  1. I have access to Darth Hexid but not to her recruitment mission. I did not think there was one until it appeared on my Alerts when I was looking at the list of my companions. I did not immediately accept the mission as I was doing something else and now it has disappeared. 1. I have the achievement completed 2. I received and used the item to summon her before I had completed the KOTET 3. I see her stading around in my alliance base When I have a conversation with her at the alliance base I will see the dialogue but I wont have an option to invite her to join the alliance. Some things I've done: I've tried logging out an in, hitting ctrl+u, reseting the phases for flashpoints to get that recruitment mission to show back up on alerts. I am confused and lost as to what to do if anything at all.

    Eyes

I am comforted to know I am not the only one upset about this unintentional change. I logged off before the last patch in November with my Zabrak having yellow eyes and when I logged back in a few days ago this same character had bright blue eyes. It was disorienting and I did not know what to make of it. It may sound odd but the way I enjoy playing this game is heavily influenced by the color of my characters eyes. Right now I am playing this character with a helmet and though I find it satisfactory I can tell the novelty will wear off soon. If I get bored of seeing my character with a helmet on all the time I will probably unsub and return at a later time.
  3. My first choice was body type 3 because i thought Tall and muscular would fit what i wanted my trooper to look like. But then next to his companions and other NPC who were average my character looked like some giant. So i remade him with body type 4 and ive never looked back =]
  4. I bought the game and played for 30 days and tonight it ends. Here is my experience for any developer or fan who would like to read. Spoilers ahead. Info about me: Mid 20s Favorite MMOs: WoW(currently unsubscribed), Lotro, Champions Online, Global Agenda If i could be any animal: A turtle I enjoy to be swept away by games. To dive in and be immersed by its world and mechanics but most of all its Lore/Story. The focus on personal story and the tool the developers were using to deliver it (voice acting) was what sold me. This combined with the "choice wheel" gave me an experience i have never had before. I became more invested in my character here on SWTOR than with the one i had on another MMO i played for four years. But most important of all the story was impacting my life. What i mean is that decisions i was making in the game were making me wonder about myself (on my main i try to answer as if i were in that position). Two examples are first on the Esseles when i must make a decision to either sacrifice the engineering crew or risk losing the bridge. The second is when i must choose between saving a fellow soldier i had worked with and established a friendship of sorts or saving many POWs. At first the decisions seemed easy enough to make in my eyes but when certain elements were added my perspective changed and i started making decisions that taught me new things about myself. The choice to save hundreds of POWs became increasingly difficult to make when the voice of that single soldier begging for her life echoed in my head. I can't go back and make another choice so the decision i made stayed with me. This is what i look for in games, not just plain old fashion fun, but a way to experience things and learn. For this i raise my cup to you SWTOR developers. I also enjoyed being able to play a soldier even though it may not be the most accurate depiction of military protocols/life. Shooting a rifle or minigun in a MMORPG i feared was only to be found in Global Agenda but i am glad i found that joy here. The Companion system was so good i am afraid what will happen when i play another game without it. In addition being able to form relationships/friendships with said companions was a fun experience in itself. I enjoyed many details like the Galaxy map, the Codex (bravo!), bonuses to quests, 3D armor, and many other small things. After all this my biggest disappointment with the game comes down to lack of features that i personally can not go without. To list a few: Appearance tab, dye system, barber shop, more thorough character creator, housing and other RP tools. These may very well be added in the coming months but they are not in the game now when i am playing. And when i do not consider myself a Star Wars fan by any means it is very hard to justify the $15 a month for a game that does not have everything i like (when there are others that do). And of course these features may never be added in. If you are interested in understanding my train of thought about my disappointments further please visit Dreossk's thread http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=216855 and Ajediknight's thread http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=279980 I support them and appreciate their efforts for putting how i and many other players feel into words more appropriately than i could =] Thank you for this wonderful game that was fun while it lasted for me. If you were to ask me (and i think you did via survey) if i see myself resubscribing in the future, i would say Yes.
  5. I'll give you my reasons. I play the Republic for the following: 1. Trooper Class. First time in a MMO that my character has been an enlisted soldier. I am usually the "hero" who helps a military force or something of the like. Ive never been in the actual organization and given a squad and rank. While the SWTOR experience is inaccurate to actual military protocol it gets the general feeling down pretty well in my opinion. 2. Choices and Conflicts Its surprisingly good. My character is dedicated to the Republic but constantly runs into corrupt officials in the senate and even in his own military (and im not just talking about the old Havoc squad). He also has to deal with politics and bureaucracy which involves compromising ideals in order to do some kind of "greater good". The Republic is far from being the "good guys". 3. Personally i like being a bad "good guy" than a bad "bad guy". I'll stop here but before i do i would like to add that there is a lot i would like to change about the Republic which others have mentioned. For example our "faction leader" seems to be Satele Shan who is the leader of the Jedi Council but to me (a trooper) she is just another jedi. I would prefer to have the Chancellor of the Senate as leader but i do not think i have ever seen him. Another thingi would like improved is the overall style/aesthetics of the Republic, namely the space station.
