  1. Very much agree with an entrench ability. We should have had that a LONG time ago. Little tweak to you auto-crit on Tracer. Would rather have an autocrit plus 15% damage on the next HSM. Tha'ts supposed to be our finishing attack and make up for not having a finishing blow move...hey, another thing that snipers have and we don't. If we don't bring something unique to the table, then we should at least be as good as our other ranged dps class. So far they have much better knockback, much better stun capabilities, much better AE capabilities, much better defensive abilities, much better burst dos abilities.
  2. There are many logical fallacies in this post, but I will just point out one of them to make a point to you. You highest hit was a hair shy of 8k. damage. You don't hit that every time, but on low geared players you can hit it. After patch 1.2 mercenaries could hit targets for 8k once in a while with Heatseeker missile. know what happened? IT WAS NERFED TWICE WITHIN 24 HOURS. A SINGLE TARGET ABILITY, NOT AN AE. Now in BIS gear I struggle to get a 5k hit in every game, when Marauders in Recruit can get 5k every time on an AE ability. I know you are blind to it because you play the class, but you really shouldn't be able to jump into a pack of guys and take half their health within a few seconds. That's just OP.
  3. In 1.2 they weakened TM by 10% and increased HSM by 10%. HUGE DPS LOSS. This is a very bad idea. Very very very very very bad. Power-techs get an increased chance to crit buff for 15 seconds. This is something we should have as well. Or else an increase in power for 15 seconds. Giving us some lame cool-down that lowers our overall dps is stupid and also useless for PVE. I also agree with you that we need utility...but we need A LOT of it. We need something huge. Something that would be considered a valuable asset to PVP game-play. Little tiny tweaks, and one escape mechanism is not going to bring us back in line, plus it dooms our class forever cause devs will consider merc fixed after the changes even though an escape mechanism doesn't help with objectives at all.
  4. Your opinion is wrong. Even if merc are left alone their damage potential tops out at 500-600k in regular length matches (<15 mins). Thats half of what real dps classes can do in regular length WZs
  5. Its just their way of QQing that they have it bad because they underestimate their stealth advantage and ignore the fact that the real under-dog class is the mercenary. Mercenary has been nerfed a lot more than operatives too so they don't have anything to say really.
  6. Certain mele can spec into KB immunity for 4 seconds after a jump. Just another slap in the face to us from the devs.
  7. What does being good have to do with one class being superior? You could say the same stupid argument about Marauders or any other class and it still wouldn't prove anything. If you even played a merc at all you would know that Fox is talking about our Cure. We can cleanse off Incendiary missile, Fusion Missile, CGC INCLUDING THE SNARE COMPONENT. Our superior dps makes us much superior in 1v1 vs Pyro. 1.4 evened the scale a bit with an interrupt, but Arsenal also got an instant heal every 12 secs that crits for over 4k. Arsenal is still superior 1v1.
  8. Newsflash: There are plenty of AP Powertechs that PVP Newsflash: Arsenal has more utility and more DPS than Pyro Mercs. Marauders have 3 viable PVP trees. Assasins have 3 Viable PVP trees. Saying that Arsenal is not a PVP spec is just stupid.
  9. Lol...you must not be very good. Assasins EXCELL at defending a node Assasins EXCELL at 1v1 fights Deception Assasins probably have the best burst in the game considering the target is stunned for half of it. Also...your theory about hybrid builds doesn't make a lick of sense.
  10. And people will still use it to cap whether you are a fan or not:) If they have already wasted their CC you will get it every time if you are quick enough with the clicking. Even in that video ou can see several times that the enemy has him targeted and and is spamming the attack button cause he gets hit a split second after the cap. Whether you like it or not it does work well for 1v1 capping and that's not even going into LOSing.

  14. /Facepalm "We are at the bottom of the barrel" yet "you have no issues dealing with any class" So you are admitting that the only reason you are getting any success is because you are playing against a bunch of under-geared, poorly skilled PUGs? Ya think that lack of gear might have something to do with the AMAZING BURST you think you have? Try killing a healer in a RWZ and then come back and tell me you have amazing burst. You have mediocre burst at best.

  16. Oh no no no no no you didn't just bring "30m" into this! Don't ruin your credibility so early man. That's laughable and not even worth explaining. If you don't already understand the problem then get out and pvp a little more. No sorry. I-win button is called 6k AE SMASH! Merc have pretty sub-par burst (whish is just one of their many problems which need fixing). Zach is right. As long as bioware acts like smash specs are ok, then they are the standard. And if someone can leap into a pack of guys and autocrit for multiple targets for 6k every 11 seconds when I have trouble getting 5k on a single target we have a problem.
  17. What on earth is wrong with you guys? Do you even play PVP? How can you say it would screw over 10 other classes if we were immune to interrupts? Hello snipers? Have you ever heard of the mechanic called cover? How about Entrench? Are you completely ignorant to any other class but your own? I hate to break it to you but our burst dps is NOT good. It's pretty bad actually. And I'm 95 valor and have been BIS for months so I'm pretty sure I know what I am talking about. Assasin, MArauder, PT, Operative - every single one has significantly better burst dps, and if you don't think burst dps is important in a PVP environment you just are not a very good PVPer at all.
  18. "Escapes" don't seem to gel with the whole heavy armor bounty hunter/commando lore. I don't want to be stealth. Besides the fact that "escaping" wont help my team accomplish objectives any better even if it does save my life for the time being. Let me also point out that "escaping will hurt dps on an already sub-par class. Look at snipers for guidance (ranged dps class just like us). They have much better defensive abilities that also make them immune to interrupts AND being jumped to by mele. I'm sorry Allison, but Merc/Commando's problem isn't just "when multiple mele attack". We are also the weakest 1v1 class in the game by a long shot. I really think you need to explain to Austin that an escape ability is not bring to bring us back in line. The whole AC needs an overhaul. As many have said before "there is no reason to bring a Mercenary on a ranked PVP team". This is very upsetting considering the time spend grinding 100 valor and gear. Problem#1) All our dps is tied around Tracer Missile/Grav Round which is too susceptible to interrupts. We can be easily shut down by many classes without being able to do the same to any other classes. Problem#2) Survivability. When the Knock-back of Rocket Punch was removed in 1.4 it got even worse than it was before. PLEASE ask Austin to make Rocket-Punch a Knockback WITH a root attached. This would help our survivability SO MUCH. Please also see all the threads in Merc forums about this since 100% of mercenaries agree this is what Rocket-Punch should do. Problem#3) Burst DPS. It's mediocre. This really hurts our survivability as well. Making Heatseeker Missile a little stronger and having it auto-crit when specced into it like so many other DPS abilities would go very far in helping us.
