  1. I would like to see a perk that comes in for extreme players. Not just targeting sub players, but people who have been here for quite a bit that have invested true time into the game. An example of an extreme perk would be something such as being allowed to have permanent double XP for a character after having legacy level 50 and having legacy perks done for the Imperial/republic side classes. This means having reached level 50, completing the story, and having gained max affection with all companions on one or both factions. This would be an optional perk for those who want to have more characters and have beaten the content before.
  2. I actually just picked up WoW a month or so ago. So far I like it, but leveling is not really a grind because I have the triple xp from the invite a friend perk. I miss the story style of SWTOR, but I level so fast atm that it would only hold me back.
  3. I would have made another exclusive Taun Taun pet. They have already had many different exclusive ones including going to the real life cantina events and buying the collector edition.
  4. I don't know if anyone recalls but there actually was a time in this game that a patch made it so people could not log into the game. That was cool. Also, it was not fixed in a timely manner.
  5. I have no problem with it being on the CM. I have a problem that the credit version has a legacy level requirement and the CM one does not. That is total crap. Either both of them have a level requirement or neither do. Favoring people who throw money at them is unacceptable. And to say that their are few people who have that legacy level is only stating the fact that hardly any original players still play this game. I have had legacy level 50 for well over a year, and it was easy to get then with half the content that is available now.
  6. I really could not agree more with a lot of what they have said in that episode, mainly from Laura's point of view. I have played since launch and overall this has been the greatest gaming experience of my life and I played some great games in their prime. But I can honestly say the Cartel Market is insulting to people who sub to this game. I was so happy when I heard that the new companion was going to require level 40 legacy. Finally something to reward the people who have invested real time into your game. But no, you greedy bastards decided that if you can get real money you don't want to cut off the flow of your gold streets. I'm done, that was the straw that broke the camels back. P.S. - When a show that is about your game brings up another title in examples to improve (Guild Wars 2, a true F2P experience) you should get your act together.
  7. That awkward moment when they finally give a time for the release after fearing to do it, because they expect to not meet that time. Then failing to meet that time. Then the reason for failing to meet that time, because of a crummy achievement system implemented before server transfers... It would be HILARIOUS if it were not so sad. The cartel market and cartel coins are a joke.
  8. This ^ Rested XP is locked during Double XP weekends, so you really only receive the 135% mentioned. What makes double XP weekend a good event is that it doubles XP gained from all sources, such as mission turn ins and PvP. Whereas rested only gives XP on things killed. I am going to attempt to get 4 toons from 30 to 55, as I am leveling them all at once. But I am not really in too much of a hurry seeing as the following two weekends will also hold double XP. That ends July 8th I believe? Aside from that, if I actually do get those characters done and have a free weekend, I will want to level a Shadow. My favorite advanced class and I cannot stand the Inquisitor story even though the voice acting is amazing. Also, live long and prosper? Damn, I had no idea Spock played swtor!
  9. Awesome, just found that post. Thanks for the update, look forward to the fix.
  10. I have had the Supreme Inquisitor's Robe for quite some time now being used with the Inquisitor's Exalted Headgear for an almost Dr. Doom look in appearance. This was one of few chest pieces where the hood actually went over the helmet. Now with this patch it randomly stopped showing the hood? Normally I am not one to ***** about looks in the game, I didn't really care about the changes to Cartel Gear when people wanted the Classic items back. But I spent a FORTUNE on this look, and have absolutely no idea why it would change now. I am hoping that in whatever patch comes next, there is a fix to this small bug. This look is awful now and it really bugs me as there was absolutely no reason to change it.
  11. The last 10+ posts of this question have probably been some of the most idiotic things I have ever read. That said I will address the OP. In blogs and dev posts it has been said that character transfers for purchase are in the works, but at this moment do not take a high priority on what they are trying to do with the game. There is no ETA on the option yet, but I am sure they will get to it within this year. I personally would be interested in character transfers depending on what they do with the legacy. I have a level 50 legacy and don't really want to have to start all over on a different server even if I do have a 50. Edit: I am not crazy. I think a mod removed all of the posts before my own haha.
