  1. Lived in NYC my entire life (22 years) and referred to it as New York. All my friends and family refer to the city as New York as well. Next you'll tell me that real New Yorkers never say Brooklyn, they say Kings County.
  2. My best advice would be to roll a marauder. My second best advice would be to look for ways to maximize uptime. If you're able to get the correct dummy parse numbers, but you can't translate that into fight DPS, the #1 reason is that BioWare hates melee and you're on a class with a 3 second self root every 12 seconds, but the #2 reason is that you need to be positioning yourself to deal with every mechanic efficiently, whether it's making sure you're near where lightning manifestations spawn, to being where styrak goes up for chained manifestation. Focus on increasing your APM, and always be using an ability, even if it's just your basic attack.
  3. So the lightning weapon tuning tried to make my Ziost Guardian Lightsaber obsolete. Now the two new tunings are trying to make my Furious weapons and the Volatile Conqueror Lightsaber obsolete. How long before you try to take away my Furious armor set and mount?
  4. Alright, thanks for the info I played madness in 2.x, but since lightning was so much better in 3.0, especially when force storm was insane, I only used that in 3.0. As far as I can tell from the top parses, they're pretty close in sustained, so I might as well use the burst spec.
  5. Coming back to the game after a 6 month hiatus, I'm planning on using my sorc DPS for fun or as a ranged alt. What's the optimal set bonus for lightning and for madness? I still have my Dread Master set bonus head, gloves, legs and boots, and already sold my 198 set bonus armorings for those 4 slots. Are 4 186/2 224 armorings or 6 224 armorings considered the best?
  6. http://ixparse.com/challenges/ This is all that matters. No raid leader worth their salt gives a damn about anything else, except for Styrak numbers. This is what leads to kills, not an extra taunt, not saber reflect/force shroud, not a few dark heals here and there. Look at the top fifty parses in the only relevant phases left in the game, that's how "balanced" the DPS are in this game. Someone here mentioned that Juggs have more defensives than Marauders. Are there really any people who would take Juggernaut CDs over Mara CDs? When was the last time all charges of Enraged Defense were used up in a relevant PVE boss fight? I'd take Cloak of Pain any day, and that even increases DPS. Both classes have Saber Ward. Undying Rage is better than Saber Reflect for most circumstances, unless you're doing cheese reflect damage to the boss, but from a pure defensive standpoint it certainly works on more mechanics as well as during enrages. Force Camo is ridiculous, and even resists pull ins on Revan. Endure Pain has less DR than any mara CD, and let's not forget Defensive Roll. Just look at damage profiles on Revan or Brontes, two of the most difficult fights at content level. Maras take less damage from Manifest Supremacy and Machine Core pulses + Aberration explosions. Are you really going to sit there and tell me Heavy Armor is more effective than Defensive Roll? Then of course, the thing that's most relevant to DPSing, uptime. Maras have stronger dots and a longer cooldown on Ravage, which is essentially a 3 second self-root. Predation and Bloodthirst, which increase raid mobility and DPS. What do Juggs have? A worse version of Sonic Rebounder that's only really good right before a high stack heave? But of course, who would take Marauder over Juggernaut if they parsed the same on the dummy? Because Juggs can do the off role of a tank and take 5 stacks of trail and Saber Overcharge or smash orbs during Brontes burn phase? Tell me more about how Juggs are in the perfect place.

  8. Jokes on you BioWare, already killed Revan HM over a year ago on my PT spamming Rail shot and explosive dart from 30m popping hydraulic overrides every 30 seconds.
  9. I've been rejected from multiple teams for being a Jugg before. I was told that DP NiM wasn't possible on a Jugg and that I should make an assassin, when I already knew of a Juggernaut DPS Deposer on JC.
  10. I have just one question: Do you accept Guardian DPS?
  11. Same thing for me and another person on JC fleet: 1 weapon tuning in 5 hypercrates. Oh well, guess I'm adding it to my Ziost Guardian Lightsaber, because you can never have enough lightning
  12. He literally said Ravagers is easy except for M+B if people haven't done it before. What exactly is false? People now think they're gods when they clear content with free 204 MHs and aberrations are nerfed to the ground or free 224s from EV and KP HM with every single operation nerfed in HM to be trivial. You can even solo heal HK because you only need 1 cleanse, which means you could probably 6 man Revan now.
