  1. 1. Mercenary is a fun class imo, especially for PvP. The bounty hunter story is boring the first two chapters, but chapter three is pretty good. 2. Guardian/Jug tanking is probably the most fun out of the three in my opinion. Gear wise you would want to get your defence chance up to around 14-15% and then rest in shield/absorb. Im sure the numbers for pve might scale a bit higher. 3. Vanguard story bored me to death, I gave up on it shortly after chapter one. 4. Shadow story starts getting better after chapter 1. Its my third favorite after the Inquisitor and Warrior stories. Definitely worth checking out. As for the force management, it sucks while leveling, but when you get to 55 you'll notice its easier to manage force. 5. Yes, DPS sage is a viable option for PvE, both specs are really nice right now. 6. I'm actually working on my sniper next, but so far its been fine. 7. Did the slinger story, didnt care for it. Only completed chapter 2 so I could get the legacy buff. It is a fun class to play though, which is why I got mine to max level. 8. Its not impossible to level as a healer scoundrel, but it might be faster doing so. That being said I didn't do much fighting when leveling my shadow/sin since I skipped most mobs with stealth. I would imagine scoundrels being the same. 9. The assassin story is my favorite in the game. It gets way better after chapter 1, trust me. The finale is amazing.
  2. It would probably be best to buy the level 50 gear for himself and companion seeing as how it is cheaper, and let the Makeb bolster do the rest.
  3. Assuming you completed the endgame content at the time 50 was the cap, Makeb would be next in line followed by Oricon, and then the Forged Alliances storyline which leads up to December's expansion.
  4. No, preferred can run as many flashpoints as they like. They have normal rolls for 3 rolls total, after that they have to wait for the next week. The rate is reset every week, though I am not exactly sure if the reset is tuesdays. I think I have noticed my warzone limit reset on the weekends back when I was preferred for a bit.
  5. Get to 55 and run the Oricon planet questline, which will give you a full set of entry level PvE gear. If you PvP, then just queue for reg wzs, you will be bolstered to a moderately competent level of gear in the warzone.
  6. PvP comms are staying the same. This was confirmed by Eric Musco earlier today
  7. I Imagine those would work the same as PvP comms seeing as how they purchase materials, gear, and decorations as well. So you want these "people" to be both under-geared and clueless? I'll never understand why PvEers whine about how fast other people gear up.
  8. This sounded a little odd to me as well but if you paid attention you would notice that this is more for PvP than PvE. That being said, I still don't like the idea of having taunts miss in PvP.
  9. Noticed that as well, though in my opinion its better to head to makeb when 47 since the planet has bolster.
  10. First make sure you manually lower each setting and don't use the preset to lower them all at once. For some reason despite using the preset I still got the same frame rate issues, changed when I went in and did it manually. Second, fraps would occasionally cause me to have framerate issues when I used to record matches. it didn't happen all the time, but when I did, I would immediately close the program and notice an instant return to my normal fps. You could be experiencing the same issue if your running fraps while pvping.
  11. This. Especially for s-key users.
  12. What gives you the impression that deception got nerfed "HARD" for 3.0?
  13. And another fair point to make is that PvE can craft their gear (Though recently from what I understand this has been limited mildly on the top tier gear), PvP cannot craft gear in any way shape or form.
  14. Guild repairs are not necessary to the existence of a guild or their participation in end game activities. Players should be paying for their own repairs, period. Guild tabs again, are not necessary for a guild's existence. That being said, two tabs should cost roughly 1.6 mil, if you have to tax your way to that amount of credits your doing it wrong. Flagship is the only guild feature that is required to participate in a segment of a game event, this one being Conquest (there are personal conquests out there for those who do not have guilds or a ship). If a guild has enough members to be able to post on the conquest leaderboards, it should not be difficult for them to grind the 50 mil credits needed for the ship's purchase. Small guilds, while they may want to have a ship, do not actually NEED them, as they won't be able to compete with the larger guilds that dominate the leaderboards. As I am sure is common knowledge by now, if you don't post in the top 10 of a planet you don't get the guild rewards. If you don't post in the first spot you don't get your conq title.
  15. I would have expected every guild that wanted to have a guild ship and put forth an effort into attaining one would have it by now. Cash prize events are optional, and should be funded by donations, not forcing everyone in a guild to pay into it. The point I am trying to make is that there is no cost or fee outside of the guildship, (which tbh is not difficult to grind or craft your way to 50 mil creds with a few guildees) that would hinder you or anyone from experiencing the game's content. Guilds have survived this long without taxes. I'd say that is evidence enough that this system is not needed.
  16. You are right, credits are easy to grind. Any competent player at max level should be able to support their own repair costs (if a PvEer), nano stims, and gear. Why do you feel guilds are dependent on donations? For what exactly? I was a GM for over a year. Outside of purchasing two guild tabs with my own funds, there was nothing we needed additional credits for. All of my raiders and pvpers were self sustainable. This is beginning to sound like an overreaching GM looking to get paid if you ask me.
  17. And what would a guild bank need 7.5 mil for anyways? Guilds who really wanted a ship/stronghold should already have them by now. I'm just not seeing the need for so many credits in a guildbank.
  18. A revelation that leads such commandos to queue up in their 41k hp gear for pvp, looking for some place to be accepted! Now I understand.
  19. Your comparing apples and oranges.
  20. I would be very surprised if they wiped PvP comms as they are used from levels 10-55 (soon to be 60) on various items such as lockboxes, decorations, crystals, materials, pets, speeders, medpacs, adrenals, etc, and not solely on gear as the endgame pve comms are. In addition PvPers have to turn in armor shells to progress from the base tier to top tier gear, a restriction PvE does not currently have.
  21. Take a deep breath OP, everything will be ok. Now I want you to find the ESC key on your keyboard and poke it like it owes you money. Problem solved.
  22. What in the hell would a guild need to have a fee for? other than buying a guild bank which is about 1.6 mil for two tabs from what I remember, I don't see any reason for guilds to be charging people for anything. Sounds like someone wants to line their pockets on the backs of their guildees. As noted above, such a system would be exploited to no end by large guilds.
  23. This will never happen for obvious reasons. Just because I don't see someone log in to the game for a while doesn't mean they have quit or unsubbed. They could be playing on other characters or another server for that matter. Regardless, that doesn't give me the right to take their name because I feel it isn't being used properly. If a name I wanted to use is taken I move on and find another, not creepily stalk them for months to see if they log in or not. Character names are not that big of a deal.
  24. Because we PvPers have to turn in shells before getting the actual top tier gear, thus requiring us to purchase the base tier of gear. PvEers can just store up comms or even carry their buddies in ops to top tier pve gear, eliminating several tiers in the process. Another reason is that ranked and reg warzone comms are not used exclusively for gear as the endgame PvE comms are. They are used for buying materials, lockboxes, vehicles, pets, lightsaber crystals, medpacs, adrenals, decorations, etc. PvP comms are also used from level 10-55, unlike PvP which has sub 55 comms and endgame comms separated.
  25. Seriously there is no justification for taxes in a damn video game. If your poor in game (how?, credits are literally thrown at you in this game) then do dailies or craft. Don't try to be a taker and expect to leech off of others' hard earned credits. Even if the devs are convinced to adopt this system, I am willing to bet you a healthy majority of players will not stick around in a guild that collects taxes on their credit intake.
