  1. Definitely needs to be a live stream. That is the only way people, including me, will accept that you're not cherrypicking. And it has to be solo and random as well. Regardless, doing this as a healer is rather pointless. You dont have to deal damage and you dont really have to survive longer than a particular enemy. This would make a small point with regards to survivability, but healers are squishy anyway... The gear complainers are mostly DPS players, healers tend to complain about class imbalance much more.

    Observations

If Master Strike stopped channeling after 4m, you could "interrupt" a non-Combat-spec Master Strike by _walking in any direction_. It would be a waste of a keybind (as it stands, there's little reason to use it outside of Combat anyway.) Imagine if Force Lightning only targeted the air at the spot you were standing when it was activated and stopped when you took a sidestep
  3. Look at the CC breaker description, that one is "all incapacitating and movement-impairing effects." Force Camo is "all movement-impairing effects." Roots aren't stuns in this game, as such "movement-impairing effects" aren't "incapacitating effects." As to the rest of your question, every sent/mara should put 2 points into this simply for the 80% speed buff to trans/predation. Besides, being able to break a Sniper's or specced Sorc's KB-root is a godsend. Also, wrong forum.
  4. I don't think you've ever played solo against 2 premades of the same guild.
  5. Resolve isn't broken, it just isn't enough. The bar goes down way too quickly and the cooldown of the CC breakers is too long in comparison. I personally also think knockbacks should add more resolve. There's a difference between "dying under focus fire" and "dying under focus fire while unable to do a damn thing about it."
  6. This game has a PvE gear progression and a PvP gear progression/grind. Do we agree on that? The PvP gear grind is manageable at first and somewhat irrelevant later if you do everything right pre- and post-50. Do we agree on that?
  7. A significant increase in combat efficiency over PvE gear. And that is what it's supposed to do. The difference between BM and WH is not a significant increase in combat efficiency. If you're going into PvP in Rakata (and I mean close to full Rakata, not some hybrid WH/BH set) that is your problem. I'll retract what I said about evening out the gap, illogical math on my part. But no, it does not create any more of a grind. The very existence of PvP gear creates the grind, which is a separate issue. Expertise is just one stat.
  8. This is absurd. Fun fact: Expertise isn't the only stat on PvP gear. You still need the high-end PvP gear for stats, and Expertise helps to even out the ridiculous stat differences between Recruit and everything else more than anything. You get an easy 900 with Recruit, and over 1200 by the time you're in BM. When people are on their way to War Hero, many are already swapping expertise out for better PvE mods. For example, is there anyone out there who runs with 2 Expertise crystals in their weapons?
  9. 930 power? How do you have 400 more Power than me with the same acc/crit/surge ratings?
  10. Low Slash is required, but also extremely versatile in PvP (And PvE, if only on trash and dailies, heh). My favorite is using it on a Marauder casting Ravage. If they're Carnage spec, you pretty much gimp their burst by letting Gore run out. And it's the best setup for Shadow Strike.
  11. OK, so I'm an Infiltration Shadow in about 80% BH and the rest Rakata gear. Here is my current gear and spec. Can anyone give advice on my distribution? I'm wondering about my HP and Willpower for the most part...Most other players have 21-22k hp in ever so slightly better gear, and higher mainstat despite stacking Power augments instead. Am I optimized properly at this point, or is my choice of stats lacking?
  12. I haven't looked at logs in some time, but I believe Massacre, which has two strikes just like Vicious Slash, auto-procs 2 Ataru strikes as well. Not sure if this is possible with Vicious Slash (Or any offhand ability for that matter.)

  14. Would you be saying the same thing if said person with superior stats could pull off a 10k hit on you and kill you before you could down 10% of his health? That isn't possible with current gear, of course. Recruit/partial BM is enough to stay competitive, assuming your class, skill and ability to avoid being noticed is up to par. But what if gear was like that? Would you react the same way? Is there any point at which a "good PvPer" would say "Hmm, maybe this gear thing is a load of crap"?
  15. I prefer Charge > Deadly Throw* > Force Choke. There's no fire when you walk in. There sure is when you're trying to get out . *carnage
  16. It's silly to suggest that there is an abundance of "scrubs in purples" in high-level competitive team play. If there's a team of purples at those rating levels, chances are they aren't playing the game for the first time.
  17. How much of a difference do you think my sabers (WH main, BM offhand) make in getting DPS out? Cause I certainly don't feel like I'm using a wifflebat on anyone despite having below-average stats in my gear (currently ~1300 STR with a Rakata stim). I never even tried using Recruit sabers, but I think that's the trick for DPS...those items determine flat weapon damage, and DPS classes, especially dual-wields, get an instant boost just from them.
  18. I'd ask you, why would YOU do that to 7 other people? You have to learn to deal with it, and to be able to contribute in every warzone. Quitting is selfish as it is, and especially so because you hate the map. And a checkbox would in fact lead to 5-person teams at start and class imbalances. If you could choose which ones to queue for that'd be less of a problem....but then queues would take forever.
  19. I did take the cash I spent nearly all of it on Recruit anyway, except for my sabers. I'm apprehensive about augmenting BM though. When I get WH, that'll mean either extracting all the WH mods (90k per, is that about it?) or re-augmenting the new stuff (bit over 100k per unless I get some from guildies.) And that's after already having augmented BM. Thanks for the responses.
  20. Yes, that's why I quoted it. He was the one complaining about marauders. ...or was he?
  21. That reminds me, I forgot to sig your post from the "Remove undying rage" thread. There, it's done!
  22. OK, so all the whiny and complaining threads aside...this game has a gear gap. I've seen conflicting evidence, however, of how severe it is. I want to find out, in a flame-less and logical thread, from some more experienced people how much gear differences really impact gameplay, and how much of the complaining is legitimate. I have a Carnage marauder who just hit 50 maxed out on comms. I bought a BM mainhand, put the mods in an offhand and bought the WH mainhand as well. Augmented those, rest is Recruit. In my very first warzones, the Gore > Ravage > Scream combo (with crit on Scream) could take at least half health off a guy with no cooldowns on. I now have 4 of my BM armor set (unaugmented) and 3.5k+ crits with Force Scream is very common. I haven't looked at full combat logs yet, but I've seen killing blows between 2k and 4k on me from most DPS classes. Never seen a Sent Force Sweep hit for as much as half my health. I sometimes win, sometimes lose 1v1's with other DPS classes (in warzones, not duels, so I can't see their gear). Is it that: 1) I'm only doing that well against low-geared (partial BM) people. 2) I'm playing an OP class. 3) The gear advantage that people in WH (full or partial) have on me is much less significant than often insinuated.
  23. Does the Inquisitor's/Sorcerer's Force Lightning deal unmitigated elemental damage, and does it thus differ from the Consular's/Sage's Telekinetic Throw? I have searched for a long time, and many people insinuate that FL is elemental (tooltips notwithstanding) and thus severely imbalanced. I've found video proof to the contrary from January, but the video raises the question of expertise damage reductions, and people are still saying that it is elemental. Could the devs please answer this once and for all? Thank you.
  24. Definitely, strip out and put them in any orange shell you have, that's another BM piece right there. Only problem is the armoring is bound-to-slot. How much expertise is on those?
  25. There are so, so, so few threads these days when L2P is a completely legitimate non-troll response. This, however, is one such thread. L2P
