  1. I ran about 4 tacticals before it completed on Mandalorian Raiders. On another toon, it completed right away on Hammer Station. My guess is someone forgot to "check the box" in what completes this quest.
  2. Don't see how level sync has anything to do with the speed of light...
  3. Would be nice to have them drop the markers of what your class and specs are in the 4v4. Otherwise the OP reads like the equivalent to drunk dialing an ex.
  4. Note this all assume everyone in the group know there is no free candy in the red circles... Your gear is fine for HM FPs as a healer. The only problem you might come across isn't really going to be with you. Bolster, imo, doesn't distribute stats well for tanks. When it comes time to do the bonus bosses, you might find your tank leaking hit points if they are relying on bolster rather than on their gear. If that's the case, you might have a time keeping up with the holes. I've heard similar things about dps being low enough to really edge the timers, but haven't "seen" it with my own eyes because I only run healers and tanks. If you are really worried, a cheap and fast way to gear out for HM FP's is to run the weekly PVP mission. With the 5 missions and the weekly reward, you should have enough tokens to get the Cynosure gear. It will give you the set gear bonus, and its a cheaper way to shift enhancements around to get all the right stats you want. That should hold you over until you can get the upgrades you want. 5. Gonna agree with TX here except to say 16GB is my floor and has been since Windows 7 64 bit was stable. The old adage has been "your first upgrade to any pc is to add more memory". SWTOR is a 32 bit application. It will NEVER address more than 2^32 bits (4GB) of memory. If your system is running only 4 GB of memory, you have to account for EVERYTHING that is running then tack on whatever else you want to run. This is assuming you are even running a 64 bit OS (it could happen). I can't say that I've ever seen it running more than 1.5-2GB at any given time that I've looked though. Granted I don't keep a monitor on it all the time. Windows is sneaky though. It will use a swap file without ever telling you unless you've specifically set it not to (and doing so is generally a very very very bad idea). If you are running some preset limit (and only MS programmers seem to be able to divine what those limits are), then windows will dump bits of memory to your hard drive which is much slower. In short, running at the "minimum required" is never a good idea if you can help it. You'll be bottle necked at every conceivable point and when you go to ask for help, the answer will be "get a better machine". More memory generally gets you farther than a stronger processor when working with anything in the last 3 years.
  6. Yeah, it would be unfair to those that made the effort. Almost as unfair as dropping pvp season or nim ops mounts into the cartel market... Oh wait...
  7. Artificer's requiring Armstech... What is this game coming to??? Its like they are trying to move away from single player content... Must be a bug because there is no way this is a possibility.
  8. First time, shame on you. 7,304th time its probably time to stop buying in to everything the yellow text says.
  9. Never been a fan of the "how to" sites and posts. I've always just run my gear and altered it based on what works and what doesn't. I run healers, toss it all in power the round out alacrity. In my experience, they don't need near as much tweaking as dps. I guess that's the balance.
  10. What planet, class quest and level are you at? You might not be as under leveled as you think.
  11. Just a nit pick here. SWTOR runs on 2 processes. Each one runs upwards to 30 threads (my machine the "game" runs 30 threads, the security process runs 21 threads. your results may vary). What SWTOR doesn't do is run on multiple cores, or take advantage of more than 4GB of memory (say thank you to 2^32 architecture). You might think its semantics, but it is like going to a doctor, complaining about a sore throat then showing them your knee. Sure, they are parts of the body, but that's were it ends.
  12. Shock Doctrine An way to try to get that one done is to tag them as you kill them by moving the token to a numbered slot and let your comp hold the rest. You can also use that invite option on people that are standing around...
  13. With the exception of those that have mobs that don't count, the rest of the OP list would serve to make an already easy game easier. All of the heroics are optional. Nothing in the list is game breaking to either a new comer or a veteran player. For end-game, heroics are merely one way to get the alliance boxes, albeit the faster one at the moment (unless you are flush with crystals on multiple toons). For the leveling people, they are a way to gear up. In any case, they are not in the story line and they are totally optional. I'll grant you that timers are annoying, but waiting around for triggers is a well known delaying tactic in games, both MMOs and open world single player. The current setup being no exception. To that end, I cant tell you how many times I've invited people to make a party in Mutations, Face Merchants and all the others that have slow repawns and had those invitations declined. If people want to wait around and compete for resources, seeing who's fastest on the attack, that isn't a developer problem. In my opinion the issue is the Heroics are too easy. 99.9% of them are solo-able, not requiring 2 people as their title would suggest. Only 1 of them comes close, (False History) and that one is doable if you have phase walk or some other fast moving skill that doesn't require a target. Finally, the heroics from the fleet mission point are weekly quests.. If you aren't able to parcel out the quests over the course of seven days, you might just have another goal in mind.
