  1. So long as it isn't anything, in any way shape or form, like SWG. That crappy unbalanced to high hell crapstorm can stay dead and burried forever. The only good to come out of it was the space section. Ground combat was HORRIBLE.
  2. assume it ends next tuesday and just grab what you need now to jump ship to a populated server.
  3. The battle is fine, you just have to not get target fixation. Don't try and do perfect combat rotations and focus only on those. You must watch your own health...and manage the health pickups better. Don't go running for one every time you get a scratch. I don't bother looking for one unless I am at half health...by that point there are 2 of those things floating around. Use your defensives, and not all at once! Actually interupt her at the appropriate times, IE pay attention to her cast bar and learn which ones hit hard and which you can avoid yourself. Interupt the ones that hit hard and you can't avoid, simply run out of the damage circles of the ones you can avoid. In the case of VG/PT...use your shoulder rockets to heal you (if you don't have this perk you are a fool given you KNOW you lack an escape mechanism) through the things you can't run out of. Adrenaline Surge is another perfect heal. This fight is perfect as it forces the PvErs to learn ALL of their skills instead of just the ones that they want to use all the time. I've found healers have the easiest time with this fight but it takes forever, tanks can just handle the blows and pick up heal bubbles at their leisure, DPS classes are the ones that have to play far more conservatively and act more like they are PvPing. And no this isn't someone with amazing gear talking. I used the green gear given at the end of the chapters for it to test viability, you just can't target fixate and ignore your health bar or your MANY defensives. Lets not remove the fun fights shall we? If you made it past the Gemini fight this fight should be easier.
  4. I'm the first to say I barely meddle around with this stuff. I simply know if my computer specs meet the game spec requirements then play a game. HOWEVER. This game was built using a cobbled together engine based upon old tech. If you have multiple cores it will still only use ONE. It doesn't matter how they are split, how they are connected, the engine only uses a single core. Thus you may have a beast of a machine but because you have a quad core, 3 of those cores can literally do nothing to help you play TOR. I suggest you dive deep into the forum archives, the devs of old (read right after launch...the people who built this and no longer work at EA BW:A) answered a lot of questions regarding performance issues people with multiple cores had. Basically, multi core is bad, single core is good. In regards to this particular game. A properly optimized game to today's tech has no issues with this. Now I could be wrong, I am working on half remembered information from years ago and am too lazy to go archive diving myself. I just notice when I play this game on a single core machine my FPS never drops below 70, even on notoriously lagy alderaan with max shadow shaders. My every day machine that is a quad core? I get 60fps in the best of places with no shadows and can see 20 fps on the worst of the offending planets/locations.
  5. I could stomach this if every PvP daily you were handed a crate, OPs bosses dropped a crate, Final FP bosses dropped a crate, and finishing every heroic on a planet dropped a crate. The mini bosses in FPs should at least drop shells and schematics. These dropped crates would NOT increase your rank...but they would at least get you reliable crate drops, thus gear drops, on par with what is expected in an MMO. Bosses drop LOOT. It is a fundamental fact of MMOs...and this new system ruins it.
  6. No lightwhips...those things are a monstrocity against physics man...at least a lightsaber is theoretically scientifically possible. Sorc should get the shield gauntlet as well for the exact same reasons...they never use their weapon. Other than that...I approve totally. And a Vanguard using an assault cannon would be...kinda bad. They need to get up in someone's face...the cannon is more like an artillery platform. That crap is heavy...you ain't running around charging into people's faces with that thing.
  7. Class skills are color locked for force users. JK is blue JC is yellow SI is purple SW is red Heals will be green for the NFU Attacks for the NFU tend to be whatever color blasts make sense, though Trooper tends toward electric blue for a lot of it and BH to orange, but not always. It is to make it more obvious what/who is hitting you.
  8. I didn't know, I don't bother with ranked as Arena is boring as sin to me...I prefer objective play. If you aren't fighting for control over something it loses the urgency to make something fun to me. The fact he placed the macro out there? Yeah...pretty pathetic of EA as lets be honest...Bioware hasn't had control over this game since the doctors left. In general though, what I wrote is how the MMO devs handle hacking typically. GW2 I've watched this in action even...hackers typically get 2-3 days then the account gets bombed and they lose everything and the window closes. Secret World used to do this, took them 4-5 days usually but haven't logged intot hat one in over a year now. Though the most epic of hacking bans goes to Overwatch.
