  1. Not sure why it didn't post my reply but I found this fix (I tried the alt+enter and it worked) and it worked on the first try. http://answers.ea.com/t5/STAR-WARS-The-Old-Republic/Guide-Game-failing-to-launch-on-Clicking-Play/m-p/4809830#U4809830
  2. I thought I was the only one having this frigging issue. It's been happening to me since the 5th. I waited for 4.0 hoping it would somehow be fixed with this patch, but it hasn't. I don't know what to do since I already tried to fix my resolution, restart my computer, redownload the game entirely, and delete the bitraider folder (multiple times) and run the repair. Does anyone have a solution?
  3. I haven't had this exact problem but ever since the 5th I have been absolutely unable to play the game. I went so far as to uninstall and reinstall the game, same issue. It just... blows up my screen resolution a huge amount and it goes to a tiny window (or vertical bar) in the corner. Glad at least now I'm not alone in being unable to get in the blasted game.
  4. I'm having the same exact issue and I'm on Windows 8. I tried changing my resolution, tried restarting my computer a few times, tried quitting out of the launcher every time to restart/change resolution, and I even uninstalled and reinstalled the game. What's up with this, BioWare?
  5. You might have to try adjusting the screen resolution or move the launcher window if you can. But BioWare really fumbled on this one, since SWTOR forces my computer to have a weird big resolution every time it opens even though the friggin' launcher doesn't fit in that resolution.
  6. They haven't updated the Holonet in a long time, which is why Treek is not there.
  7. Another person here who loved those quests. I even love doing the dailies later. Plus, the actual stories that went with them were really cool too. Then again, I'm one who likes the whole "explorer" feel, so I can see why some people may not enjoy them.
  8. Yep, I've done this (and for a wishlist of Cartel items). I used Microsoft Excel, but you can pretty much just use any kind of spreadsheet program or word processor (one that allows you to make tables of your own). I keep track of name, type (armor, weapon, etc), level (some direct-from-CM items have level requirement), shipment, and individual pack. I also put rarity for the rarity on the GTN, just so I can go "haha I own that rare thing."
  9. I love using Treek because I hate having to scramble around to avoid death in a fight. I can switch back and forth between tank and heal throughout a fight until everything dies. I only use Kira these days because I'm overleveled for the content I've been doing. It's sort of lame I can't use the companions I really enjoy due to them being crap for fights, but I've made peace with it. Can't speak on the HK front since I've yet to acquire him.
  10. Good to see I'm not the only one whose first MMO was this game, heh. After reading some of these stories and others on the forum, I've come to realize I was not that much of a noob like I originally thought. 1. Tried to play a Vanguard as a ranged DPS. I also tried the same with a Shadow/Assassin/Scoundrel each until I learned on the forums (reading the "weird people you meet in group finder" thread) that those were melee classes. Though I honestly think I make more noobish mistakes nowadays than when I really was new, considering my Powertech from a couple months ago was also played as a ranged class. Yeesh. 2. Using the Soresu stance on my Guardian because it fit the character, not knowing it was the tank stance. Thank god I hate to group with people, so awkwardness was avoided there. 3. Getting synthweaving for my first crew skill on my Sentinel and constantly reverse engineering in a panic to get enough rubat crystals to craft things. Then I had my old guild leader tell me I didn't need to craft things. Oops. 4. Downloading the free game from the site, then going to the store and buying the discs, not realizing that I already had the vanilla game downloaded. At least I learned about getting a subscription that way. 5. Mixing stats in my gear and not knowing any lingo. I still have to look stuff up or ask what it is. 6. I clicked the stupid blue thing on Voss that spawns the multiple champions. That was highly amusing, especially since I'd read about people doing that so many times, yet I did it myself without realizing. Never trust the blue things. I think there may be more, but if there is, it was probably insignificant since I can't remember it. ETA: Oh, heck, I just remembered something I still do (or not): I have no rotation. I can't be bothered to look one up and memorize it, so I just hit the skills that deal damage and combine the ones that need to be combined. I also don't use any of the Sentinel skills that go with transcendence or zen or anything because I can't be arsed to find out what they do.
  11. Yes, you activated it by buying. Just finish chapter 3 and you can do the new content.
  12. Nah. It's an adjustment getting back to the actual gameplay, but I don't mind it so much now I have a system of leveling in place (ie, not repeating the same planet order and same class several times on alts, now I switch between empire/republic classes). I still love this game plenty without the 12x XP, it was just a nice perk I'd like to have back sometime in the future so I can get through some more dreadful classes.
  13. Uh... wow. This is completely unexpected, BioWare, but I want to throw all the devs a pizza party now. Thank you so much for this, BioWare! Keep doing what you're doing!
  14. I spend them on cartel sets (though I'm trying to resist so I can save them up and maybe finally get 2mil). Other than that, I just buy medpacs when I'm leveling. Oh, and the green vendor mods and training skills.
  15. I finished the Korriban Incursion flashpoint on my Sentinel and got a lightsaber, boots, and leggings as loot at (or near) the end of boss. Pretty nice to have that.