  14. Boarding Party Tactical. I'm in running a level 30 Jug in tank mode, geared and ready to run. Que in with two other Jugs and a merc, all three as dps according to the queue. Big level 18 Jug is in Tank stance, level 50 Jug is in NO stance at all. The merc is quite, and not really apart of the story. I'm all quite and figure we'll see how the first mob plays out. Mr. 18 runs right in all alone (the Merc still loading at this point) and jumps past the first row of baddies into the second row. 3 seconds later, Mr. 18 is dead and all those red dots are headed to the spawn area... After a couple of respawn/kill cycles, everyone is up, repaired and ready to go. On to the next mob. I mark the two elites, tell the Merc to cc the right and i'll pull the left and everyone else should mop up weakest to strongest. Merc cc's, I pull, Mr. 18 taunts away. His very next attack... Shatter... Mr. 18 is in Soresu stance, but full on Vengeance discipline. In this one fight, he dies twice. I check his gear, full dps, no defense stats at all. I ask if he's got a shield. No answer. I ask if he'd be willing to either switch off Soresu or maybe stop taunting... Nothing... Good times... He stuck it out until the bonus boss. He kept attacking the engineer and killing all of us. After the second wipe, he bailed. It was MUCH easier after that...
  15. I have zero optimism this thread stays G-rated...
  16. Bolstering ups all the wrong stuff for everyone. Tanks don't get enough absorb and shield. Healers don't get the power and alacrity to maintain the sieve that is a bolstered tank. The dps don't have the power and crit to meet the dps checks. You'll be able to pass most of the HM flashpoints if everyone knows the tactics. The bosses will take awhile because bolstered dps's just need time. There's even a good chance you're going to loose one or two people before the end of a boss fight. Is this a standard for every fight? No... but its not all that uncommon. The down side to the 4.0 thought process is SM Ops are easier to gather and run than HM Flashpoint. You get better gear faster. You may not get a token, but you'll come out with more gear, crystals and credits. No more do you need to grind dailys to gear into HM Flashpoints to gear into SM Ops to gear into HM Ops...
  17. Add in that the two side thrusters (the ones that are on in all the advertisements) don't fire off until you do the flourish (ctrl-z). Once you do that, they stay on until you dismount, so its not a "flourish" like the rest of the speeders.
  18. long time... You can hover over each users name and see their user number (its the number at the end of the URL). The lower the number guys registered back at launch.
  19. While most have answered that it isn't really the MK that's as important as the Name, it also depends on your role. The Operations token drops (MK-1) are were you are going to get the set gear bonuses. Starting at 2, you get a bonus ever other piece (up to the 6 piece). You can get that same bonus from PVP gear cheaper and faster (in most cases), but you'll have a lower mastery and endurance. For tanks, you get a bigger hit point bonus from the B mods that come from the vendors. The enhancements will totally depend on a mix of your other gear and how you want to stack out your absorb, shield chance and defense. Healers and dps get more from unlettered power and crit mods. Those only come from the operations token gear. Like tanks, they mix and match enhancements from the rest of the gear drops. MK-1 drops have nice enhancements, but what you want might just be in the MK-2 drops. Sites like this one can give you a list of the parts and stats. That will give you an idea of what gear you are looking for.
  20. Tank 216 Chest Piece Tank 208 Chest Piece The pvp is lower were you need it for tanking, but nothing a healer that's running mixed 220-224 can't overcome. If you're pugging, I'd skip it because you're going to be missing out in mitigation and endurance. Presumably, you'd have respec'd your combat proficiency away from the pvp spec into pve. That would help offset some, but not a lot. You're still gonna going to lose health like water in a sieve unless you change out the mods and enhancements to up your absorb and shielding. You can get them from vendors. B-mods help keep the endurance up, and you can check around for various other parts to get the right parts for absorb and shield. There's tons of "how-to's" out there if you aren't into roll-your-own solutions. Still... unaugmented in HM ops is kind of pushing it in anything beyond KP and EV anyway. Those extra points from the augments really help out... Even in PVP.
  21. Gambling pack sounds so much nicer than digital waste of cash pack. How about "Hope my wife doesn't find out I spent actual money on this" pack. That flows nicely.
  22. I did have a moment when I thought stealth was working. turns out the mob belonged to the guy behind me...
  23. Starforger and Dreadseed sets are still in the game. Mentioned the dread seed cause you'll be getting parts of both in your search. Its a heck of a time-sink, but one step closer to the Sharp Dresser title
  24. pft.... work with full slab artisan bacon then try again. cut your own thickness or just wrap it in your pillow case and snuggle with it. Why waste it on mini-sausages when you can just cook it like a T-bone steak...