  9. I'm amused at the fact that Acina is, more or less...just a "nicer" Marr. Seriously...take every lightside option with her around and she doesn't say boo...regardless if you are sith or jedi (hell she even seems to respect the jedi MORE for sticking light). Having gotten a JK and SW to her chapter now...I find it interesting she seems to like the jedi more than the sith, character wise. Hell she doesn't even remember you if you were an SI. You know, just the fastest rise to the dark council in history of the Sith and she can't be bothered to remember Darth Imperious/Occulus/Nox.
  10. Just ignore them and move on. eventually trolls end up talking to themselves without knowing it. Though I do agree that every report feature needs to exist for everyone int he channel...Having to track them down to report them is a bit insane. Which might be why you tend to see this stuff appear on planet more often than fleet. Though I have seen and been a part of some great philosophical debates on fleet general chats on both factions...typically in the 2am+ period when the trolls have gone to bed.
  11. There is the whole private property argument, however I suggest you look at later additions to laws to farther protect the right of free speech. The company can mute you...for a limited time period, that is all. Over censoring of individuals can cause a company to face legal matters. Which makes it a very, very, risky manuever to go around silencing people in America even on 'private property'. You may ask them to leave, you may create things they need to agree to in order to be there (user agreements) however there is a catch. If you fully commit to a user agreement, it locks you in to committing resources upon it full time around the clock. Resources you can use better in other locations if you add a simple little phrase that goes something like "Interactions online are not monitored" or "Online interactions do not effect the rating of this game". Such things basically mean, unless a person is ranting for days on end about the worst crap...they won't do anything. There is also one additional thing that allows them to bypass it all entirely, if they give you a mute option you have control of (you can ignore people, or even close general chat in ALL MMOs for this very reason) then they figure you want to interact with this individual as you are refusing to use the tools given to you to filter them out yourself. Seriously, act like an adult and stop whining about everything people.
  12. Despite what gamers think, it requires actual investigation and insurances that it is not a bug. THEN they have to try and figure out a way to close the hack. It is better to leave the hacker go for days thinking nothing will happen to them and watch what route in the code they are using to do what they are doing in order to close it. If you simply shut them down instantly every time one pops up you never actually fix the issue. That said, I am in agreement that it sucks and would be far better for us if they simply flagged the guy and if they caught him cheating another day deleted his account entirely and blocked the email address used to register the account.
  13. This is a US Company owned game, thus the US amendments and rules are exactly what matters. Games are under the direct control over the country the company resides in that controls it. European games must follow the regulations of the EU, up until recently this included British companies but they are back to using the old British rules (which means they no longer have to be offered in languages other than English). Games made out of Canada typically follow American rules (it is their biggest market) however the French Canadian block has rules in place that every game must have a French language version, subtitles, voice, and all text. Many Korean games are only offered in Korean and English, they allow bots of every type and even allow the selling of accounts/game money/items. Things that in most other games are considered completely taboo. There are Japanese games that are not even offered in Japanese, they are tied that closely to America that several games are only offered in English even among their own country. French MMOs are known for allowing betting...or rather were before the EU. As for the wanting to quit a game over what is spoken in general chat...you may as well give up on the entire MMO market. I will leave the PC mentality individuals with this extremely true and valid thought; The first amendment wasn't designed to protect your fragile feelings. It was designed to harbor free thought. You have two choices if you don't like something: Ignore it or say something back. But, if you're unable to do either of those things, it makes you a fool. Being offended is not a valid third option. Time to act like adults, being offended and crying about it ends at high school.
  14. Anonnn, if OPs/raids are what does it for you....you are going to be hurting for things in all MMOs. The length, size, and overall quality of raids has been going downhill for years as the devs realized how few of their playerbase actually does them...or at least repeats them often enough for them to be worth making. Small group content however is where the majority of the players replay often...so you would think they would have spent time there and we would have gotten 3-4 FPS alongside the uprisings.
