  1. I'm the only one feeling the SWTOR love? Really?
  2. You sir, and the kind of raider that I respect. It would be an honor to be in a guild that you run, or in a raid that you host. You carry yourself ,in a manner, that I wish more gamers had. You are what makes raiding a truly epic experience for all, and I'm so glad to see someone like you here in this game.
  3. ...about this game. ^_^ Ok so I've been playing for, well, ok it's been two days, but I will confess that this MMO has grabbed me like no other. I can't wait to see, what the devs have in store, for the future of this game. So here is a humble list of the things I love...so far: - This game looks fantastic! Even with shadows and AA off it still has a high polish look to it. - The voice acting is great! Just enough emotion without any overacting. Characters are played well, and even my own characters, have an endearing voice that I can get attached to. - Combat is fun! However it's taking me a while to get use to 'no autoattack'...it's keeping me on my toes in encounters. @_@ - Questing is fun, and interesting, so far. I can't wait to see how all the story lines develop and grow, and how my characters actions affect it's outcome. - The Dark/Light choices. I love these, and I love how they are not always so obvious. They make you think about what you really want to do. It's compelling, and well done. - I love the classic theme when you begin a new class. it reminds me of when I was a little girl and a saw the movies on TV for the first time. I'll always love that theme. Their is so much more I could list....but I think I'll save it up for when I'm further along. What do you guys love about the game? Let me know! ^_^
  4. That's actually quite true. Professional raiders and gamers don't spam Recount logs, and throw hissy fits over .02 less DPS. They are already on top of the game, and use the meters and logs as tools for improvement. It's the 'wannabees' that cause the most social strife, when meters are introduced. (I'll just be content to find a circle of folks who don't play the game in a super-stressed sate of mind, who don't use tools as a crutch, and who appreciate the art and beauty of this game. Let the meters come...it won't matter when I play with my friends. ^_^)
  5. I do hope that after this is implemented, we can hope to see a 'Looking for Flashpoint' and 'Looking for Raid' random group finders in the near future. That would be cool.
  6. This is an easy solve really. Just have all raids, and all content (all of it), on the three difficulty levels, with matching loot with stats that reflect that levels difficulty. There...problem solved.
  7. Like I said, I think it will be a good way for people to filter out the folks that they want to associate with. Believe it or not, players that don't play with mods, or play in high stress progression raid guilds, do find one other, and find like minded folks to play with. Social Guilds, RP Guilds, and even just 'Whatever' Guilds, all take part is some, if not all, of the games content. They just do it at their own pace, and their own way. This will give us the tools, to see who, we want to play the game with.
  8. I'll be happy when they come. Not that I'll be using them in any way, but they will allow me to choose who I group with, and whom I choose to place on ignore. Believe me the second that I see someone barking out orders, and insults, based on a Recount log from a trash pull, in a level normal mode 20 PUG....then I'll know who to avoid. I will simply seek out other players, and guilds, who share my views, and choose to not play in such a harsh competitive way. Also just FYI on this, but thanks to years and years of combat logs World of Warcraft is almost completely streamlined and 'mistake free'. You don't need any logs at all in order to play the game 'well', and when MOP comes out it will be simplified to the point where their will be no such thing as a 'bad build'. (Also as far as community goes, in WOW, spamming Recount in randoms, and using it as a level of judgement is laughed upon, and generally thought to be in extremely bad taste. After 7 years of meters, most people just don't care anymore.) If anything, this game will get easier to play.
  9. No one is scared. Like I said, I hope that these meters come quickly. The sooner they arrive, the sooner we can determine who we really want to group with. I may (or may not) use a meter to improve myself, but I would not, and will not, group with those who choose to use them as a means to belittle others, and as a way to separate, label, and judge harshly those around them. It's a tool, not a weapon. We've forgotten about that.
  10. I don't think I'll mind to much, if and when it comes. Frankly it will make it easier for me to choose the people that I want to play the game with. I will be able to dissociate with those that, by their own choice, choose not to treat this as a simple and pleasurable diversion from everyday life. Don't worry guy there will, and always will be, people that do not play the numbers game, and those people have been playing PC games for years. Others can, and do call us 'bads' with little or no provocation, but like water off a ducks back it goes somewhat unnoticed....well that's my take on it, a highly personal one at that. The game will go on, players will group up, and people will find like minded folks, and all will have fun. Also trust that the developers will appease both sides, it can be done, and done well, their are games out there that prove that beyond a shadow of a doubt. Let the meters come, let the combat logs flow like rain...it won't matter to me at all. let's get this over with, the sooner, the better. Play your game, and I'll play mine.
  11. I'm not worried about it really. It's a natural evolution, and it will eventually lead to a balance of those who choose to use them, and those who choose not to. Also if SWTOR is in this for the long haul, and I hope this game lasts for decades, they may eventually integrate those mods into the game structure itself. *shrug* Only time will tell. I guess I've played MMOs for such a long time that I'm rather zen about this now. If the addons come I will simply choose my path, my usage, and my need of them.....and I will carefully choose the people that I associate with as well. That's all there is to it...for me at least.
  12. Having rampant Alt-itus, really helps, with the maxlevel blues. I've just begun my adventures in this game, but I'm going to take it as slow as I possibly can.
  13. Thanks so much for the warm welcome! ^_^ I'm having a great time checking out all the classes, and races. It's going to be so hard to decide on a main! I'm getting the alt-itus twitch as we speak. *twitch, makes more alts, twitch* The voice acting is stellar, the graphics are fantastic, and I can play with my life long friend...someone whom I've introduced to MMOs, but never found 'the' MMO for her, until this game. So far, so good.
  14. I had a bit of trouble starting it up but...I finally got it to work! This game is fantastic! I'm having so much fun! ^_^ Oh and FYI to anyone with a Radeon 4870X2...my 10.9 drivers work just fine. The game looks completely stellar with most textures on med to low. Super job Bioware! I'm hooked!
  15. I haven't updated my drivers in ages.....yikes... >_<
  16. Hi everyone! *waves* Just bought the game today! While I'm downloading I have a question for all you computer savvy experts out there. I have a ATI Radeon 4870X2, it's hot, loud, and fickle but it's all I've got for now...What is the best new driver for that card? I'm one of those folks that does not update unless it's absolutely necessary to do so, I've found that constant updating, can be, far more trouble than it's worth sometimes. I'm currently running my card on ATI drivers 10.9 with the CCC, and for what it's worth, it runs really well...I can run Skyrim on ultra. However if this game insists I update it, what is the best driver to update to? Oh and Bioware...if your're out there. Can you please, please make the games 'settings' accessible from the launcher? I usually play my games windowed and I hate booting up a game that goes right to full screen. I have to fight with alt-tab to appease my firewall. It's also a very convenient thing to have on a launcher.
