  1. The story is "meh" at best, sort of feels like those pizza leftovers you get to find lying around in the kitchen the day after, right? It's the FP that "bugs" me - I don't even know what it's about - it's such a buggy mess I didn't get the chance to focus on what was going on. Shame
  2. If you have only one character, or even a low lvl character, here's some advice: if it's lvl 65, you might want to transfer it (should be able to have 1 free transfer) from this server onto The Red Eclipse. If it is on lower lvl - just abandon it and start over on TRE.
  3. I can understand that - and it would also be unfair to all those people I just found out moved to TRE. Moving a lot of toons must have been an expense even at the reduced price. That is why I would wlcome yet another turn of reduced prices for transfers, but it would need to happen pretty quick, otherwise, there's just no point. By the way, I wonder if this portion of the forum gets any attention from community managers - I mean, this is actually quite an issue for a considerable number of people still. Is it possible that they are not aware?
  4. I would also very much like something be done - either a merge or a discount on transfers. I just came back yesterday, and after finishing a couple of kotfe chapters that I was missing, happy to get back to normal gameplay after that, I was shocked to find barely anyone playing on TOFN. Same as other posters before me, i don't feel like paying for 7000CC (for the transfers of 7 of my toons) to even play the game normally. I think I paid enough for this game already over all those years.
  5. Guys, you should probably wrap those parts of your posts as "spoiler", for those who may stumble upon this thread later while searching for info on the macrobinoculars and seeker droid. No point in spoiling someones fun with the quests. Pretty please.
  6. I know about the reputation caps and how to maximize the reputation gain per week, that's basic stuff, but thank you for the reply. The cyan mount is a bit different from the blue/red ones, and those last two are easy to get, because the gree event is here a couple of times a year. I was rather wondering if someone has knowledge about the availability of the vendor post the event, either from official sources or previous Life Day experience. By now I learned there's no such info, at least not among forum users.
  7. Was thinking of suggesting this myself. Rift has a nice system. Left the game a while ago, but I remember that you could have a couple sets of "look" gear, and a base set of stat gear. You could choose to show either one of the look sets or the stat set. It worked very nice and saved space and time.
  8. Is there a place where this is officially confirmed? Sad thing is, I was here during at least one previous gree event and I don't remember anything being said about Gree reputation being a requirement for later event rewards. It's pretty unfair that I find out about that now, when it's too late. That is - if the vendor doesn't stay longer.
  9. As I understand it, you need 4 weeks to get from 0 to Champion with Gree. Will the vendor on fleet (the one with the cyan sphere) be there long enough to get the rep to champ and buy the sphere?
  10. Here is the question - is it possible to get the cyan sphere during this (2013) event if you started with 0 Gree rep? Edit: Ok, I just read that the gree vendors remain in game after the event ends, but what about the life day vendor on fleet? Will I get a chance to hit Champion with Gree and get the Cyan Sphere?
  11. Well... you can farm creds and then buy it on GTN. Ends up the same thing, only that while you farm the cash by doing daily quests you also get a chance to earn rep. It's not perfect, but you know what they say - devs gotta eat too.
  12. Tank Behaviors section - the healer is not the typical target for Guard. Quite the opposite, you only guard the healer in specific conditions, otherwise, it should always be the stronger dps.
  13. Uh... no, they won't. It was already stated that class stories are over. They can change that decision in the future of course, but for now, class stories are out of the picture.
  14. Check this on Dulfy. It's not perfect, but it's a start. Also, you can check your class specific sub forum for guides / links to external guides on BIS gearing.
  15. This. I was wondering when someone will state the obvious - there are only a few ways things can be done right in this game, and there are uncountable ways of messing things up or making them weird. And somehow the latter is much more interesting to a wider public.
  16. I think it's not the jump mechanics but the badly mapped routes to the datacrons, where you get stuck-teleported if you step on something invisible (makeb +10 endurance, hoth +cunning, corellia imperial +willpower, corellia +strength, corellia +aim) or you simply fall through textures (makeb and corellia again).
  17. I noticed the lisp as well. Funny thing is, I wear a Rascals Toothpick on my merc, so it actually fits so nice
  18. What if he has two or more gear sets? This is a silly remark, people respec all the time. Functionality allowing players to save and quick load sets of commonly used gear / abilities setups is something a lot of people have been waiting for for a long time. Currently there is no way to do that, what you can only do is field respec. If you do it like a hundred times, you'll get so used to it, that it takes only half a minute. Of course, it is still annoying.
  19. All the above mentioned advice is solid, but I think you were also a bit unlucky. I do a lot of flashpoints just for the fun of it and noticed that most players are actually nice people, willing to help a beginner. Don't be put off by the few failures or the occasional nasty player. Telling the party that you need some guidance will end in other people helping you in most cases. And if you meet someone who bashes you or tries to go ahead of you, while you are trying to set your tanking pace (by for example, waiting for others to cc mobs), ignore them. What you can also do is announce yourself on fleet ("Beginner tank looking to learn HM55 fp's, lfp to guide me" or something) - I'm pretty sure that a group would form really fast, and the chances are they are patient, helpful people
  20. I found noxxic.com to be quite helpful. I don't know if they are correct on everything, but it all seems legit to me. Select your class, game type focus (pve/pvp) and preffered skill tree, and it will give you all the info on stat priority, ability priority and itemization as well as other stuff.
  21. Probably a way better solution. See, one Cartel Pack is usually 300k -350k, sometimes more. A Legacy wide cargo bay unlock is around 1000 CC. You can buy 3 Cartel Packs for 1000 CC. A Legacy wide Cargo bay unlock is around 700k on GTN. Buying 3 Cartel Packs for around 1000CC and selling them gives you 900k cred. Minus 700k for buying Cargo Bay unlock leaves you with 200k extra compared to just buying Cargo Bay unlock for 1000 CC. This just an example, there might even better ways to get the max out of your CC by using GTN / CM proficiently. Prices are from today, TOFN server.
  22. No, not at all. You can do it freely. You can also send items (especially bound to legacy items, which you can exchange for class specific gear through a vendor in the capital world), mods, materials for crafting and so on. There is even at least one moment when you are required to send goods between your republic and imperial characters:
  23. He means your character - the player character, not other companions. In railed space combat your character talks - "To be me" and stuff like that. I guess the answer would be same as one above - not to make it noisier then it already is, so you can talk to ppl on vent. Railed space combat didn't have to take this into account.
  24. If you are able to use double blade you are definitely an Assassin. I don't remember the fight exactly, so no tips on specific tactics from me, but here are some general pointers: 1. Make sure you are using Willpower gear (comms, implants, mods in moddable pieces) - it is your primary main stat (check noxxic.com for info on the importance of other stats for your AC). 2. Use a healing companion if available. 3. Make use of "line of sight" - when the mob casts, try to run behind cover, like a pillar or something - that will break their casting. 4. Make use of stims and medpacs - remember you can use a medpac once per fight, so make it count when you use it, your stim is willpower ofc. 5. You have a heroic moment ability (channel the force) and a damage mitigation skill only usable with an active companion - be sure to use those when the companion is still alive - one will heal you for a minute and the other reduces damage you and your companion take. Channel the force alone makes a substantial difference. 6. As other posters mentioned, it is perfectly fine for someone, including other classes, to help you with the fight. There are friendly people out there, you can always try asking someone for help. Another player + their comp = zash's old *** kicked. Hope I was at least a little helpful. Good luck.
  25. It's shift+left for sure. It even swtiches you back to the "search/buy" tab of the GTN interface if you are in the "sell" tab while doing it.
