  1. What a pointless fix. The rare yellow champions are already 70, if you hit anything the spawned rakghouls are your level up to level 70 or highest in the group, the eyeless is 70... What exactly does this "fix" fix?
  2. Its a problem about exclusive content. Giving things to only paying customers is what corporations do. But when you offer a F2P product you piss off possible customers that cant ever get any of the past content like the unique mounts, decorations or one chapter. Why not offer those on the cartel market? People would love it. Subscribers would be at no disadvantage because they payed for it already. But no, after all the really crappy rewards like the poster decoration and ship droid customizations they didnt redesign the system, they just silently closed it. They always choose the worse option. Thats the only consistancy they are consistant about.
  3. The eternal commander MK-4 armor (230 rating), charged hypercloth aegis/force, veda force armors are all under the second (pointless) adaptive armor category. There is one orange item currently in my list that can be fitted with mods, all the others cant. At the same time the first adaptive armor category has veda cloth adaptive armor and the only adaptive item in the second should be there two. One of them needs a proper name. Or just make a better category system.
  4. I have no motivation to run them. The achievements arent that important. Another problem is that the command system is still tied to the characters, not to the legacy. I like to farm it with my sorcerer but its a pain in the butt. Star fortress HC sucked even tho I did it in the second attempt with the final boss. That wasnt fun to tank as a sorcerer. Now I finally ran my tank through the chapters who can probably manage higher difficulties easier. But going throught the same chapters with the same char for an even longer duration than before... Thats not really appealing.
  5. But those are necessarily the main groups in MMOs. You can be all of the above, two of the above or just one of them. You seem to imply that there is a way to unite them in some way. Please elaborate.
  6. It would be boring if everyone would want the same. Its the diversity that makes games good for giving players the choice how they play the available content without forcing them in some way like the pvp alliance alert.
  7. We have seen the 8 class stories and planet stories and it was very nice. I didnt like makeb at first but I warmed up to it. I did revan I few times but its stretching toooooo long. Ziost was short or long, depending if you did the bonus stuff or not. Kotfe had the hightest/lowest ups and downs so far and people lost if over 5min of walker experience in a very loooooong chapter in Kotet. Loved to play the emperor at the end, just didnt like the ability cooldowns or odd and useless teleport spells. If I could design an expansion, first of all the story wouldnt just be about an nearly all powerfull and overwhelming enemy. Maybe just stick to the lore of the star wars universe and have just another balanced battle against our opposing faction with the usual infighting among the sitz. And we get to push people around in cutscenes, not like always the other way around. At least one new flashpoint must be involved, liked that part about rishi. Add a space mission perhaps. Make it a journey instead of moving to random places around the galaxy. And most importantly, it can be done as a group! 8 new class stories about the new expansion would be great. Not one fits all nonsense. Your turn. Edit: I would fix a buttload of bugs that have been existing for over 4 years now with a pre-patch that includes a pre-event for the coming expansion to tune people for it. I might be in for adding new races for players. Devaronians, voss, wookie, the orange guys with the breathing mask (mostly in jedi story)...
  8. They answered your request in Kotet chapter 9. It looks terrible. They kept the marauder stance but left the animation of having swords in your hands but they are invisible. Its like they reinvented the wheel and made it cubical.
  9. I would so embrace an option to not draw my lightsaber during fights as a sorcerer. But we have that one melee ability and drawing/putting away the weapon everytime we use that one ability is too much trouble for the devs. New combat styles like holding lightsabers like starkiller would look awesome too. Optional of course. We wont ever see that. But one can dream...
  10. Is there a really short version? Like "announcement says X but math says Y".
  11. This isnt a usual type of scam. You werent active, someone else can claim the rank. This method was created for guilds with an inactive leader. If you think those below you are untrustworthy, why have them in the guild? If there is someone you know you can trust, give him the rank. You hand over the rank? Thats your responsibility. What if someone reports a regitimite transfer of power within a guild? How can customer support tell the difference? They cant and wont. Thats why such issues are not up to them to fix. Yes, guild thiefs suck. Loss of a good guild name sucks. Betrayal sucks. But that mostly happens when we let backstabbers into our guild. Sometimes we can tell, sometimes we cant.
  12. Not physically possible on my end. Without the router I have no way to connect to the internet. Cables from the computer to the router and from the router to the wall socket are completely different.
