  1. It was released around Xmas, you'll need to give them another three months really before complaining too much about this.
  2. It isn't terrible, they will realize they need a different play-style completely with different skill tree's anyway. Let's agree to disagree. CC's are among the easier problems to fix in PvP mainly because it doesn't effect PvE that much. Having PvE and PvP balanced at the same time is a different task (see Unload example). WoW's PvP is still far ahead of Swtor and is still very bad. But would you then agree with the statement: "Sometimes some specs will simply not perform well in PvP, even if it's your only DPS tree" and you are fine with that? When they release the rankings, people will not be so happy if they start bounce up and down with every patch. The question of your own skill will be more confusing then separating how abilities function in PvE and PvP. No real comment here besides what we already disagree on. PS. Just to say it, I am not whining about Swtor, I am just trying to give my 2 cents. I believe that minor things like mechanic bugs, CC's etc will be tuned rightly given time because I believe in the competence of BioWare.
  3. To quickly sum it up: If you add damage to the Mercenary ability "Unload" it will have effect on both PvE and PvP regardless if you have Expertise or not. This is a bad thing.
  4. You don't wear PvP gear in WoW "operations" either or vice versa. In fact, it works pretty much the same with Expertise having the same function as Resilience does in WoW. Yet WoW still carries this problem of never being close to have good balance among classes in both PvP and PvE at the same time. And Swtor is following suit so obviously they will run in to the same problem. edit: Regarding world PvP. People should know by now that whatever they say, Battlegrounds (War Zones) and Arena (which Im counting on Swtor adding something similar) will be more popular and swiftly kill off "World PvP". I was there in vanilla, world PvP was awesome but when they added Battlegrounds it started to fade away. When they added Arena world PvP mainly consisted of some high level dude running around killing lowbies. Also, all WoW's attempts at boosting "World PvP" after Arena only failed. Haven't tried those zones in Swtor so I wont judge. But if you can follow your PvP rankings if you play WZ and get rewards from it, why bother with World PvP?
  5. You can't cook one meal that will satisfy both a vegan and a meat eater without lying to at least one of them :-) Why not cook two meals? That's all I am saying (if you catch my drift).
  6. I'll give you an example so you know what I talk about. World of Warcraft Arena PvP - The Destruction Warlock For six full PvP seasons this particular class/spec was completely worthless. So basically for the full lifespan of an entire expansion and into the beginning of another. After six full seasons Blizzard have had enough of the whine decides to do something about it. They can't really add DPS because PvE is the biggest cash-cow and they dont want to mess that balance up.... what to do.... what to do.... So the end result was Blizzard nerfing the constant DPS spam a little and made a instant ability critt for 70% of your HP. The results was = PvE was untouched and I killed everything and their moma with two shots for the coming two seasons. So suddenly our 5's team was fighting against ranked 1 team in our battlegroup. Please dont walk this road Swtor.
  7. Hello! I really love this game and hope that it will become the best MMORPG so far. However, I have concerns about PvP. Why on earth use the same system as WoW but not fixing the biggest flaw it had? For years people asked the developers to separate PvE and PvP so one should not affect the other. The point of this being that a buff in PvE would not totally topple the PvP enviroment. Blizzard never listened to this but instead to the approach so called "FEED EVERYONE!" The "FEED EVERYONE" approach is all about having one group happy for x amount of time, then we make the unhappiest group more powerful and make them happy for a while, and so on and so forth. ---- Worthless. I've been playing PvP MMORPG's for 8 years. I would suggest Bioware to separate PvE and PvP so they can develope both without the oncern of the other. If you do not do this I am afraid you will suffer the same fate as WoW-PvP (Btw, it's still as unbalanced as ever, they just made other classes OP for a while).