  12. The original poster is correct, and the people using the 50/50 coin flip explanation need to actually read it. The two ways of looking at this both hold truth, which is why it is easy to get sucked into one view of looking at it because you understand it and it mathematically makes sense. OP is saying, that if you buy 100 packs, and all packs contain a 1% chance of having something rare and of value in it, no matter the fact that you have 100 packs you still have a 1% chance of getting something. The reason for this is as he explained. If you have a 1% chance (one blue ball and 99 white balls) and each pack is an individual event (each pack will have 1% chance no matter the amount you purchase) the odds will be significantly stacked against you. This math is true simply due to the fact that each pack registers as an individual event and not a group. The other argument here is that if you have a 1% chance and you buy 100 packs, your chance of getting something rare goes up significantly simply due to the amount of tries that you have. This is true as well, when dealing with odds anything that offers an extreme multiple of tries is typically a safe bet. I.E with the coin toss. If given 100 tosses and you only had to get heads ONE time, it is very likely that you will get heads once and win the bet. The reason this is true is because this is a group outcome. The 100 flips are grouped to where you only need to win one time. This is the FLAWED view. The reasoning behind the second view being flawed is basically how you understand it. Buying a TON of packs gives you the ability to roll the dice a lot of times. In no way does it affect that outcome of the dice. Simply saying "If I roll 100 times snake eyes HAS to come up" is flawed. It does NOT have to come up. The fact that you roll 100 times does beat 1 time, but the overall percentage of the drop remains unchanged. Bottom line mathematically: 1 pack has the EXACT SAME percentage of a chance to get a rare as 100 packs. Buying 100 packs does NOT offer a higher percentage to get something, rather than it offers more attempts to get a desired outcome. The same is true with RE, 20% chance to RE mathematically means that you could play the entire life time of the game and never learn the schematic. EDIT: Another way to look at why reason 2 is flawed is this. The heads/tails math was: 1 Flip has the outcome of 1.H or 2.T 2 Flips has the outcome of 1.HH 2.HT 3.TH or 4. TT The logic behind this is sound, and would be true even with the problem of low percentages. The problem, as stated by the OP of this formula, is the fact that heads is always present in the equation as a 50% chance and the values we are dealing with in cartel packs is far lower. The math is totally true, and with more flips comes a higher percentage of reaching a desired outcome as stated above. The problem is the grab bag part of this. Imagine it like this: There are 100 grab bags on a table. Each of them has a set value, as the bag has already been filled with the items it will drop. Inside one of these bags is a key to a brand new mercedes. The bags cost $1000 each. The temptation is you can get a brand new car for $1000 instead of $50000. The key is only in 1 bag, so you decide to wait until there are only 10 bags left and no one has gotten the key. You then buy the 10 bags because one HAS to have the key. But that is not how grab bags work, this is how they work. There are still 100 bags, and people are buying them left and right. However, every single time one bag is sold, the entire table of bags is dumped into a box. One bag without a key is added to the box, then they are all put back on the table. Your chances of finding that one bag are still 1% and will NEVER increase no matter how many you buy. This is the individual event. Just because there is a 1% chance, does not mean that the rare item is ever present. It is just there somewhere. But now you might be thinking: why not buy all 100 bags at one time? Well there are 2 reasons to that. One is, why spend $100,000 to win a $50,000 car. And also you are thinking that by getting all 100 bags at once you have a 100% chance now. If the value of total bags was 100, then yes. But imagine it as if, even though you get 100 packs they still take all of the bags off of the table and replace one for each of the 100 times. The value of cartel packs are infinite. You cannot buy all the cartel packs. You can never have more than a 1% chance.
  13. I can accept the shame on my country, I don't really like it anyways. My country produced smash noobs </3
  14. But I did not start/write this post about moaning. I don't think anyone really read what I wrote originally at this point anyways.
  15. Well if you are going to call someone out, at least get it right. I moaned about one individual spec. I never said that I have not moaned about it either, so I am not entirely sure what your post is even getting at.
