  1. I figured out a great way to balance pvp. Go play GW2
  2. Hybrid DPS sorc. Setup - spam affliction on 2 - 3 enemies proc Force Barrage and wait for the proc to almost run out. Reckless + Polarity Shift > Force-lightning (4.8k 1.1 second) > Death Field ( 3.5k instant ) > Crushing Darkness ( 2.5k ) Force-Lightning ( 4.8k 1.1 second) Total = 15.6k (+ affliction/CD ticks) in 4GCDs with a wrath proc at the end for another lightning strike. That's if all the stars align, and only possible once every 2 min..
  3. Enjoy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_PGLC-707eI oh you said madness sorc. how amusing
  4. That might be because they: A.) Wear heavy armor B.) Have stock defensive CDs C.) Are also a TANK class
  5. You're 100% right. Why did we have thurs night maintenance this week? Oh yeah to fix EC HM

    Skill vs. Gear

You didn't look hard enough for an answer to #1. Gear is put into MMO's to create the "carrot on a stick" reward system to keep players engaged in being rewarded through gaming. People that feel like their being amply rewarded will continue to subscribe and play. Removing the "carrot on a stick" from mmos would require that developers put in a substantial amount of time developing actual content for the game - instead of new tiers of gear - to keep players entertained. As the costs of developing content are generally the most expensive part of development, the first model (COAS) is typically preferred by developers due to it's low overhead.
  7. HAHAHA Oh wow. you think that e-sports are just fps games? No wonder you like a gear imbalance, you're the dude with 2 kills and 80 deaths in a fps game.
  8. This is how i play my marauder. Well not all the time, other times i'll dangle a cat toy above my keyboard and while my cat's are mashing keys the marauder just goes. It's always a good laugh when one of the furballs gets an assassin medal.
  9. It's nice that you're so objective about this topic that you're willing to take the time to explain that some of a marauder's CC's are only available when spec'd into them, then make the case that everyone else's CC's aren't. hurrr durr Oh and by the way dude, Marauders have 2 stock CC's. Their AOE Mez and the stun that you forgot about - force-choke.
  10. The game is going F2P soon, which means that you can buy an awesome looking set of armor (pre-augmented) for $20!
  11. You'll find that the sorc rules lowbie pvp, but it's damage and bubble do not mature as well as some of the other AC's burst damage/defensive abilities. As you said - the sorc is a great utility class, and has the best mobility of the AC's - which makes it a primary AC for 2v2's at different objectives on a map. If it get into a zerg vs 2 carnage mara's, you're ****ed if they're focus firing on you. Let me know when you get to 50.
  12. You are so deluded in this idea it's not even funny. You're arguing that the great pvpers were only great for the first couple of months because others didn't have the same amount of gear? If you spent 3 months playing this game for 2hrs a day, weren't in full BM by 1.2, and hadn't figured out how-to play your class, then you're not good at video games and no amount trying to justifying it on gear is going to work. Period. And stop trying to validate yourself against other players, you're obviously not in the top 10% of video game players if you think it takes 6 months to figure out how-to play a class/game.
  13. You lost, case in point. I play a DPS sorc in hutt-ball and often my Damage is > 100k, and while i play forward as a position for juggs to intercede to, as well as use my sorc pull often to move the ball carrier forward, i don't gain any objective points for those two actions. So are you going to say that you're a bigger contributor to your team over me?
  14. Sure I support this idea, because people loved WZ queue times of 1+ hours sooooooo much.
  15. You're an idiot. Most of the top pvpers on multiple servers that i've been on have either quit playing due to a plethora of reasons: class imbalances, bugs, lack of content updates, EA/BioWare's **** up with RWZs in 1.2, or a host of other reasons. These are players who would play pvp naked at 50 and win warzones, they are people like tamgros and taugrym - who both played on Adjunta Pal (My first server) or members of Mouretsu who the few remaining when RWZs were released, joined the sleens and went 90-2 in the first 2 weeks of RWZs, and beat the top guilds on 2 servers. These players rofl-stomp people regardless of if there's gear imbalance, or not, in a game. But if it makes you feel better about being a baddie, go ahead and keep lying to yourself about why people have left the game.
  16. OP Failed to realized that dude with 60k dmg in the warzone was either guarding a node, or playing hutt-ball
  17. Not sure who'd play my character, but the movie would be directed by Uwe Boll
  18. Sounds like a cry baby. Although I really liked the part about how he left a firm because of rumors that they were going to be downsizing, and even though he was making an excellent salary ( high six figures ) he negotiated a generous severance package... "Oh hai, i know that we're about to fire a bunch of people, so i'm leaving the company - but to get me to sign a severence package you're going to have to pay me a lot of money. That's OK, right? Hell What harm is there in adding another 10 names to the list of people being terminated."
  19. Him: "I couldn't pass the ball because i was knocked back twice, then stunned for 20 seconds" Me: "That's BS, 2 KBs and a stun = full resolve" Him: "Knock Backs don't affect resolve"
  20. You're right - I always thought it was in at launch, considering I was testing it a month before launch.
  21. Yup - because after checking out DDO and other F2P games, it's apparent that F2P = Free2Grind, and is a business tactic in the form of a drug dealer's "The first hit is on us", and I played LOTRO for the lore/world that was created, but F2P changed that - it's become a fluff centric game, and changing the quest rewards was the first sign of that. Shadows of Angmar released with Helegrod, so you may want to have your facts straight before accusing others of providing misinformation.
  22. http://i.imgur.com/IOKXg.jpg Earned that during beta, had a lifetime sub to the game and played it religiously for years. Once F2P was announced, i was invited into the beta and spent about 1 hour testing the F2P beta. The first thing that struck me is that quest rewards were placed above the quest text, whereas for years they were at the bottom of the quest text. This indicated that the game developers were changing the focus of the game from LOTR lore, to shiney things. I sold my account and haven't looked back. When a game has 500k subs paying $15/month, that's a monthly revenue of 7.5 million dollars, which is enough to maintain the operations of a company with 150 employees, and produce plenty of new content for their subscribers. F2P - no matter how it's sparkled up by a marketing team - is nickle and diming customers for biggest profit margin a game can make. To me, this shows that a company's resources will be more focused on how-to make money, then how-to make a good game. We've already seen this in SWTOR, as if F2P is coming "in the Fall" then it's a month or two away from being released. Those that were playing LOTRO know that it took Turbine almost six months to convert LOTRO to F2P - and that is with already having the experience of doing it with the same engine and DDO. This means that EA/BW have been diverting development resources to converting SWTOR to F2P for awhile now. I would be willing to bet that's the reason RWZs were pulled at the last minute in 1.2 - to use them as the "Feature" for the 1.3 release - and also why 1.3 was such a small update. When the game launched we saw 1.1 a month after launch, then a few minor tweaks/updates until 1.2 was released with a sizable content update, and a couple of bug fix patches until 1.3 came out. 1.3 was full of nothing. It had ranked wzs, the lfg tool and minor balance changes, because instead of listening to their customers and focusing on their customer's desires, the company focused on how-to maximize profits with the least amount of work possible. I'm done with SWTOR - my sub's up in 2 weeks, and i'll never look back. It's really a shame too as this game had a wealth of potential 8 months ago, and if the company had listened to their customers, listened to feedback from the PTS, and cared about providing a excellent game - it would have 3+ million subscribers right now.
  23. This has been going on the bastion for 2 weeks.
