  1. I totally agree, so far I have been using them to gear fresh 50's immediately. Reality is though, that gear becomes useless quickly and you get a lot from greed roles to begin with. I like the idea of trading up to BH comms, especially with the newly released Hazmat stuff. As for the daily comms, I think their idea is to make gear that is barely better stat wise and have is listed at an obscene price.
  2. Since I fall into the "first couple of posts" category, I offer you this: do not judge a book by its cover. How I respond on a forum and how I respond on the game itself could be (and definitely is) completely different. When you quote that WoW had missions that gave "pretty nice gear" through solo effort, is not at all the same as asking for the top tier in this game which has a limited amount. For one, I think you really do not understand what the gear is for to begin with. Top tier gear is literally designed to do the most extreme end game content for pve. Dread Guard gear is there to make Terror from Beyond an easier experience, even though no matter what the gear level you have you need to be on top of your game. PvP War Hero gear is there for the "snobby and hardcore" people to have something earned for their time invested. They give you plenty of solo ways to get some decent gear with farming chests on Tattooine or merely doing the daily quests for faster comms earned. Do you feel you are missing out on content because you cannot get such gear? The Story Mode levels of all content allow for you to enjoy the story experience without having to be totally precise with your game play. They have really tailored to all people's needs this way, as Story mode flashpoints are also easy to complete for the content. They give you a free full set of Recruit gear so that you are not at a total disadvantage when hitting level 50 if you would like to play with the full War Hero guys. But what you are asking for, is a single player content that allows access to top tier gear. Even if it is indirectly, you want comparable stats to the best gear in the game and for what? There is not one thing to do at level 50 on your own that requires the best gear to have. You are basically ripping on BioWare for the sole structure of their game. As for WoW doing this, how many different tiers of gear do they have by now? Dread Guard is not a month old, I believe Campaign is not even 6 months old. Instead of ripping on BioWare for creating what you call a generic MMO, you should search for something that meets your requests. Diablo 3 was a legitimate suggestion as it basically outlines your playing style, as does GW2 in its own way. But to look down on SWTOR, which has one of the single greatest single player experiences of any MMO today, for not offering the same rewards to single player people as the MMO style people the game was intended for is simply not fair. Everything you listed as being fun to do to you in your latest post, is the entire leveling experience of every character in the game which as I mentioned above is already very unique to swtor. Simply because it ends for now does not mean they do not plan to expand the single play story experience, but in no way should it offer you equality to the best gear in the game.
  3. You really should read more about updates in testing. They have a picture here of a hood toggle option. See what I did there?
  4. To even suggest that a player could or should get end game PvE or PvP gear by doing solo missions or objectives is not only naive, but simply stupid. MMO stands for Massively Multiplayer Online for a reason, to interact with groups of people and complete objectives as such. What makes SW:TOR so unique to other MMO games are the in depth story lines. These are simply a treat to players and not the driving experience to an MMO game, which this is. I for one can honestly say that if I could get Dread Guard gear on my own with my companion, I would quit this game. I think what you are looking for is more of a Diablo 3 experience. Single player play with small parties optional, and has the GTN you seem to love.
  5. Even though personally I don't care at all that the Voss Robes had their color changed, I have to admit I wondered as to why they did it. But it did make a little sense due to the fact that unifying the colors made everything blue. Good luck getting your money back though. Seriously, good luck.
  6. You are truly misinformed if you believe that HP is the sole best stat behind a tank. Sure, a tank that can take a lot of hits is always a good thing when there are so many different occasions that require your healers to move around. But the best tank stats are damage mitigation entirely. When it comes to stuff like this, Juggs are actually one of the better tanks in the game, even though as said they can be difficult to play correctly. When it comes to Juggernaut tanks, what you are looking for in terms of tanking stats are the 30/50/50 minimums. I am sure that if you have looked into tanking stats at all, you will have seen this somewhere. Of course you can always go higher than this, but this is the minimum to have for decent mitigation. What the 30/50/50 rule stands for is 30% defense chance, 50% shielding chance, and 50% absorption rating. These are all must haves. A tank that has even 5% less in all stats and has really high HP is no where near as good as this model. The more you get hit, the more of a heal sink you are which makes end game HM content a real drag on your healers. Juggs achieve this stat with just standard gearing, whereas an example of an Assassin tank, they need to regularly use an ability called Dark Ward which costs force to keep their shield chance about 50%. I have a sin tank, even with the campaign set bonus my Shield chance is as 40% without DW while Defense is 35 and absorption is 60. A sin that has 35/60/60 is pretty solid from my experience, and the Juggernauts when Min/max can achieve this same stat base. Powertechs on the other hand are all shield based, while they do have cd's that allow them to up their defense chance it really is all about how much damage they can absorb off of hits from what I have seen. Though I have yet to play the PT/Vanguard Tank. Bottom line, Juggs are really good tanks and one of the hardest to kill in end game raids. If you really feel like you suck compared to other tanks, you are doing something wrong. A High HP does not make a good tank. Jugg HP when Min/max 23-24k Sin HP Min Max 25-26k Neither of these are 32K + even with a rakata medpac
  7. Waiting for anything from BW is like waiting for a heart transplant. These ideas are things that people would like to see done in a timely manner rather than wait another 6 months. There is absolutely no reason that people should have to pay to wait, or be forced to roll on a different server and start anew. Great, they said they were going to give us more slots. Here is a list of ways you could give us new slots next week.