  16. To some extent I agree with the OP. Good players will always be good and there is really nothing you can do about it other than improve your own skills. That said, even horrible players hit too hard in Smash. Stun bubbles are fine, Sin hybrids are fine, smash monkeys not so much. The combination of snare from leaps, AE stuns, and auto crits just gets old. Marauders with their undying rage and stealth out are just icing on that cake. The class is pretty OP atm, I am not saying you cannot beat it and that it needs to be completely nerfed, but I would not complain if it was toned down a little.
  17. So I understand that this chest piece recently "bugged" to where it has a different look now. Before it used to be sleek and have no hood, now it has a hood and these shoulder pads with red lights in them. My question is, is this a bug or is it intended? I have a friend who is upset at this change and would like it restored to the way that it was, however I just bought the item for the hood and shoulder look and would be upset if it were restored. I have not bound it yet, so I was wondering if there is any news on if this is going to be changed back like the Voss robes? If so I will try to unload it now. Or will it remain this way?
  18. Just on a side note. Do you think that the emoticons are what are causing these glitches/bugs/performance issues? Would taking them out and adding HK-51 be a potential fix?
  19. Just a thought, am I the only one that noticed that "internal process" reference? In almost every single ticket I have submitted with one issue or the other that was declined, when asked why this same "internal process" came up as the reasoning. I would LOVE to get a whole and detailed list of all internal processes that are used to enforce the policies you stand by. Just saying. Thanks for the post back from the community manager, thanks for the heads up.
  20. When this game came out, I would have given it a 7/10. Awesome universe to play in (who doesn't like Star Wars??) and plenty of content. Though the signs of the rush were present, things were polished and some content had nasty bugs (Soa anyone?). 6 months into it, 9/10 - Content was coming out somewhat quickly, bugs were being fixed in a timely fashion and promises of new content were all over the place. I spent a ton of my free time here and loved every second of it. Today, a sad 6/10 - Super Servers are a sad way of saying that the population is dropping like a brick, my own guild was an example having 100 active members + alts down to 10-15 during peak hours. Glitches from the long awaited content make it very difficult to play. All that people talk about is F2P which I think can be both good and bad, but no official talki about the other content that was said to be "soon" or by the end of the year. I really like this game, it is one of the few PC games I play and the only MMO I have ever enjoyed. I just have to admit that the state it is in atm is a sad affair. I still enjoy my time here so don't get me wrong. I just have to admit that if we do not see all of the content that was promised to be here by the end of the year, I will stop playing for a few months and let them actually do that.
  21. To be fair can you call grouping a bias in an MMO? MMO by definition is group play. Sure they may add events that give special gear to single player people but should that gear be equal or even on the same level as gear earned in group play? What you are looking for is what your thread title implies, and online RPG. Not a MM Online RPG. Which brings me to what my point was. Is it fair to bring down BioWare for doing it the "generic" way? From my experiences, MMO games are a grind once you get to the end game. The change you are asking for is not totally fair to the people that earned the gear the way it was intended. I would have no qualms in being able to purchase a version of gear comparable to Columi for some sort of comms such as Dailies. To get any gear comparable to what people have to work at endlessly is just not realistic. A point of it not being realistic: if you could get the same level of gear from HM TfB doing dailies would you bang your head on the KB wiping or do it on your own the "easy" way. No one would have unique gear, finding groups for the hardest difficulty would be near impossible, and it takes out the entire end game time sink. Whereas a game like Diablo 3 will let you progress through the majority of it's content. Some of it being very challenging, and allowing you to progress through it on different difficulties as your gear advance. This doesn't affect others as it would on SWTOR. It is just not its design. Someday they might have an event that allows you to get decent gear on your own, but it will still not be top tier. To say the game is worse off for it though... no way. I hate to mention D3 so often because I don't even play that game anymore, but what you are looking for is a different play style. To ask them to incorporate that into this system would have nasty backlashes.
  22. Thanks for that link, I ended up seeing some real life cantina tour info. I had no idea about that and it will be in my state in January. Looks interesting. Sorry for being off topic, excellent post.
  23. But luckily it is the forums that keep you occupied, to spread relevance and insight.
