  1. Because SWG as a game was missing a lot of things too. I will never say SWG was perfect. But some elements of it was pretty good. Bad: The macro-ish combat system where you could script your combat sequence on 1 key was horrible. The lack of content (quest)on the ground and in the space. Those 2 things killed SWG for a lot of people. Even more when WoW came out and offered a lot of content from lvl 1-60. Nevertheless, crafting, guild city, merchand, player housing was superior to all other MMO i have played. Those are the elements i would love to have in sw:tor.
  2. No. If BW see those suggestions 10x per days, maybe the game designers there will understand it would be a good idea to bring sandbox element of swg to sw:tor
  3. lol... yeah i brough these ideas too in WoW forums.. since BW copied wow so much... If blizz would have impl. theses ideas, we would be playing the best MMO of all time now. Shame on you Blizzard ;-)
  4. Could not agree more. As i already posted somewhere in theses threads, take the best out of SWG and put them in sw:tor = best MMO of all time: Complexe crafting game (like swg) with stuff that are needed by players. (not only combat oriented stuff, but fournitures, houses, cloths) Open space exploration - combat Player trainer - Loved this aspect of SWG where a higher lvl buddy in the wild can train you skills. adding open planets where guild could establish a city.<very social> (could be attacked - pvp) i could put more... but just with theses things.. i would be hooked for the next 2-3 years
  5. Well i guess MMO in general attract software developer. From all the friends i know in sw:tor (9) 5 are senior software dev. If i extend this factor to the entire player base, i guess there is in fact a lot of software developer playing this game ;-)
  6. Agree with you!!! The problem he mention is bad response time between the client and the server. It was mention in other thread and is actually a real problem. I saw a thread from a guy who made a youtube vid about it and it is very clear there is a responsiveness problem with this game. Happen all the time.. i trigger an ability 2-3-4 time before it actually fire off.. When those abilities are heals... it sucks. ;-) my 2 c edit: bah.. quote the wrong guy... another responsiveness problem lol
  7. Yeah i did this too on my bootcamp macbook pro. I dont have a top card in it (nvidia 9600GT) but i did go from 21-22 fps to 30 fps. So, yes it helped me on the FPS.
  8. OK you pointed out some of the problem SWG had... but i think his point was : Take the content / quest/ combat mechanics / pvp of swtor and incorporate them in the SWG universe with: player housing, guild city Crafting system (best i ever seen) non combat class (aka merchant) Space This would result in a true/ huge/ best MMO IMO ;-)
  9. agree 2000% SWG was ahead of his time. put the content/quest and fight mechanic of swtor in swg and it would be the best MMO of all time
  10. Games under bootcamp run at about 50-70% performance. I've tested the WoW client under mac Win 7 and native, and those are real numbers. I don't understand... using bootcamp run your windows in a native mode!! what do you mean by mac win7? It is simple, when you run games in windows bootcamp, you run them using Windows DirectX...
  11. Agree with you 100% OpenGL is simply not as good as Directx. Even if you could pump your Mac with the best hardware, you would not have the same perf as a windows/DirectX rig. I played WoW and StarCraft 2 on my MacBook Pro and IMac for years. Sure it was nice. Wow did run pretty well..(thanks to the 2004 game ! ;-) But Starcraft2 was a bit laggy... then i tried to install my SC2 on Win using bootcamp and i could play it with high graph without any lag... I guess we should hope for a open source DirectX implementation !!
  12. There is one thing you still have not done! getting a life ;-) No offense, but you probably eat this game a bit too fast!! Like any other MMO, they will add content over time... If you played Wow in 2004, it was the same thing... people complained about the fact the only thing they could do at max level was running Onyxia over and over... there was not even BG's...
