  1. <The Noob Crew> in <Last Resort> raids Monday and Tuesday 8pm-11pm PST (11pm-1am EST) is is actively looking for new members. We're progressing on Dxun-Apex right now and we're looking to kill a few bosses in NiM Gods (or some other NiM raid) before NiM Dxun drops. If this interests you, please see the Discord link that Cloak posted and drop Pell#6594 a message. Needed roles: Permanent Healer or Tank Alternate DPS Alternate Healer
  2. Please allow the UI components in the interface editor to scale up to something much larger than current, say 3.0. Scaling the entire UI and then downscaling the components leaves anything from the menu bar terribly oversized when you activate it.
  3. This is a significant contributor to the disparity between pub and impside raiding (other than differences between existing populations, outfits, and animations). You could probably implement it by developing containers that are bound to legacy and ignore other rules about equipment binding when putting items inside. Sell these through cartel coins and then you're gtg.
  4. I mean, it was KP HM. Not exactly a hard fight. You should be fine with like 100-100k range. I'd guess that either: 1) They were trying to compensate for some bad healers, or 2) They had concerns with your knowledge of your class given that you weren't gearing how a lot of other folks are gearing juggs The reality is, gear hardly matters for tanks when you're talking about HMs. What's much much more important is that you know your class and when to use which DCDs . It also helps to maintain stacks. We were pulling NiM EC with 224 gear and one of the tanks in 186 gear and almost getting past EC tanks. So you're gear really isn't that much of an issue.
  5. Maybe it was disussed previously and I missed it, but I haven't seen a declaration of intent of how much gear should be dropping from CX packs. I expect to be able to gear up a main spec (tank) and an off-spec (dps) within one tier of CX packs. However, it's clear from the drop rates that most people won't even get one complete set. I hope BW will comment on exactly what their intent is for gearing. I can live with an intent of one set per tier, but I don't think we're meeting that at this point. More importantly, I'd really appreciate it if BW would say exactly what their intent is at this point.
  6. Some nice and, from a programming perspective, relatively easy changes could be made to logging to make it more useful. 1) Distinct instance IDs for SM, VM, and MM bosses 2) An option to write events to some type of FIFO queue to work around file I/O latency issues 2a) Named Pipe 2b) Event queue (https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/xzwc042w(v=vs.110).aspx?) 3) For stacking buffs/debuffs please include the number of stacks added/removed & remaining (hots, dots, dark bulwark, etc). Would be helpful to understand effectiveness and where players may need to improve.
  7. You'd have to mess with the conversion rates, but here is one option: 1) Average out the dmg requirements for all SM bosses 2) Average out the healing requirements for all SM bosses 3) subtract 1/3* (this ratio is one number that would need to be adjusted to find the right balance) of the value of the current CXP token you get from a boss kill 4) based on enrage timers, work out the CXP per 1,000* (or 2k or 6k or whatever) Damage so that the dps will get the 1/3 back (plus a nominal amount more so that this doesn't royally screw people playing less ideal specs) 5) repeat step 4 for heales. 6) repeat step 4 for tank dps, obviously the conversion rate for tank dps would have to be higher than the conversion rate for a dps spec doing dps The ratio of CPX earned from dmg, heales, etc would have to be tweaked so that it's ideal to kill a boss within enrage timer and not sitting there wiping on a boss. However, as opposed to right now, this would still give something to players progressing on a boss. I mean sometimes you get on a team with a crap raid leader who comes up with crazy dumb strats and you sit there wiping for months on a boss. It would be nice to get cxp in that situation. * these numbers would need to be adjusted to properly incentivize people to kill bosses instead of trying to manipulate the system.
  8. FWIW, with crafting and the changes in 5.1 - this isn't unbearable for gearing a main in 1 spec of gear. Where this falls down is: 1) Alts 2) Different specs (tank vs dps; dps vs heals) for the same toon. IMO, this is as bad or worse than dealing with alts. 3) New and returning players who don't have 220 or higher set bonuses yet. For mods & enhancements, lots of folks are crafting (or buying crafted) which I think was your intention. I see the set bonus issue beinga compounded whenever we get the next set of gearing tiers
  9. Just for the sake of clarity - I believe DarthCognusSion is referring strictly to mods. For example, aside from the set bonus, I believe the 230 Blue armorings and enhancements have the same stats as their purple counterparts.
  10. Dear Bioware, Our choices may not have mattered much in KOTFE/KOTET, but your choices today will indeed reverberate throughout the life of this game. Some choices *do* matter.
  11. Meh, I think the changes in 5.1 are actually pretty good. Drops have been 'acceptable'. It's not a 4.0 loot pinata, but it's acceptable. The problem is the lack of meaningful content. And yes, I mean ops.
  12. I see the points you guys are making here, but I think that willingness of people to take these actions would greatly depend on how much a point of damage/heals/threat is worth. If the conversion rate was some thing like 1 cxp per 300,000 -500,000 damage, then I don't see people trying to hard to game it - it simply wouldn't be worth it. I concede that perhaps threat might not be the best number for tanks. Maybe dmg would work ... but it would have to convert to cxp at a different rate than it would to a DPS character.
  13. Just wanted to throw this out there .... Ops CXP could be based on Damage/Healing/Threat done. You'd have to fiddle with the numbers a bit to find the right conversion rates, but this would help remove the complexity of the current system you've got planned. And to be honest, the new systems is even more complex than the old one .... and you replaced the old one because it was too complex. Not necessarily a good trade;) The one remaining gap is that some fights are heavy on mechanics which would reduce the CXP gained. Subsequently, the conversion rates would probably have to be different for each boss based on the expected DPS/DTPS/HPS required to beat enrage timer while dealing with the dmg output of each specific boss. BWA may have to do a bit more number crunching of the metrics to validate theoretical expected values, but that shouldn't be too hard.
  14. TL;DR You and your ilk and have 2 years of dedicated content development. Stop whining, sit down, and shut up. Good Lord, the sense of entitlement is strong with this one. In their attempt to cater to those who are unwilling or unable to clear advanced content, they created this monstrosity. Their original intent is that you should be able to gear up while doing whatever content you want. I personally disagree with this as it cheapens the skill and commitment of those groups who are able and willing to commit the time to down the hardest content. However, I can see the benefit to the community at large .... provided that it's not a loot-pinata (a la highlighted HM EV/KP). Now then, in their attempt to coddle the unable or unwilling masses, they've made it so that gearing for raids is exceedingly slow (compared to 2.0 or 3.0 normal .... not 4.0 loot-pinata normal). So please pardon them while they fix something they effectively broke while trying to cater to the unable or unwilling masses.
  15. I agree that this is an appropriate response and while I don't precisely how to bug Anvil out - I would say that it shows some significant gaps in their testing. I get regression bugs where fixing one thing causes something else to break, but this was new content. How could they not have tested this stuff (reminds me of 3.0)? Well, I guess better late than never. Good decision on how to handle this BWA .... but these types of bugs shouldn't be there to start with. Really need to look at your investments in testing.
