1.1.5 - death of rarity and achievements?!
JediElf replied to Sky_walkerPL's topic in General Discussion
This! I just got off Hutta last night, with my friend. ^_^ -
This! 100% this in a nutshell. I've been avoiding rolling either of the Jedi classes for those very reasons, I'll probably rack up dark side points to the maximum, because they will be the decisions that make the most sense. Why can't we have the choice to be a Grey Jedi? I'd love to see that.

I love this game!! I love it, I love it, I love it!
-
Well said! I'm not quitting either. My adventure, has just begun! ^_^

*shrug* Then play a game that appeals to you, and leave the folks who love this game to play in peace. It's that easy....

I wish it didn't...casual can mean so many things, to so many different people. Casual does not equal lazy, stupid, or 'bad'. -
I'd rather rule over my emotions, as a Sith. Than be in constant battle with them, as a Jedi.

Guys guys....take a deep breath. I'm sure, that the devs of this game, will create something else, that's super duper extra special for ya. Give them time..... -

Well at least my back will get a brake now. It was getting really sore, what with all the bowing that I was required to do, in the presence of those with magenta crystals. -
I'd like to see people get creative, and artistic with the UI mods. Enough of the ones that just squish everything down, lets make a Jawa themed UI mod.
-
Never mind...I'm done with this....time to move on.... I'll just enjoy the game as I see fit. I have faith that the devs will stear the game in the right direction, and with consideration for all gamers, at all levels. As for some of you, I'm not sure what to say, but I hope that some day you find what your looking for.... May the force be with you.

Do we play the system? (no art, no story, no fun, no friends, just cold calculations and 'top dog' mentality) Or do we play the game? (the art, the story, fun, lifelong guild friends, and a grand adventure defeating many challenges, along the way) I think Chewpaco has summed it up best, and to me, is the example of a true Raid leader.

If this thread is any indication, then we will already tear each other to shreds, over the meters. For every person who says that they are 'just a tool' how many also mention that people will 'need to preform better', that expectations will take on a professional level, or the person will be booted, and forgotten. Who will really use these meters as they are intended to be used? As tools, and a personal guide.... No, how many will use them a an ego boost, as a way to obsessively control all of those around them, as a way to demean and shame those who are just trying their best? For every raid leader that it helps, it will create a little PUG dictator spamming Recount on normal trash pulls. It's human nature, and human nature is more like the Sith than the Jedi really... The meters will come, but for now I will enjoy the relative calm of the game, enjoy the general chats as they are...before the tide of rage and anger sweeps over it, and casts a dark cloud into the sunny sky.

Yes but the Jedi are still forbidden from falling in love. According to them it leads to the 'Dark Side'. A Sith my choose to see love as a weakness, but they have a choice in that matter, a Jedi does not. Also, to me, the Jedi way of controlling emotions is to feel none at all, to be detached and distant from your own humanity and lose a real connection with the world. Now to me, that speaks of the same paranoia that the Sith suffer from, except it somehow more insidious, and cruel. The life of a Sith is dangerous, but in a way it seems a bit more genuine for a being born with that kind of power. The Jedi life is a lofty ideal, that would lead to madness.
-
This is why I stated the Sith are more REAL than the Jedi. No human can completely cut themselves off from their emotions. They are a natural part of life. Sith as a whole are not evil, but individuals within are. I agree as well. I'd much rather be a Sith, than a Jedi. ...at least as a Sith, I could fall in love, and allow myself to be loved by others.

Are we going to get them soon? Is their an ETA of sorts?

Yay my thread still lives! Yep I'm having fun so far, and playing with a lifelong friend of mine. It's really cool seeing who's conversation choices win out, and what the consequences are, we've had some mighty good laughs over just how different our smugglers can be. I swear though this game is not good for my alt-itus. o_O

Some people don't care about 'performance' they just want to play the game and have fun with their friends. I'll be happy when they do eventually come to town, then I can actively avoid the DPS rage, hardcore raid wannabees, and little angry PUG dictators, that the meters will (unfortunately) create. (I know not everyone is like that, and frankly i may be asking for build advice from pro raiders int he near future...but it can't be denied that sadly, meters bring out the worst in a lot of people...sad but true.) I'll seek out like minded people to play with, and to RP with as well. I'll finally know who to avoid....it makes me sad to avoid people, but if I must I shall.

As far as I'm concerned the Sith make more sense than the Jedi ever will. Sure they may be wild with emotion, and more likely to stab you int he back than help you....but at least they are 'free' in a sense, free to feel and act as they wish. If a Sith falls in love, it won't bring him over to the Dark Side. The Jedi always strike me as cold, unfeeling, and slightly creepy.