  15. Work together, don't boondog it. Realize that DPS=/=tank and actually take responsibility and cycle the stations. It isn't THAT hard.
  16. Ebon Hawk is the next busiest in line (and late at night it is, frankly, busier than harbringer by my own experience at least PvP) for the NA.
  17. Pretty much this. She should be given a memorial in Republic Fleet at the very least!
  18. Or new faction X comes in and shakes things up...forcing the republic and imps at each other's throats again using subterfuge and misdirection and you have to sort it all out being as you are a 3rd faction.
  19. Gotta go with wampa, it's one of the few companions out there that is actually monstrously massive. It is also the only companion I've seen actually take control of the collar (put a wampa in tank mode, it overloads the collar and shocks everything around it haha).
  20. I hope you don't have any Miraluka! The entire RACE is near emotionless. They don't show emotion. They are the Vulcans of the Star Wars world.
  21. The dominant species in the galaxy is human. They are the most numerous, they control the most worlds, etc. The various worlds out there...of every planet we visit int he main storyline for example. For the empire, the primary race is human, regardless of the planet. So yes you are all filthy aliens to them. For the Republic? Tython? Human world, even Rakarvi's ghost from before the Republic existed shows that it was a human world. Ord Mantel? Human world. Coruscant? Human world. One of the craddles of the human species in StarWars Taris? Was originally an alien world, human's became the dominant species after a long period of time and created a planet-wide city on it. The planet was, for all intents and purposes, a human world. The Republic trying to reclaim it...look around...more humans doing everything than anything else...meaning it would return to being a human world if it was rebuilt. Nar Shaddaa? Owned by the Hutts and species of all kinds are found there, yet most often a human is what you run into. While it is a Hutt world, because humanity is the most numerous once again...they are dominant culturally. Tattooine?Human world. Sand people have no wish to interact with the galaxy and no centralized government (they are at war with each other) and the Jawa have no central society either...they are wandering clans and limited in number. Humans control the world, colonized it, making it a human world as far as the galaxy is concerned. Alderaan? Yeah, total human world. Balmorra? Human world. Hoth? This one is technically a Talz world, but the claim to the world on the galactic stage is humanity. Quesh? Human controlled world, but requires Hutt technology to make the planet actually usefull. No intelligent life exists on Quesh naturally. Belsavis? Republic uses it as a prison planet, controlling species on the whole is humanity. Voss? The Voss are the owners of this world. Corellia? Cradle of humanity in this galaxy. Ilum? No native intelligent species with a culture. Humanity took ownership to mine it for crystals. The number of planets out there where others could call humans "alien" is very few. Ironically other 'aliens' would view the species calling human alien to be very naive even. It is the culture of the galaxy. It's like being a brit in mexico, you stand out and feel alien.
  22. Warning: coloquial use of the term "you" ahead, not directed at any direct individual. Not quite correct. The emperor never talked to the wrath, not directly, at all until Ziost. Never took a DIRECT interest in them either. Your contact was always through intermediaries. The JK on the other hand? You had the emperor controlling you for 6 months. Vitiate himself even remarks that, paraphrasing, "of course it had to be you, who else could kill me so many times?". You talk to him multiple times through the JK storyline, you also have Scourge alongside you. The emperor takes personal interest in the JK. Hint: remember the book before TOR launched? Or ever talk with Scourge quite a bit? He waited 300 years for the JK to come along to kill the emperor. What? You thought that was at the end of the story? No...the JK's story actually ends with kotet/kotfe. Everyone else was simply shoehorned into it. And I say this as someone that actually enjoys a Trooper outlander. I just remember the lore and the obvious clues that the whole bloody story was written with the JK in mind. Right down to the fact that the first old companion you see is the one most known for undying loyalty: T7. Play through KOTOR 1 with T7 around a good bit if you didn't know that huge part of his personality, that gets nods through the JK storyline here too.
  23. OPs needs to never be mandatory (looking at dread masters story) and the story within them must be meaningless. IE you do not need to know about it to understand any story anywhere that is solo/small group.
  24. ranked rewards are character earned, not legacy earned. Thus no collections.
  25. You must be the right discipline, it is built into one of the disciplines (might be harmony on the shadow).
