine it: My.. i-DENTITY... is all I HAVE...... if I loose it.... I HAVE no-THING. Oh nos!
  2. This is not true. Members of the same faction can attack each other in Outlaw's Den. Just not members of the same group.
  3. It's a foundation for micro-transactions. A few months from now when they offer to unlock something for $1.00 instead of 3,000,000 credits, they are hoping you will feel thankful instead of insulted.

  7. The only shortfall in the legacy system is that they continue to spend any valuable developer resources on it at all. A UI that allows you to move around portraits of your character and draw lines between them? That has no bearing on the game? That doesn't change the story or quests at all? That no one can see but you? And you want them to use more developer resources to add more functionality to it? Grab a pen and paper and draw all the circles and lines you want. It would have the same net result. As for the legacy "rewards", other than the ship vendor to buy the crew skill buff for your ship droid, there's nothing in it of any value. And there are no real rewards in it. It is a massive credit sink that looks to me to be nothing more than a thinly veiled foundation for eventual micro-transactions. I love this game. But, I strongly believe SWTOR would be better served if the developer resources spent on legacy were used elsewhere.
  8. They are already setting up for an easy move to micro-transactions and a free-to-play model before your very eyes. The Birthright, Inheritance and Legacy unlocks are all setup for an easy move to micro-transactions. All highly expensive or extremely time consuming items, that would be much more easily gained by a small purchase. Think about it. Who in their right mind would spend 200 daily commendations on an Inheritance item? But then again, who might spend say $0.50 to get the same item instantly? It is obvious from the extreme prices of Legacy, Birthright and Inheritance and how they are set up that all of this is the foundation for an easy move to micro-transactions. I am not saying they will definitely go there. But they are definitely creating the foundation for it, right before our eyes. Its amazing how few of the player base see it.
  9. It was extremely odd choice to transfer servers to The Fatman first. I mean, it's obvious that they would need more than one PvP server. So why wouldn't they establish the additional PvP servers first? Everyone was surprised that anyone got transfered to The Fatman when this started. Why wouldn't they have started off all transfers to Prophecy of Five to begin with. This wouldn't have shocked anyone a few days ago. Then move some of the remainders over to The Fatman as things began to even out. Or if they needed three, to a third server. The Fatman should have been the last to get on the list. Just basic human psychology should have made this obvious. Instead of SURPRISE, we are transfering people to The Fatman and then SURPRISE we are going to revive a dead server, if they would have started with Prophecy of Five, few would have been concerned. Just a really puzzling set of choices there. Being on Jung Ma, I'm not even effected by any of this and I am still boggled.

  11. Hard to say which is the lesser of two evils. Transfer across RP-PvP / PvP servers or across west/east coast servers. Personally I think dead PvP servers to larger populated RP-PvP servers is a no brainer, since there is zero difference between the two server types except the "RP-" in the tag name. But people on PvP servers really seem to be bothered by those three simple characters. Either way. I hope they pick one or the other. And not settle for doing nothing at all.
  12. Possible you could take your negativity to another thread please? Everyone here wants the same thing in the end. A healthy server population. Everyone here is hoping Bioware will revise their "respect server type" policy for RP-PvP servers or do something like combine Ajunta Pall and Jung Ma or what ever else idea someone can come up with in order to enjoy the game in a nicely populated server. Everything else is just arguing, for arguments sake.

  14. Jung Ma is really in the same boat. Even with the Ven Zallow transfers, I'd be surprised if there is much difference in population. Hopefully they come up with a solution.
  15. Personally, I would welcome the different play times. It keeps server population higher over a longer period of time. Rather than just one peak time. As for #2, Bioware would have to give the official word on that. But for a game with timed abilities and a 1.5 second global cool down, I doubt latency is an issue. We have a bunch of west coasters in our guild in Jung Ma and they've never had a problem. But you are right in the end. Probably won't happen
  16. I haven't seen them say anywhere that timezone will be kept. I too would love to see a Ajunta Pall and Jung Ma transfer (to/from doesn't matter). These two populations really need to be put together. The last stand of the RP-PvP server!

  18. Only the same naming conventions that are enforced on all server types. There is no special naming rules or enforcement on RP servers.

  20. I sincerely respect your opinion. But, I'm curious as to why it would bother you? Other than the three extra characters "RP-" in the server type name to let RPers know they are likely to find other RPers on the server, there are zero differences between a RP-PvP server and a PvP server. In fact from my experience, the only real difference is a positive one - you are much more likely to find player created world events on an RP-PvP server (which is why I joined one, I'm not an RPer).   21. So Ajunta Pall and Jung Ma are both in the top ten list for server population. However, they need an influx of new players to remain healthy. And they are certainly going to be completely out-classed as other servers grow ever larger from the transfers. Unfortunately, Bioware so far has stated that server type will be honored, leaving the RP-PvP servers out of luck. So my question is, would anyone on a dead/dieing PvP server care if their destination was an RP-PvP server? If the population is healthy, WZ queue times are quick and flashpoints/operations are easy to come by? There is no difference between a PvP and RP-PvP server other than the three extra characters in the server type. There is no RP enforcement of any kind, including names. Are there any real issues on moving from an PvP server to a RP-PvP server that I am missing?
  22. Unfortunately that solution doesn't get us anywhere. There is already only one west RP-PvP, Ajunta Pal, and they need an influx of players badly to remain healthy. Jung Ma is in the same boat and even merging it with Ven Zallow won't solve the problem, as Ven Zallow's population is unfortunately just too small. At this point, it just doesn't look like there is a big enough population to support even one RP-PvP server. Since Ajunta Pal and Jung Ma are in the top ten list for server population, hopefully they will become destinations for other less populated PvP servers. Looking at all the options on the table at this point, that's really the best we can hope for I think. Would many PvP players care that their destination server is an RP-PvP server? If it has a healthy population and rapid WZ queue times? Since there is no RP enforcement of any kind, including character name, not sure what the negative would be, other than a few new letters on their server type.
  23. Ajunta Pall isn't dead. It still hits standard during peak times. But I agree, its not everything I was hoping for, but then again, it would be better than nothing, woulnd't it?
  24. I sincerely hope this is true. Ajunta Pall + Jung Ma (+ poor Ven Zallow) would hopefully be a pretty healthy community.