  13. Until about an hour ago I could play just fine. Then suddenly the ping started to jump, attacks didnt execute for 2-3 seconds. But it was playable considering I was fighting easy groups in the rakghoul tunnels. Then I logged onto my healer for the eyeless. Loading times were longer than usual. Once inside the ping went mad. As soon as we started to clear the trash around the boss, by the time my healing abilities went off the fight was already over and the group on the move to the next trash group. After the third trash pack/pull of the fourth nothing moved for several minutes and I had to use alt-f4 to get out. I waited abit, then started the game. Same as before. High ping jumping around in the tunnel. Switched server but same result on the other two I tried/have characters on. Now Im sitting in my stronghold, ping looks normal but customer service window wont load for over 5 minutes now. And the whole time I could navigate the internet just fine. Right now I even watch a video on youtube. Ive had this problem last week on monday. Maintenance in tuesday fixed it for me. So whats going on?
  14. Take any mount and travel from one side of alderaan to the other. Or belsavis, hoth, tatooine... Those are huge zones. I would support a speeder speed increase but I dont think this game necessarily needs flying.
  15. I doubt the perpetrators can tell how the accounts were identified before they got banned. Ive heard those methods many times and they have proven to be ineffective and cause the damage the devs pretend to oppose. The perpetrators never have to change their methods because they already know that they can do their thing for a few months and then they start from scratch. By forcing them to change their methods and killing their supply at every turn, you actually harm them more and waste their time instead of doing nothing for months. Removing billions of credits after months of investigation only demonstrates that they let the farmers accumulate immense amounts of cash which they sell in the meantime before they take action. Even tho they provide zero evidence for the claim that they actually banned hundreds of accounts and removed billions of credits. And the yellow poster who posted is doesnt have a credible posting record. Yeah, its not like I went through a scenario involving strongholds earlier... But I rather hear your scenario. Of course, its always a stolen credit card involved. And you made a good point to waste the spammers time and even money to spam. You waste up to 30 minutes of the spammer before he can begin spamming. That grows over the month. Actually a good reason to remove the mailboxes because, as I explained twice already, it doesnt harm new players or veterans but only spam chars. The chance to make a connection between a spam account and a credit delivering account is next to zero. If there were a simple method available the accounts would be closed within the timeframe it takes to identify the similarity between them. Spam accounts just have to be shut down. Tracking the delivery accounts should be the main focus. As you pointed out, it takes some time for an experienced player to get away from the starter planet which is the additional waste of time the spammers have to deal with. Now if a GM would have an eye over fresh created chars with wordsalad names that stand on starter planets for 2 days without gaining any level, we wouldnt have to suggest to force the spammers to change their methods. But thats not happening. Stopping spam might be next to impossible. Im aware of that. But its possible to make it harder, more time consuming and hopefully more expensive for them. In the meantime its easier to identify them before they can start spamming. Again, there is zero penalty for new players who have no need for a mailbox before they see their first enemy to kill because they dont get mail until they progressed in their story abit or veterans who have a stronghold. So far you made no argument why new players or veterans need a mailbox on the starter planet. Nobody did. "But it hurts them." Just claiming it doesnt make it true, regardless what you personally think. Your method is do nothing, let them spam, be lazy, predictable. The countermethods havent changed in over a decade. Same goes for the excuses and the claims of "active opposition" yet the farmers never have to change their methods. If the devs dont adapt their methods then no amount of our complaints will achieve anything. Fighting windmills from our point of view. But the methods I can think of require more people and cost more money, and thats something the people in charge are not willing to do. Thats why we have to endure constant spam instead of sometimes spam.
  16. I had the impression that you had to finish your class story on the starter planets to use the shuttle to leave. Or do you just need lvl10? Never tested it since I play it the normal way by finishing the planet before I have need to leave it.
  17. Now you have to explain how ANYONE can access a stronghold with a 5min old account. Or do you think the spammers are so stupid to hand out silver keys for each other to make it easier to be tracked? Unless you want to imply that a spammer plays the first char as long as it takes to buy the stronghold, finishs the stronghold mission (between lvl15-20) or buys a mailbox as decoration, starts spamming, gets banned and then continues to play on another char on the same account as if nothing happened to instantly gain access to the same stronghold with every other char on the server. You paint a picture that once a spammer gets reported and banned, the account is still active. If thats the case then there really is no hope to stop the spam because the system would be even more ineffective than we know.
