  1. Warmonger is not recommended for PVE - how often do you jump around in a boss fight? I assume you might use it for a very specific reason; maybe if you are tanking Kephess on Brontes NiM. But then you can always reset Force Charge with Force Push and / or Intercede back or even kite Kephess back to Brontes after he jumps. I don't know, I've never specced into it for PVE. Vicious Retaliation will basically make you unkillable for the duration of Saber Ward. More accuracy = less of your attacks miss = more DPS. Saber Reflect is too good of a DCD to use as a "mere" aggro builder (but yes I use AOE-taunt + Saber Reflect on Bestia NiM to pick up all the larva and stop them from running amok). For most of the boss fights, you can't really afford to blow all your taunts at the start since you will be needing them for mechanics. A good example of timing / spreading out your taunts and DCDs was if you were maintanking Draxus NiM pre-nerf as you couldn't blow your AOE-taunt or Saber Reflect at the pull since you needed them for the Subteroths.
  2. Standard build for raiding (36/10/0): http://www.swtor-spy.com/skill-tree-calculator/juggernaut/10/?build=023202120212120220122100023000100302302000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000&ver=20 You can swap Vicious Retaliation with Rule of Two for heavy movement fights (Grob'thok NiM). 36/8/2 build for when there are tons of adds (Bestia NiM): http://www.swtor-spy.com/skill-tree-calculator/juggernaut/10/?build=023202120212120220122100023000100302300000000000000000000000000000200000000000000000000000000000&ver=20 The 3 points in Accuracy are a must. Nothing sucks more then to miss with a couple of attacks at the start of a pull. Juggernauts are special in the sense that power / strength buffs the shield that Force Scream gives. The shield from Force Scream is a vital part of a juggernauts defenses. The same thing goes for Enrage Defense. To take advantage of this you should run with Power Crystals in your MH / OH and might armorings on your bracers / belt / non-set piece. The most common mistake new juggernaut tanks do is to use Smash on CD followed / preceded by Force Scream - which leads them to run out of rage. The Revenge skill has a 50% to give you a Revenge stack when you parry, deflect, shield or resist an attack, which reduces the rage cost of your next Smash or Force Scream by 1. Basically what you want to do is to spread out Force Scream and Smash so that you have at least 2 stacks of Revenge before using them.
  3. I consider myself a ***** dps (tank is my main), and to give you a benchmark I'll post my numbers from my first DF NiM run as a dps. I was running Lethality Sniper on all fights. Nefra: 2.7-3k DPS (I was picking up the droid) Draxus: 2.8k-2.9k DPS Grob'thok: 3.1k - 3.4k DPS Corrupter: 2.7k - 2.9k DPS Brontes: Don't know. ^^ those numbers are really on the low end of the scale. The key in maximing DPS (from what I saw) in fights like Draxus (or mechanic / movement heavy fights) is to be a couple of steps ahead of the game. You need to know what will happen next and where you need to be before it happens. IE, on Draxus wave 5 (iirc) I know that I need to be on the right side on top of the Bulwark - and I move there towards the end of wave 4, so I'm in position and have precasted OS when the Bulwark spawns. Small things like that add up.
  4. We are looking for 1 NiM-ready DPS (preferably ranged) to supplement our progression team. Apply at http://www.heresy-gaming.com/recruitment.
  5. I think concealment is the best spec for leveling because it has good burst to kill mobs really fast. In lethality you need 3 GCDs (corrosive grenade -> dart -> weakening blast) to set up any decent damage which really sucks if you are clearing trash mobs.
  6. It's interesting to see logs from DP NiM. Does anyone have a log for a juggernaut that they might want to upload?
  7. PVP healing is mainly about being smart. Always keep on the move, stand close to LoS objects, keep your dots up and don't be in the middle of the fray (stay on the outer edges of the fight). You rarely have the time to get a hard cast off; a trick is to go Diagnostic Scan (80% of the opposing players will interrupt this as they see a channel) -> stim boost -> Injection / infusion -> EP spam -> RN. That will provide a decent burst heal.
  8. Basically get (1) DPS armorings for belt / bracers / non set piece, (2) might hilts and (3) power crystals. As mentioned above, strength and power buffs some of your defensive CDs. They key is to have enough HP to not getting one-shotted and then go strength.
  9. Also keep in mind that probably a lot of the premades are friends / guldies that run WZs while shooting the breeze on TS - joking around and having a fun time. Most of the time I PVP in a premade from my guild, and the objective has never been "lets farm these scrubs", but rather "lets have a good time". We loose some, and we win some - and that's how PVP should be.
  10. IIRC it removes the burn after the Thermal Detonator though.
  11. Excellent work as always KeyboardNinja! I've gone in with high absorb / shield on my jugg on Tyrans, but looking at your numbers - should I be going with defense since shock is the most frequent attack?
  12. <HERESY> has been on TRE since launch and, quite contrary to what some might believe / have heard, we are still around and doing NiM. We haven't been that active in the progression scene after DF NiM due to summer / vacation and guild clean-up (cutting loose some members that didn't fit in), but it should pick up again in August.
  13. Your order is correct, but I would suggest that you do the Belsavis planet quest as you get to meet the Dread Master for the first time.
  14. ^^ Same. Our assassin tanks the 2 adds and uses hybrid, while I'm on my PT (healing relic + hydraulics for kiting the monster to the tentacle). BTW, last night I had some bad rendering issues on this fight. The monster would spawn, I could see them and target them, then when they moved close to the Throne they disappeared entirely from my screen. I could still target them, but the distance to target kept fluctuating from anywhere between 2m to 40m+. I thought it was LoS issues with throne, but when I moved to the back of throne, they were not there. Anyone else have the same issue?
  15. This is what makes tanking fun. You need to keep track of: - Boss positioning - Mechanics - Your CDs - Your procs - Your buffs - Boss debuffs With the Flame Engine Proc you get (1) a huge red flame icon above your character, (2) a buff icon, (3) audio clue and (4) your CD on Flame Thrower resets. Thats 4 clues for 1 one proc. I don't know how you can miss it.
  16. After a hiatus from progression, we are back and got DP NiM 1/5. We are still looking for members for our second raid team.
  17. Juggernaut because: 1) Intercede (damage reduction) 2) AOE taunt (damage reduction + shield) 3) Force Push (push the attacker away from healer) 4) Force Choke + Backhand + the scream to stun (stun opponents) 5) Chilling scream (slow)
  18. Fair point. But it might give you time to get out of dodge when the sniper bang-rolls under the shield on Firebrand / Stormcaller.
  19. Heh if you want to PUG it, you better make sure that everyone is in 180 gear. The amount of derping I've seen in PUGs is unbelievable. Like on the first boss, the amount of people not using a med pack even though you've told them 5 times before hand is just ridiculous. I don't even want to think about PUGinng NIM Firebrand and Stormcaller.
  20. Valid point. Unless you PVP that is. If you augment your gear, you'll be like a god among mere mortals in lowbie PVP. It'll cost you some credits, but it sure is fun.
  21. In a pure tanking sense, I would say that juggernauts are better than the other tanks in PVP. You got multiple CDs, and intercede (damage reduction + self healing) and stuns etc. I think they bring much more utility in PVP than an assassin or PT.
  22. If the tank looses aggro on the boss (even for a second), it'll spawn additional adds.
  23. Sorry for my temporary brain fart. Close and personal + epheral mending looks like a winner then.