  8. I am sure that this has probably been said before, but I think it would be pretty cool if we could have more than 8 characters on one server. I am sure that only a choice few people have 8 geared level 50 characters and I am not one of them. But I do have quite a few geared characters and due to having to play certain roles in ops and what not, I have not been able to make one of every class. For example I do not have a sentinel/marauder and would like to have one, and a sorc rather than a sage. But at the same time I cannot see myself deleting any of the characters I have and I don't want to have to start from nothing on a different server. So I wanted to propose this. What if there was a "perk" that allowed you to have 9 characters on one server if you have legacy level 40, and 10 characters on the server if you have legacy level 50. I am confident in saying that if you have legacy level 50, you should be entitled to some kind of cool benefit like that as everything else is way below your level in terms of requirement. What do you guys think of this?
  9. Of all of the posts, Q&A's and blogs/videos I have never once heard that HK-51 was officially being released in 1.4 - it simply stated that the content was coming soon. In later interviews it was suggested that you would need a level 50 of one faction and a character that was at Hoth level wise for the other faction and would bee seen by the end of the year. That is it. As for the other content such as Makeb, the new FP, cartel coins, all of this was said to be coming this year as well. There are still 2 1/2 months left in the year. Instead of being sad panda that 1.4 is adding mass character changes, bug fixes, and a new operation you should be happy with the fact that over the next couple of months there are going to be a few big updates and new content. As for the credibility of the devs at this point, I truly understand that you can take anything they say with a grain of salt. The reality is yes, this game was released a year early and yes they have been playing catch up. The reality also is, this game is something that hundreds of thousands of people pay top dollar for to play. There is absolutely no excuse for some of the obvious shortcuts they have taken. A perfect example would be Ashara, the sith inquisitors companion, and her "grey suit" skin. That said, this is an amazing game and I will continue to keep paying for a sub. Though I do promise this as well, if we do not see ALL of the content you have teased us with by the end of the year then I am out. Because that will be a true dent to the credibility of the dev team and its marketing. Also, if for any reason this new content is going to come in a form of an expansion pack after the game goes free to play and we have to purchase it... I am going to blow my Collector's Edition up.
  10. I like pretty much everything that I have read so far. Though I am a little sad that the new armor looks the same and that the PvE relics being released are really far from an upgrade over campaign now. I do however wonder about the Cathar race being released? I know out of all of this, that is really the last thing that is a big concern. It's just, more than anything for me I am looking forward to leveling one of my last 50's as a cathar so I find myself really looking forward to it. I didn't see a mention of that, or the cartel coin thing. Any news on that at all? EDIT: Also with the modifiable off-hands, can you go into a little more depth on that? Will all BH/Camp ones become modifiable and if so do they get an armor piece put into them? I want to know if I need to go drop a million to get some armor pieces that will go into them or if they will be good to go from the start. If they do have new mods put into them, will the reflect the current gear and have improved stats or will the mods seem lame and retain the stats the OH offers now?
  11. I wont call you a liar because perhaps they actually did do this for your server, but for The Harbinger we did not get any notice at all. I am going to use the multiple threads and few hundred posts as my proof.
  12. Yeah, just seems like such a waste though. If I had known that I would not have dropped my cybertech, having cleared the new ops and nightmare modes I lost a lot of schematics.
  13. I hate to double post, but I did not want to post this in via an edit. I believe this is what my guildie was referring to: http://www.swtor.com/de/community/showthread.php?t=427869 In which case from what I can gather from other sources, they do not plan to remove the re-usable items but never update them in new content... Seeing as they already received a full blown nerf in 1.1 it seems a little cruel to refuse to update them. I understand the argument and concern BW has, just seems like such a waste.
  14. I have been searching for info on what he was talking about, but can find nothing recent. I found info on the Rakata pieces being nerfed in power back in February to match Energized stims. I am aware of the Single use medpac, but the thought of them removing these is disturbing seeing as they are the single reason I am leveling this. It costs a fortune to get prototype stims all the time.
  15. This might sound like a stupid question, but it is something that really concerns me. I just deleted my Cybertech profession to pick up Biochem for tanking. I am at roughly 150 in my crafting and gathering skills and a guild mate told me that they are either removing or nerfing the Rakata Medpac and Stim that you can make for end game. Is this true? I have not heard anything about this before. If you know anything can you please post details and links to quotes.
  16. You have to admit, he has a point. I didn't read anything except the red part because it was quite obvious. In response to the one part I read, I agree server merges ftw.
  17. The cross faction mail is good to know, I stopped playing my pub toon simply because I was tired of doing Nar Shaddaa trading. I will be sure to pick back up on it.
  18. Yes please. I would also be interested in hearing about this. Having the whole server using a unified GTN would be very nice. Though if they were to do that then I would hope that they allow cross faction mail between your own toons. Unless they have already allowed that and I am just behind on the times.
  19. A Tauntaun pet for 200k is the worst credit sink I have ever seen. Having a high legacy and getting repeat access to the same abilities is virtually pointless. They need to add something to the CE vendor that is actually worth something. A crystal vendor much like the one everyone had access to before 1.2 would be more than amazing. Put everything in except for a white crystal and I would no longer feel like this is a total waste.
  20. My rig is quite powerful and up to date on drivers, I find that when I turn on the enhance graphics I drop a moderate amount of DPS even for a minimal amount of graphical gain. I think that it has to be some sort of server lag. Turning off the the enhanced graphics seems to help slightly but I am quite certain I should be running this completely maxed with no problems whatsoever.
  21. You feel disappointed with the extras that you received with the digital deluxe edition? Think of how the Collector's Edition people feel. We paid $160 and got a plastic statue... The only people that have gotten any form of updated gear are the pre-order people with their silly yellow and black crystals. If I could go back in time I would just have ordered the regular one. Unless BioWare actually announce that they are going to add something besides an overpriced set of orange gear that is hideous on the republic side.
