Every problem in this game can be traced to two lines of thinking, first, "my heart is with the role players" as one of the lead designers was quoted as saying and second the quote about the art department basically throwing a fit to get gear coloring option taken out of the game at launch, which to me say the design team has a "they will play the game the way we want them to play attitude", similar to the way role players tend to think as well. Every issue is the designers struggling to keep players away from what they want, gear they want, look they want, where they want to spend their time (not fleet).

Bioware is proving to behave like shysters with this type of FTP/Sub hybrid model, they either need to make all Cartel items available for reasonable in game cash at a VENDOR or increase the monthly coins for subs to 1200, or drop the sub price itself, pick one Bioware because right now, the "new" cartel stuff you are charging your long time subscribers for, should be included in content release that our monthly charge pays for.
  3. Won't effect lag, but there should be more sound/voice options to toggle on/off.

PVP progression should never be about creating the endless cycle of haves and have nots and that's all you get in the current/now former setup, PVE gear progression and PVP gear progression need to be treated very different, I believe BW should change things up and make the shell have some kind of separate bonus and vendor all armor, mods and enhancements separate for us to build our own custom gear, now to me that would be fun.
  5. I really wish Bioware would pull resources from content and work on quality of life issues in the game that are still present a year after launch, I have some business news flash for them, you are always more successful when you work to retain customers than attract new ones.
  6. Nothing scales well in his game, I would say fixing the freaking helmets scaling 1st, body type 1 and 2 look like idiots with half the helmets in the game, when I wear the destroyer helm with my type 2 Assassin I look like I got into my dads gear and am wearing his helmet.
  7. This... The 1st thing you should do is to remove all of the lvl 51s that he has on and put them in the cargo bay, then either buy the green custom parts,motors and sensor, fill them with green/mods/armor from the GTN, crafted or planet mod vendor (any mix of Aim/Cunning is fine), get him appropriate lvl ear piece, implants, sniper rifle and vibroknife. Be warned, once you remove his parts, motor etc you can not put them back in until lvl 50 if they ever do fix the scaling thing.
  8. Voice overs are great in Class Missions and Flash Points, beyond that they are a repetitive waste of money and time, for the love of god don't replete the same mistakes and waste valuable resources on VOs at the expense of new content that will keep players subbed.
  9. Recolors of all the current gear in the game for only $12 (on top of the $15 sub), how could you possibly be disappointed? Bioware hasn't taken SWTOR from being the hottest game with millions of subs to a ftp mess for nothing you know.

I've always believed that there is a better way for pvp gear, I would like to see the pvp shell to be able to be purchased with comms (say 400) and then the radical change is that you can purchase pvp armor, mods and enhancements all separately for 400 comms and allow us to build our own custom armor with the stats that we want for our own build. Thoughts?
  11. I have a question, that's symbolic of the type of issues a player in this game faces. On my Sith Assassin (Jedi Shadow) recently, equipped him with a Electro Saber Staff in place of the double bladed lightsaber, now as far as I know the Assassin/Shadow is the only class that can equip this type of weapon, yet, your main skill, Maul (stab in the back from behind) can NOT be used when one is equipped, instead the skill only works when the Saber version is equipped, essentially making all of the Saberstaff's useless to player characters. Bioware, how in the world does this make sense a full year after launch?
  12. So you don't like to PVP don't do raids, OPs and get bored with endgame, here's a clue, go play a single player game to your little hearts content. The fools at Bioware that came up with this story voice over every mission garbage as a sales angle will hopefully never work on another MMO again, 90% of the players spacebar through these things, and yet a obvious fortune was spent on developing it, money that could have been spent to develop things that a majority of people actually want, I can promise you more story ain't one of them.
  13. I will put my Madness (Battlemaster only geared) Sorc up against most any other classes in a 1v1, keep your bubble up, keep them slowed and away from you, keep dots on them and it's a easy win.

    Well lets be honest, and more mature about what is and isn't OP, Marauders and Juggs aren't "OP" the Rage tree is, Pyro is a "OP" tree for Powertechs, bring those trees more in line, buff the Merc's Arsenal, Sorcs Lightning and Assassins Deception tree and tone down Snipers just a tiny bit and there will be close to balance, just don't destroy a AC like you did the Merc or Op.
  15. or it could be the issue with companions not color matching gear, or one of the other great gifts we get in ever patch that BW puts out.

    Warzone quitters.

    A simple 5-10 min no pvp debuff for leaving a match would probably do it, its always been a problem from day one, now it's worse because of a larger player base and therefore more anonymity.

While I agree the elimination of useless stat gear (Battlemaster) and I've been saying since beta that a simple match maker along with cross server PVP will fix 1/2 of this games PVP issues, BioWare does not seem to have a grasp on important issues and has always had mixed priorities. I don't expect these changes anytime soon.

I use this build, well, I did until a couple weeks ago on my Jugg for around 9 months or so and liked it a lot, mainly for PVP, I do use a shield generator shell with dps mods inside and full dps gear with augs as well and have liked that setup . I opted to put 2 points into Ravage instead of shield buffs, I used to use this build with all tank gear and it worked quite well but when Huttball was scaled way back I found a pure tank was not as much fun for PVP.

  20. Yeah the relic thing is dumb and has been promised to be fixed since beta with so called "gray gear".
  21. Cheating? yeah right, maybe on some weirdo RP server it may be, but for the rest, come on, the game is FTP, just give players what they want and stop putting unnecessary road blocks up. The "their way" that BW has tried to make it's player base play the game have failed and that's why the huge sub loss and that's why SWTOR sits as a free to play game in less than a year after launch.

I have 2 Assassins, one 50 (65 valor) and one 32, both are mostly Darkness speced and the 50 has a mix of mostly DPS with a few key Tank gear pieces, the Saber, Offhand, Ear, 1 relic and legs, then everything else is offensive and all gear is willpower augmented. She works best when using area and single taunts, using lots of area damage like discharge and whither, and shocks (with the harnessed Darkness Force Lightning mixed in, along with as many knock down and mauls as I can get in, always be on the move, get into stealth as soon as your out of battle and 100% healed and use force shroud as soon as it comes up when in battle, if you get into trouble use force cloak. Ive tried a lot of variations with gear and build, I generally like to be a utility player in pvp, defending doors, running the ball ect but also want to win one on ones without a problem so this build works for me, but you'll never be top damage, or top protection.

BLA BLA BLA, must have been one of the "it's only closed beta, "chill" bla bla bla... it's only close beta, "chill" bla bla bla, it just was released, "chill" bla bla bla, it ... time to just zip it with the constant "grass will be greener just over the next hill" garbage, because of listening to posters like you, Bioware made stupid decisions that have ruined a potentially great game and made it a shadow of a MMO.

The gear art department has by far been the weakest link for Bioware thus far, I'll never forget hearing that they basically threw a fit to get armor recolorizing out of beta before launch so that players would be force to get together the originally intended set, this represents all of whats wrong with Bioware and why their product has underperformed to the extent it has, good basic game very poor management decisions along the way. Luckily in this case a half step was put back into the game of chest piece matching after heavy player complaints.
  25. Fix the stupid stun/resolve system. The need for stuns and slows in PVP is understood, you need to slow down the action a bit otherwise its DPS or die, the solution, in my eyes, is to simply make all stuns give immunity to taking damage, so even though your stunned for those 5 secs(which is still annoying as hell when it's chained) you won't be burned down with no chance to react. Please Devs, take this simple across the board, fair step to make SWTOR something other than a PVP joke.