  6. As far as priorities go how do the developers of SWTOR feel about character customization such as: Appearance Tab Dye system Barber shop etc Will we be seeing popular features like these in game and perhaps so new and never before seen tools that will allow us to work on our characters in ways that do not involve your typical "end game"?
  7. Ya i was swept away by the quest i was on, Jaxo's life was in my hands and i see in my chat box that the game is going to go down in 15 min. Its not Tues morning so i cant believe they are taking the servers down again! What happen in less than 48 hours that must absolutely be fixed??? JAXO WAIT FOR ME!!!!!
  8. While leveling up i often feel that the planets i visit seem very small. The areas i visit are beautiful, well done and i enjoy them but they feel like what they are, just small areas. Areas which can very well be put together with others and no one would know better. For example i spent very little time on Quesh compared to other "planets". But to me it feels like Quesh could have just been the forest area of the Narshaddaa moon. I am in Belsavis right now but it feels like it could have just been a spot on the planet Hoth. Taris could have been a small area on Coruscant that was abandoned for X reason. Ord Mantell where my trooper started off could have been a spot on any other planet and no one of have known better. Was there a need to make so many planets if A. we only experience a small area worth of content in them B. There are striking resemblances between them (Belsavis/Hoth and Quesh/Narshaddaa)
  9. How about the ability to make your character jump? I would call that a feature that is so popular in MMOs such words as "basic" and "fundamental" come to mind. How about /dance, friend lists, guilds, mini maps etc Are you understanding that these features are so popular that they become to players "basic" features? I hope you can understand that idea. Well today Dungeon Finder tools have become incredibly popular. Guild Tabards/cloaks or some other way to represent your guild via your character are popular. Detailed in depth character creators have become popular. Barber shops have become popular. All these have been praised in other MMOs so much it is mind boggling when another MMO comes out and thinks it can beat the competition without including them. I am not waiting years for SWTOR to catch up.
  10. I will allow bugs and performance issues as long as those are ironed out in time. What i will not tolerate in a game i subscribe too is not finding features that i consider "fundamental". Because this game is new am i suppose to wait 4-5 years for a Dungeon Finder tool? Because this game is new am i suppose to wait 6-7 years for an Appearance Tab feature? Both Tera and GW2 are launching with popular features of other games already installed (appearance tab, etc) AND their new and unique features. This is a 2012 game, it needs to launch with the standard features otherwise why play it?
  11. No, i do not like SWTOR in it's current state. I think my feelings were best summarized by Dreossk in his thread http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=216855 -Dead world -Exploration -Day/night cycle -Dynamic weather -Environment interaction, social activites & RP -Interface & graphics -Character (character creation/appearance tab) -Endgame -Housing In a nut shell this game is lacking fundamental features. Edit: changed color of answer
  12. Massively.com which is a blog dedicated to news/articles about MMOs held its on awards which were decided by their staff. They awarded SWTOR with "Game of the Year 2011" which was a shock to me since it only had been out for 12 days and had beaten competitors like Rift who had a strong presence that year. Now they won an award from a legit (more or less) business? Its hype has gone into obsession mode. It has not proven itself to be anything yet. In fact the only thing it has proven to this point is that it can launch...which is nothing special cause other MMOs have been launching for decades.
  13. I am one of those players that expect it. I fully understand that other MMOs have several years under their belt which they have used wisely to fix major bugs, balance issues and implement new features. But you see the features that Dreossk listed are not new. SWTOR has several MMORPGs to learn from not to mention its predecessor Star Wars Galaxies. How could they purposefully exclude some of the most popular features of other MMOs from their new title? I am not going to stay subscribed to game with some vain hope that it will catch up to the other MMOs in the next 5(lotro) or 7(WoW) years. For now i will go back to the games that are providing me with the tools i expect from a good MMO to have a fun experience. Then later this year i will buy the two new MMOs that at launch will provide me with not only the popular features of other MMOs but with their own original features as well.
  14. I paid attention to it. And now i cant stop paying attention to how it does not exist in SWTOR.
  15. I like puzzles. In games like Soul Reaver, Silent Hill, and original Resident Evil games it wasnt just about shooting and killing. There were puzzles to solve. I would try to implement quests that involved that. Also i would create quests that can be completed in several different ways. Say there is a quest to kill commando main boss and his two sith body guards. They are located in a well defended building. Well i would design it so that there are multiple ways of getting in and killing the target. 1. you can shot your way in through the front door. 2. you can find a way onto the roof and descend in. 3. you can bribe one of the enemy leaders to sneak you in etc Each option would also require different challenges. option 1 obviously has the challenge of killing multiple groups of enemies. option 2 would require you to also turn off alarms and security systems inside the building and option 3 would require you to actually spend credits and risk being turned on... This way there is not just "the easy way" but 3 ways to accomplish a mission. These are just some ideas of mine.