  13. 8/10 is certainly a stretch, you basically needed a decent group to kill Master and Blaster, but I knew groups that had deadweight that went 7/10. They were all good friends that didn't want to replace people just to down content, which I can certainly understand, but it also made the best players in that group frustrated. As for people who spent hundreds of millions, we actually had one person who bought every single operations achievement, including some we didn't offer like surviving TFB/SNV NiM, and who gave us probably 150-200 million for that. You're absolutely right about Coratanni. A lot of people eventually figured out aberrations, especially once they got nerfed so that anybody with any reaction time could deal with them. Cora had some pretty unforgiving mechanics and required a bit more coordination and team chemistry. It was the one boss my group refused to sell because we didn't feel that it was possible with a buyer without them killing everyone with double down. I'm pretty sure we wouldn't have made the Ruugar DPS check with the buyer /stucked for the whole fight either.
  14. Funnily enough, all 4 people who bought Revanchist from us either bought 8/10 as well, or had achievements with their raid groups that couldn't kill Revan. If you looked at their achievements, it almost looked legit because they'd be on different days.
  15. Silly me, I forgot about tactical FPs Also, with the number of people who have bought Wings/Revan/Dread Master, I would never trust achievements, especially if they're all from the same night.
  16. This is the kind of cancerous response that BioWare creates with every decision they make about operations. In the future, aberrations will have 20 GCDs between each explosion and everyone can pat themselves on the back for having globaled the Machine Core in Revan HM in 2017 in their full 300 rating set bonus gear obtained from HM Black Talon
  17. Why can't we all dream of a BioWare that isn't hell-bent on decreasing the player population of SWTOR
  18. It was done with all 3 healer classes on HM and used as a method of trying out healers to see if they were competent. Next thing you know, people will be posting 7 man kills of Revan SM.
  19. The cancel subscription box has a 2000 character limit which I completely used up to write this: I first came to SWTOR because I loved the Star Wars franchise, and having played many BioWare games before, expected to get a great deal out of this game. This is my first, and probably last MMO. While I joined to play the story, what kept me playing the game was the end game content, where I would join a team made up of friends that I made in the game, and try to clear the hardest content possible. When you were still creating operations, my friends and I got a great deal of enjoyment out of working on DF/DP NiM and Rav/TOS HM. In the end, we were able to clear 10/10 TOS and Ravagers HM before the Revan HM nerf, and started selling runs for everything imaginable in the game. At this point, I have 99% Operations completion, having started the game much later than most endgame raiders. However, with the KOTFE announcement and the switch to only story, with no Operations/Warzones/GSF map additions, we all lost interest. The only content was recycled old content, and NiM operations did not drop any 224 loot. From 4 raid days a week, we went down to 1, used to farm the highlighted HM. On December 7th, the final nail was driven into the coffin. Eric Musco announced that the highlight HMs were intentionally the best way to farm gear and that NiM content was only supposed to have a chance of dropping 224s. The immense disrespect showed towards end game raiders have made dozens of top tier raid groups leave already, and this last announcement sounded the death knell of the rest. My raid team of 14 months, all of whom I could call good friends, and some of whom I had met in real life during a guild meet, got together and decided that it was the end of an era. The only reason that we had even stayed as long as we did was because we enjoyed spending time with each other and we still held out hope for a bone to be thrown to raiders. We all love this game and have spent thousands of hours in game. Perhaps one day we can all come back to a brand new challenging op.
  20. Not leaving the game yet, but not sure if I'll continue to raid. But lets talk
  21. Arsenal Merc will still parse higher than Lethality Op, Hatred Sin, Vengeance Jugg, Pyro PT, and Madness Sorc. I don't see the logic, especially for the Op, Jugg, and PT.
  22. While I certainly don't agree with the decision to have highlighted HMs drop better gear than NiM content, I'd imagine enough uproar from the community would get this policy changed in time for the next operation to come out. It is definitely counter-intuitive to have better gear drop from easier content. Honestly though, the best question I've ever seen in a guild application was "Do you raid to get loot or do you get loot to raid?" It might not be a relevant distinction for most, but I don't enjoy raids because I get loot from them, I enjoy them for all the other aspects, both intangible and tangible. There will always be a loot treadmill, making previously BiS gear obsolete within a few months. For me loot is a means to an end, a way to make DPS/healing/mitigation checks easier and to further the goal of clearing current NiM content. Right now, most of my toons are still in their 192/198 mixed gear that I cleared the last tier of content with, with my main still sporting some 204 PVP set bonus pieces in place of 220s/224s since there isn't actually any new content to rush to clear.