  18. I can write it just fine. No feelings involved. I can provide screens too: http://up.picr.de/28197325wh.jpg The idea that the word saturday is on a word filter and the most common credit sellers website adress is not would be a hell of a major screwup. Even I would not assume BW is capable of such a level of incompetence after what Ive seen already. Fact is, a tiny addition to the client can do exactly what the players asked for. An individual chat word filter doesnt require any effort or money at all. Players asked for it, to do the work for BW. It doesnt get cheaper than that. A handful of people with an eye on a list of fresh accounts could prevent the spam before the created chars get past the intro too. But the refusal to install or to adapt a word filter (legacy/accountwide of course) and still claiming to fight spam is worse. Reading the same spammer with the same lines for over a year really exposes the yellow lies we read here on a regular basis. They dont need the mailboxes? Good, remove them so those without that hack cant use them either. New players and veterans dont need them anyway. So removing them wont cause harm either way. Right, and without any evidence I have little reason to believe you. And its odd that the ones sending mail always stay 1m away from the mailboxes. How would that API work? Create a F2P account, use legit/stolen bank account/credit card or play through two classes on a planet to get 40 coins to buy something (cheapest is minor valor for 30 coins) from the cartel market to get prefered status for mail access and then use a list of written down char names to pester with spam? And that without a mailbox. Not really convincing.
  19. I was on my jedi, did some stuff, needed my sith and logged onto him, did some stuff at the crew skill vendor in the droomund kaas market, logged back onto the jedi, back to the sith, did things on the tatooine stronghold, logged back to the jedi, logged back to the sith and found him on the droomund kaas spaceport at the ship. Im very sure I left him on tatooine earlier today. Thats the second time in the last days this happened to the same char. My main char of all. And yes, Im sure nobody logged onto my account to mess with my chars because I was logged in the whole time.
  20. Translation: "Im lazy therefor I oppose the fight against mail spam." *facepalm*
  21. Ive seen them work. And I can say saturday just fine in chat. I played wow until legion hit. I had an addon that filtered out 99% of spam without causing lag. Yes, thats client side but it demonstrates that the chat doesnt need to be filtered on the server but on our computers. I have a spamfilter set up for one of my few email adresses and the list consists of about 50 entries so far and this blocks out most spam. And that adress and this feature doesnt cost me anything. This is what word filters have been designed for. You have to keep up with the new words spammers come up with and that reduces your workload. Yes, it happens. But not paying attention to your expenses and bank accounts is extremely careless. YOUR security starts by picking a password thats not just a lazy 5-6 letter word people can guess without knowing a thing about you. Thats the kind of empty assuring nobody is looking for. You dont fight spam. Many suggested to remove the mailboxes on starter planets because neither veterans or new players need them at all. Thats a no brainer. Yet a fresh lvl1 char can spam all day long on that planet, sending spam mail to my chars that havent been online for weeks. Or just enforce the policy to have proper names instead of lettersalad. I already pointed out that my ignore list continues to grow with spammers instead of shrinking. Or just allow us to block ingame mail from people we didnt add to our friends list and you instantly get rid of ALL mail spam!! After you do none of that, I have zero confidence that you have interest in actually fighting spam. Biowares actions or rather lack of actions demonstrates it. Its the "legalize drugs" version of MMOs. You dont need to go to untrustworthy companies with risk of having your credit card details stolen, your emaila adress sold or your account compromised. If any of that happens, its your fault for being careless even without such companies. Im not sure how far I trust BW but this way you dont have to fear a ban for spending your money on ingame currency. In the end you will only use the GTN to turn your real money into ingame currency. Just like with the cartel market. One problem with that system, which Ive seen in eve online with plex, people tend to ask abit too much for those tokens but its one way to create ingame income if you get lucky to sell it. Its frustrating that players offer so many ideas, other MMOs offer so many working solutions yet I feel like talking to a yellow wall with a smiling face on it with a bubble saying "Our fight against credit spammers is always on-going". It makes me want to rage!
  22. There are methods to SIGNIFICANTLY reduce it yet none of them are being used in most MMOs and those really take only minutes to install. One of the easiest is a word filter. Kills most links and names of websites. The rest only takes abit ovservation how the spammers adapt and adaptation of the filter. When I read the same website name for over a year, nobody can claim the devs are fighting spam. They are lying because they dont install ANY method and my ignore list is growing rather than shrinking.
  23. I doubt they can locate the scammers. They can only work with the CC companies to send the money back to the victims but certain costs already happened and the companies bill BW for chargebacks. Again, thats all avoidable but BW, like most other companies, see those costs acceptable because the farmers money for regular accounts might make up for it.
